Lång historia kort: Bästa pengarna jag någonsin har spenderat på en semester. Utmärkta tacos (7 totalt), cool liten stad, massor av Tequila att smaka. Särskilt om du bor på en resort och vill ha en uppskov från samma landskap och/eller Cancun känns lite för turistigt. Detta är ett fantastiskt värde. Vår guide (kvinna, förlåt att jag inte kommer ihåg hennes namn) var också en fröjd. Kan inte rekommendera det tillräckligt. A++++

Alberto är en bra guide. Han gav oss den bästa tequila-historielektionen och var mycket snäll och vänlig. Min mans ben var öm och han saktade ner promenaden för att få plats med honom och väntade när han behövde sätta sig. De olika tacosna var riktigt bra i smaken och jag uppskattade verkligen upplevelsen. Gör inga misstag, tacos är kyckling, fläsk, nötkött och fisk på denna turné. (De första 3 är fullstora och de sista 2 stoppen är i gatutacostorlek. ) Bara den sista restaurangen hade veggietacos. Det finns en liten mängd promenader på denna turné och massor av tequilaprovning. De tar dig till en smyckesbutik och låter dig se lite autentisk mexikansk kultur. Vi trivdes och det andra paret på resan. Tack Alberto!

Mat, kul och tequila...alltid en bra tid

Dagen började lite stenigt, men det berodde på språkskillnaderna mellan mitt sällskap och chauffören. När det var utrett träffade vi vår reseledare Alberto, han var rolig och väldigt trevlig. Det var då det roliga började. . . vi eskorterades till en privat uteplats där vi fick en cerveza och 3 läckra tacos. . . smaskigt. Alberto skyndade oss inte alls han tillät oss att njuta av vår tid. Därefter gick vi till en plats som heter MI PUEBLO, som var en marknadsplats med ett sortiment av lokala smycken, konst och klädesplagg. Det är också där vi smakade några av de bästa tequila som regionen hade att erbjuda. Det var en härlig dam som vi såg göra dessa perfekta handgjorda tortillas som passade bra med Maya-tacos. Efter en kort rundtur vid piren där Alberto gav oss lite historia om denna vackra stad, gick vi till vårt sista stopp, en restaurang som satt precis intill havet och hade de bästa fisktacos jag någonsin har haft. Det var en fantastisk turné som inte tog upp hela dagen och gick i en takt som gjorde att vi kunde njuta av vår tid. Jag rekommenderar det starkt.

Chauffören som hämtade oss var mycket bra han pratar engelska och mycket artig. Turnén själv var hemsk. När han kom till Puerto Morelos släppte han av oss på ett ställe som ser ut som en butik där de säljer vandanor, tofflor och lite myggmedel och några turer också. Sedan tog han oss till baksidan av butiken för att prova några tacos, tacosen såg inte alls ut som aptitretande, kom ihåg att jag är vegetarian så jag fick skäll av min man, varför boka en tacotur när du inte gör det äta tacos är vad han sa, sa till honom att jag inte kan vänta på tequilaprovningen. Sedan tog vår reseguide oss till denna restaurang som har allt och han nämnde att de kommer att visa oss hur man gör tortillas vilket inte hände eftersom damen tydligen gick ut för att äta lunch. Tog oss sedan till souvenirbutiken som alla säljare gick och följde efter oss. Men min man var så stark och gav inte efter för dem. Gick tequila provsmakning naturligtvis tequilas är alltid bra när du är i Mexiko men omg övervärderade mycket. Promenerade till marknaden vid havet av malecon där det händer en händelse, vi såg en stingrocka och några små fiskar och vår sista taco som stannade är på skaldjursrestaurangen framför havet, där min man åt fisktaco. Taco var okej men inget var speciellt med det. Vår reseguide lämnade oss där, vi var tvungna att gå tillbaka till mötet på egen hand där alla väntade på oss och sa att de bara väntar på oss så att vi kan åka tillbaka till Cancun antingen tar vi det här fordonet eller så måste vi vänta i ytterligare en timme. Chauffören var MIA, de sa att de bara skulle vänta på honom. De letar överallt efter honom. Vi stod där i ca 30 minuter sen sa min man att vänta på honom inne i skåpbilen eftersom det var så varmt ute, vi försökte öppna skåpbilen och bingo föraren låg där och sov? vi väckte honom och sa till honom att vi måste gå. Andra turister nämnde att han var en långsam förare och att vi var tvungna att skynda tillbaka till staden de har någon tid att åka till. Tydligen var föraren ökänd för att köra långsamt. Vi öppnade google maps på min telefon för att visa vår avlämningsplats eftersom han inte pratar engelska. Jag förväntade mig en hemgjord autentisk tacos men nej de är för kommersialiserade, inte för mig. det var bara mina frustrationer på den här turnén FYI, det är bara jag och min man på denna taco-turné ingen annan.

