The basics

The biggest draw for many is Sydney Town Hall Grand Organ, which is the world’s largest pipe organ. Two-hour guided tours take visitors to see the organ and also include a look at Centennial Hall, the Lady Mayoress’s Rooms, the Reception Room, and the former site of the Old Sydney Burial Ground. If you just want to see the outside, note that many walking tours pass by the town hall. The hop-on, hop-off bus also stops nearby.

Things to know before you go

  • If you’re visiting independently rather than booking a third-party tour, note that fixed-priced donations are requested to cover the price of tours.
  • Different rooms within the Town Hall can be rented out for meetings and functions.
  • The entire building is wheelchair-accessible, and there's an accessible entrance at Druitt Street.
