The fortress grounds are divided into four main sections: Donji Grad, Gornji Grad, Little Kalemegdan Park, and Large Kalemegdan Park. People arriving from further away can take tram lines 2 or 11 to Pariska or Kalemegdan stations or take tram lines 5, 10, or 11 to Tadeusa Koscuska station.
Belgrade Fortress is conveniently open year-round. Indeed, the most scenic time to visit is in spring and fall, when the foliage and landscaping are at their finest. As it’s the city’s most visited attraction, there is a constant stream of people enjoying the grounds from opening to close; visiting first thing in the morning may help to avoid some crowds.
