En fantastisk rundtur i Zubarah Fort med Junaid

Junaid var vår förare och guide. Han var rolig, cool och mycket erfaren i sin kunskap om Qatar. Hans atmosfär var cool och han fick turnén att gå så snabbt. Vi rekommenderar honom starkt som din nästa guide :)

En besvikelse turné

Vår guide, Shahzeb gjorde det uppenbart att vi var en olägenhet för honom. Han tillbringade hela turnén med att antingen sms:a eller prata i telefon även när han körde. Han förklarade väldigt lite och svarade generellt på frågor med ett enda ord. Vid ett par hållplatser lämnade han aldrig ens fordonet än mindre förklarade vad vi såg. Jag skulle aldrig rekommendera honom som guide.

Högt rekommenderad! ! ! Shabbir var fantastisk! ! ! Han var väldigt punktlig och väldigt tålmodig eftersom jag var sen. Han var mycket kunnig om denna turné. Pratar engelska mycket bra och en fantastisk fotograf! SUV var mycket ren och mycket bekväma. Snacks serverades hela turen. Tack Shabbir! ! !

Imran var en fantastisk reseguide - full av information om de intressanta sevärdheterna vi såg och landet Qatar i allmänhet. Vår favoritdel av turnén var mangroven där vi såg inhemska fåglar. Men vi njöt också av de historiska sevärdheterna.

The captivating North of Qatar

We did the tour in November 2023. It was quite an educational experience. We gained a lot of new and interesting information about Qatar's culture and history. An extra benefit is the beautiful urban and natural scenery of the country during the drive through the north. Special thanks to our guide Bilal. He was very welcoming, open, and insightful. Chatting with him gave us great pleasure.

Hate to be a spoil-sport, but I will preface this with the fact that I have traveled around the world A LOT, have been to the Middle East (pretty much every country in the Islamic world) on several trips, and have had hundreds of guided tours on every continent. So, take my view on this with a grain of salt. First, this possibly could have been interesting IF the guide had been interesting or interested in being interesting. Because he offered nothing freely, I had to pull information out of him on Qatar, the culture, the history, etc...something he should have been able to tell me about but he seemed either not motivated or unable to do...just a pleasant guy who drove; NOT really a tour guide. Second, there is absolutely nothing remarkable to experience on this long trip...The stops were: 1) a ho-hum modern fish market, 2) a walk on a raised boardwalk through a windswept nature area (not beautiful and nothing to see except that you are told 2,000 years ago there USED to be a purple dye industry here long since gone without a trace)...and finally, 3) a fairly standard "stone" fort at the top of the country that has obviously been newly rebuilt with the same "plastic" inauthentic plastered look of so many of the futuristic, albeit, ersatz developments in the city of Doha...a cross between a mall themed restaurant (Olive Garden?) and poor-mans Disney World. There is a brief exhibit on the pearl fishing industry of long-ago Qatar, but you could just as well have read this on the Internet since the topic is only barely associated with the fort's location nearby to an archeological site that cannot be seen or visited. Unfortunately, the tour is a mish-mash of (sorry, Qatar) really unremarkable places in a country that does not really even have much of a history until recently.

Very good driver/host, a fine day

The level of attractions in Qatar is moderate. however we had a fine day due to our driver: Ibrahim Said was more a host than a driver. He told us so many interesting things about his country and his people, he was very polite and respectful. The large SUV was very fine. Thanks again from Germany! Ulrich & Katharina

Not the best use of time

This was not a particularly interesting tour. We didn't learn a lot. Your time would be better spent at the Museum of Islamic Art or the National Museum of Qatar.

Northern Qatar in 4 hours

There's not a lot to see in Qatar, it is a small, dusty desert sheikdom that is currently a very large building site. Nevertheless our guide Shabir did a great job showing us the north of the country from fishing harbour to desert fort in a comfortable Mercedes 4WD.

The description while booking the tour said that "In Al Jassasiya, however you will truly experience history of Qatar. This old, mysterious town holds Qatar's oldest mosque, full of cultural history that your knowledgeable guide can fill you on" However, we were never taken to Al Jassasiya - The guide/driver refused to believe it - had to show him the screen print of tour description" After our complaint, it seems that Viator has also removed the description related to Al Jassasiya for their tour description but without telling us. I have the screen print of the earlier tour description. I wish that Viator would have contacted me rather than quietly change the tour description later on to remove Al Jassasiya. Not good for your reputation.

North of Qatar

Private tour of North Qatar was a wonderful experience. We were happy with the places we visited and our guide Shabir was pleasant and accomodating. He even bought us breakfast --sandwiches and tea. Some of our favorite stops were the purple island, AlJamil village and the Fort. All in all a great tour! Worth the trip!

Viel zu teuer, lohnt sich nicht.

Das Geld für diesen völlig überteuerten Ausflug kann man sich sparen. Ein paar Rinnsale in der Mangrovenkolonie.....okay, man befindet sich ja in der Wüste, aber der Burner waren Purple Island und die Kolonie auf keinen Fall. Die Festung......ein paar Hinweistafeln, vier Türme....das war es. Leider hat mein Fahrer Ismail mit großem Desinteresse geglänzt. Das Handy war wesentlich wichtiger. Er hielt es nicht für nötig, aus dem Auto auszusteigen und mir ein paar Informationen zu geben bzw. mich zu begleiten. Ich hatte ihn schon zwei Tage zuvor als Guide. Ich wohnte in West Bay, er stand aber in Business Park. Hatte aber alle Angaben zur Abholung korrekt gemacht. Schade, es war eine Erfahrung......

Le nord du Qatar

Les sites visités sont fort éloignés les uns des autres, ce qui signifie beaucoup de temps passé dans la voiture. Les sites eux-mêmes ne sont pas d'un intérêt exceptionnel. Nous étions déjà venus à Doha plusieurs jours, c'est pourquoi nous avons choisi cet itinéraire. Sinon c'est bien organisé: la voiture était confortable, le conducteur, Bilal, calme et prudent. Il nous a offert des boissons et des snacks. L'excursion a duré près de 5h30. Les visites sont courtes puisque les sites sont petits.

Excursion Nord du Qatar

Le guide Muhammad Ibtisam n’a quasiment rien expliqué, en revanche il écoutait de la musique très fort pendant tout le trajet. Il nous a laissé super peu de temps (15 minutes) à la curiosité principale El-Zubarah forteresse qu’on a dû visiter en vitesse. La dernière attraction était sans intérêt, un village abandonné sans aucune explication. Bref, une mauvaise expérience!
