Amazing time!

Shamir and Shaq were awesome!! We had such a good time! They were great hosts. We saw so many different animals, caught fish, snorkeled, ate on the beach. Fed tarpon, and had a great time! Would do it again in a heartbeat!

Excellent experience with Sun Sea Family Tours

We did an all day trip with Captain Shamir and Striker. We had a wonderful time! Would highly recommend. We first fished and then snorkeled. Snorkeling was great. Saw lots of fish, sting rays and nurse sharks. We went to Caye Caulker and walked around as lunch was prepared from what we caught. Lunch was really good. We had an option to do shark alley and the reef park but declined as we had just gone two days before. Would definitely go again.

Room for improvement in a place with so many tour companies

Shamir and Junior were our guides on a 6 hour reef fishing, snorkel, & beach bbq tour (scheduled to be 7 hours). Our family of 6 had a good time, not awesome. Passengers included 3 generations: 71yr old grandma, a middle aged couple, & 3 young adult children. This was our 4th trip to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye & our 10th time snorkeling Hol Chan. We also made a quick stop to chum the water & swim with nurse sharks. Funny it took me 10 times to realize (and after watching all the shark week shows on HBO before the trip) that chumming & jumping in is a bad idea. Also, that guides NEVER get in at this stop. Just something to think about. There were many larger nurse sharks than I’ve seen before & they were particularly aggressive so my daughter and I got out after 5 minutes. A quick stop for Junior to dive for some conch for fresh ceviche at the bbq, then we were off to the lagoon side of Caye Caulker. We had about 80 minutes to explore while the guys cooked lunch on a grill, which consisted of two foil trays, a fish stew (we thought we’d have them grilled but they said no) along with reheated side dishes; tortillas, red beans, curry potatoes, coleslaw, and some tortilla chips with the ceviche. They brought sodas, water, a few beers, and some rum punch ingredients. What wasn’t typical was the horribly fast & very rough ride to Caye Caulker & back again to our resort dock. We felt Shamir was a terrible boat operator, especially considering we had an older passenger. They got us back to our hotel 50 min early so we know he had time to go slower considering the wind & waves that day. He blamed Mother Nature but we’ve been in worse weather & had far better drivers. We also own a boat at home & know exactly how it could’ve been better. Our family made the best of the day but expected a better experience for $1200 plus tip. I really wouldn’t recommend them. We’ve had 9 previous tours to compare with other companies and this was notably bad. I’ve actually never written a negative review before.

Epic experience with our captain, Shamir! We caught snapper for our lunch which was delicious! We saw tarpon, swam with sharks and rays, played at Key Caulker. The whole day was magical!

Overpriced!!!

Shamir and Junior were great guides and the lunch they prepared was delicious. That said, this tour is WAY overpriced! We paid for a full day fishing trip and there was only a minimal amount of fishing. The majority of the trip was spent cooking lunch on the beach and snorkeling. We took a private snorkeling trip for 6 hours for 1/4 of the cost the day before we went on this. Our total trip time was 5 hours, compared to the 8 hours stated when we booked it. Again, the guides and the trip itself were great. The entire tour is misrepresented and just absolutely not worth the exorbitant price.

Angel and Junior made today more than amazing for me, my husband, and our twenty-something sons. We snorkeled the reef seeing countless species and Angel made sure we saw things we might have missed. While swimming with sharks, manatee were spotted and Angel and Junior made sure we got there in time to swim with them, too!! After helping us (a lot) to catch what we needed for lunch, Angel and Junior blew us away with their cooking. Everything was delicious. Angel and Junior were fun and clever and shared their knowledge about all things Belize. They were skilled fisherman and great hosts every minute of the tour. And guys, if you read this, will you please try and send us the pic of the manatee??? We forgot to ask😫
