The basics

The Antoni Tàpies Foundation is in a building designed with all the characteristics of Modernisme architecture that Tàpies is known as a pioneer of—this style of Catalan Art Nouveau was made famous by Gaudi and evolved by Miró. The decorative townhouse is an educational facility as well as a museum, and there are art-focused exhibits plus plenty of examples of Tàpies’ abstract and creative work—including the Cloud and Chair piece that sits atop the museum itself.
