Rustaq

Rustaq, Al Batinah

The basics

The city of Rustaq is tucked in the western Al-Hajar Mountains and, despite the region's arid climate, is a fertile area that's rich with fruit trees and outstanding Omanian honey. There are also three popular wadis (valleys) that are worth exploring, each known for their warm, natural springs. The best-known spring is Ain Al-Kasfa—a relaxing destination sought out for its therapeutic, sulfurous waters. For more history check out Al-Hazm Fort, a great example of Omanian Islamic architecture.
