Nice small-group tour with a local

There were 13 people in our mini-bus and our driver/guide grew up in Sydney so she was a wealth of information. The small group made for an easy visit to the Highland Village, which we got to ahead of the large tour buses. Our next stop was in the town of Baddeck, which we reached after traveling along a scenic route (including a short cable-ferry ride) along various sections of Bras d'Or Lake. Lunch on our own was in a great local restaurant, the Bell Bouy Bistro. After lunch, we visited the Alexander Graham Bell museum, which gave a good insight into the inventor of the telephone and his various and other sundry interests and inventions. We returned to Sydney in plenty of time to board our cruise ship. We would recommend Blackwood Tours for excursions when in Sydney.

Bell Museum. Rain and wind 30-40 mph during the day could not see much of the village nor Baddeck. The restaurant the driver took us to was not very good either.

Francie provided a great tour despite the rainy and windy weather conditions. We appreciated the information and history of the area and had a great excursion. It's always nice to get the history from a local resident.

Not as advertised

Christmas Island Post Office was skipped because the driver had no post cards. We had brought some along and i am sure the post office probably sold some. Highland village was great but the driver provided no info to us and the stop was 45 minutes. The staff said at least an hour to an hour and a half was about right. We could have really used the more time there. Beddeck boardwalk was underwhelming and there were no plans in place for a lunch stop. Driver suggested Tim Horton's (really?) but we were pretty much left to our own devices. Lookoffs were one stop and we were back at the ship ahead of schedule. In Bo's defense, it was his first day but surely management would have givens him the rundown before our tour. No fault of Bo's, management let him down.

Hello Bob, I am sorry, the Christmas Island post office is not advertised on Viator, where you booked. It was Bo's first time with us but has guided before. He was probably a little nervous to make sure he got back to the ship on time. He will definitely get some more training, which is going to happen tomorrow. There are lots of places to have lunch in Baddeck, not sure why he mentioned Tim's, once again maybe he was a little weary about the ship's departure time.

Wonderful tour of culture, history, and countryside

Excellent guide and wonderful tour to enjoy a look at the culture of the area and the countryside. The Highland Village is an excellent "living" museum of life for the early settlers. The Bell Museum is incredibly informative and intriguing.

Loved Blackwood tours

Loved our tour with Bob. He was knowledgeable, kind,flexible and had our best interest. Loved his recommendations. I would do this tour again and with this company. Robert responded quickly and kindly to my questions pre tour. Having a group of only 12 made this MUCH nicer than a bud tour of 40-60.