Besides after trying the tacos you have the tequila tasting with artesanal handmade tequila, which you will not find outside Mexico. Tacos var bra, tequilaprovningen var informativ, men en överprissatt försäljningstaktik, tequilamästaren vad som helst sa till mig att flaskan jag gillade var 250 USD, men jag hittade den på andra ställen för under 50 USD. Puerto Morales var ett trevligt ställe, loppmarknadsshoppingen var ok, dock väldigt höga priser (var redo att pruta) - det är transporterna där detta föll isär. på resan från vårt hotell var chauffören överallt, slog rasterna och stannade slumpmässigt. resan tillbaka var över en timme försenad att hämta oss. vi missade middagsreservationer på grund av det.

So unorganized

We were really excited for this tour but it fell short. First it started off by our van arriving and the driver not calling us, we asked him “is this for tacos??” And I don’t think he spoke English. Anyway we shared a van with a bachelor party who were all going on a ATV tour and that was confusing because we were the only ones going for tacos. The ride was loud and unpleasant which was not my favourite but also not the companies fault. Once we got there we were taken to the back of the tour companies building and started listening to snorkel instructions….So we’re very confused again. Finally the snorkelers left and there were 4 of us for tacos. We had 3 tacos which were decent, then a lot of tequila which was nice. Then we walked to the next location with Katarina who was very kind, pretty quiet but she did well. The second location was beautiful but a tourist trap as another review said. We were shuffled around to different shops before we got our 2 bite tacos. They were good, handmade taco shells, just small. Walked to the beach and Katarina told us about the town. Third stop was at 4:35 and we were supposed to be back in the bus by 5:30, but there was a big market set up and we wanted to walk around a bit. This is when it gets really crappy… we all ordered fish tacos here. It was supposed to be the gourmet tacos but my husbands was raw. Soon after he realized that one of the women on the tour said her throat hurt, asked us if our throat was scratching and we said no but hoped she was ok! She ran to the bathroom with her friend and we could hear her hacking. I went to check and she has literally coughed out a 2 inch bone from the fish that was lodged in her throat. That could have ended up SO bad. Again we don’t blame the tour for this, but the restaurant. Lastly, we were supposed to be picked up by 5:30. At 5:30 we heard the driver was running late. At 5:37 a driver came and picked up 5 people but not us. FINALLY at 6:15 our driver came. We had a supper reservation for 7 which we definitely missed. So all in all, it was a bummer. It could be a 2 hour tour. Some time walking around would be nice and a lot more organization would be even nicer.

Not What I Expected

Puerto Morelos is a pretty down on a beach with good restaurants and bars, this tour doesn’t take you to any of them. We started the tour in the back patio of the meeting place for many tours. After we listened to the scuba intro and they left we then started our “tour.” This consisted of being served three pre cooked tacos: beef, pork, chicken. We then moved inside to drink chilled tequila which was probably the best. After 1:30 we finally moved on to the next location which was just a tourist trap, you get 2 tacos and the tequila experience here is like any tequila shop give free samples not really needed to pay. After sitting there for 2 hours we moved to the only beach side taco stand and by that time our group just wanted to go get margs and not be tied to the tour. I went on one in Puerto Vallarta that went to small taco shops in town and got a taco and a drink then moved on through like five shops. This is 4 hours for 3 locations it’s a lot of waiting around. Visit the city I’d propbably avoid this tour

The tour was amazing! The Tacos were absolutely lovely as was the tequila. We had 5 different types of tequila on our tour which were really nice. Our tour guides were fantastic at their job and had exceptional knowledge of the area, how to make the perfect tequila and Tacos. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who visits, especially if you enjoy Tequila and Tacos
