A cultural icon in the UNESCO-listed city of Le Havre for decades, the André Malraux Museum of Modern Art is the first thing you see when approaching the port by boat. Arriving by foot is no less impressive, and it’s easy to spend many hours soaking up the MuMa’s Impressionist art collection (second only in scope and quality to Paris’ Musée d’Orsay), plus works by local artists like Raoul Dufy, Georges Braque, and Jean Dubuffet.
Given its proximity to the highlights of downtown Le Havre, the MuMa is easy to explore independently; it’s also on the city’s Impressionist Trail. You can also explore the museum on an Impressionism-themed tour, which will provide an in-depth introduction to its artworks.

You can only buy tickets at the museum, while families and disabled visitors receive discounted admission.
The museum is free to visit on the first Saturday of the month.

The André Malraux Museum of Modern Art is open every day except Mondays, from late morning until evening, with slightly later hours on weekends. It has variable opening hours on French public holidays, so it’s good to check its schedule if visiting then. Note that the last admission to the museum is 15 minutes before closing, and everyone can visit for free on July 14 each year.
