The track up and down was moderate. Well worth it to see the spectacular bursts of lava at night. The guide was very informative with interesting facts.

It was better than i imagined.
The climb was easy, but what made it harded was the slow pace, but i understand.
You will be cold on the top, the wind is strong.

The guide was really informative, very interesting, with a good attitude, and really took good care for the group, specially for the people that had more difficulties to hike, he waited, with kindness and consideration. I felt very good with him.
The initial organization was not so good; the meeting point was at 17:00, and we started at 18:00, with absolutely no information from the organizations. Information is vital specially under that heat as preparing for 4 hours hiking without a toilet, requires some some planning. Just a bit of information would had make it more human.

Great hike with awesome views.
The volcano eruptions could be minimal depending on the fay. We only got one 1 eruption but well worth the view.

The volcano view is great and worth the trip. But the guides were very bad, didn't explain anything, didn't tell how long we were staying in each place/stop, a tour in French was proposed but there was no French-speaking guide etc. It's really a pity that you have, by law, to be with guides to do a hike that could be easily done alone.

Great guides with a lot of knowledge of the vulcano and the history! The tour itself is not so difficult, when a bit trained. Hiking shoes strongly recommended (some people had to rent them).
It was a pleasure to do this tour and see the sunset and later the vulcano erupt.

I absolutely recommend the sunset trek to see the Sciara del Fuoco. Pepe was an excellent guide. They have all the gear you need. I borrowed hiking boots, poles and a backpack for the walk. The meeting place, at Bar Ingrid, has a great view, and you can pick up a snack and water before the trek. Also you finish there and can get a pizza and beer!
Pepe is geologist and spoke to the group in English and Italian to explain the different rock formations we were seeing along our trek caused by the volcano. He also kept the group moving at a pace that was comfortable for everyone. We stayed at a viewpoint to watch the explosions for 1 hour. The wind on that side of the island is more intense, so bring a light sweater or windbreaker to wear while you wait for the explosions.
This is a must if you visit the island!
