Många bussresor som täcker några av de vackraste landskapen i landet och stannar i vackra byar för att få en känsla av det riktiga Irland.

Tråkiga långa resdagar inte mycket att se

För många transfers, människor, ständigt byta bussar, chaufförer, guider, människor som ständigt går på och av bussen. Ingen överensstämmelse, reservationer trasslade, hade inga biljetter eller rum redo för extremt dyrt singeltillägg jag betalade $ 2 k för för vår dotter. Det var en röra, osammanhängande och tråkigt med riktigt långa bussturer som inte var värda körningen eller tiden.

Viatour sätter ihop turen åt dig, vilket är bekvämt. Om jag var tvungen att göra om det skulle jag boka direkt med researrangörerna och hoppa över lagret Viatour. Upplevelsen var fantastisk. Men en viatour-begränsning (som jag inte märkte då - mitt fel) är att de inte tillåter dig att välja enstaka tillägg när du bokar en grupp. Vår familj på 3 reste tillsammans, jag bokar alltid två rum. Jag missade på något sätt den biten på Viator-webbplatsen och de har automatiskt ett trebäddsboende. Som tur var reste vi under lågsäsong och så kunde hotellen få oss ett enkelrum utöver den förutbestämda trippeln. Viator skulle kunna fixa detta genom att lägga in det i bokningen i början (som hotell gör). Deras kontor var alltid stängda när vi checkade in och så varje stopp var vi tvungna att fixa det, betala extra, etc. etc. Inte ett stort problem, men ganska onödigt. De bokade oss med ett företag som heter Railtours Ireland. Det företaget är utmärkt, vår guide var rolig (Brian. och hans kollegor kallar honom MadBrian " . Vi hade väldigt roligt. Railtour-företaget gör det superlätt att se höjdpunkterna. Jag skulle hoppa över Viatour och bara boka dina turer separat.

Great 4 Day Overview of Ireland Highlights

I was surprised how well organized and coordinated this 4 day trip was for me. From the representative at the train station to each location we visited everything was great. I specifically thought the Galway hotel was in a great location adjacent to the pedestrian street, music and restaurants. The Killarney B&B was quirky - but clean with an outstanding breakfast in a good location. I was pleased with each day of the trip and definitely recommend.

This was a great tour and our guide Bob Beatty was excellent. He was knowledge friendly and super nice. The trip was well coordinated but you are on the bus and the trains for long stretches of time. The trip included a 2 night stay at a bed and breakfast in Killarney. We found from others that they had an option for a hotel which we did not have. The B and B was not great, there was black mold in the shower and the owner was not that friendly. The other downside was lunch on day 4 in Commemara. The tour takes you to Kylemore Abey, which is beautiful, but lunch was at the cafeteria on the grounds and it was terrible. I better option would have a lunch stop in many of the cute towns along the one. All in all this was a fun trip, the country and the Irish people are fantastic.

We just took the 4 day tour and it was the perfect amount of time to see and do everything. All of our guides were great, humorous and knowledgeable. Brendan, Bart and Mike we thoroughly enjoyed our experience! The only feedback is we would have preferred the hotel over the B and B

Meeting our guide, Norman, at Heuston station went smoothly. Train ride to Cork was pleasant, a car is reserved for Rail Ireland travelers. Our visit to Blarney Castle and the woolen mills was very pleasant, weather was lovely, flowers in the gardens were magnificent. Not sure the reason, but we traveled by coach rather than train to Killarney. Killarney has grown quite a bit in the 18 years since my last visit. Our B and B was basic but fine, however it was not an easy walk to town. That probably depends on your age. Also it was located on a busy street where the coach couldn't stop. Our guide would walk from the coach to meet us, then together we would walk the several blocks back to the coach. Many people on the tour stayed at a hotel in the city. We weren't given the opportunity for this upgrade by Viator. The people we spoke with booked directly with Railtours. The Ring of Kerry was quite crowded. Weather at Cliffs of Moher was quite windy and cold, to be expected. There is a lovely new visitor center there. Most disappointing was the day we arrived in Galway, the viewing spot above the city had too many other coaches and we were prevented from stopping to see and photograph the beautiful Galway Bay. Our hotel was conveniently located downtown. Norman was our guide for the first 3 days of the tour. I marveled at how he was able to keep track of the number of travelers on the coach, as many were on day trips, and were picked up at different locations. He did a fine job. The fourth day we were scheduled to visit Connemara, but we were both very tired and decided to skip our prepaid tour and take the train back to Dublin. The train ride back was quite crowded, and our bags had to be stowed in the bike room, not the most convenient. These overnight tours are better suited to younger, more agile travelers, in my opinion.

Great way to see the other side of Ireland. Loved that it had rail components trains are faster and less swerving than the all-bus transport. The places we stayed were nice, the tours we took we great, and it always felt like we had enough time at each of the places we visited. Would definitely recommend!

Our 4 Day Ring of Kerry, Limerick, Cliffs of Moher, Galway and Connemara trip was wonderful. Our tour guide for the first several days was Jonathan an he was one of the best we have ever had for guides. His knowledge of history, literature, politics, economics, folklore was excellent and we were delighted that he talked much of the time since he wasn't the driver too. His humor and caring attitude was excellent and we loved his quotations of poetry and music the whole trip. Our scenic views were spectacular and this made our vacation one of the best ever. I highly recommend this tour by Viator and Ireland Railtours. Their coordination and handling of all of us tourists was excellent.... they practically held our hands to guide us where we needed to be. It was a great vacation and I would love to do this trip again someday!

Excellent trip! Jonathan was a great guide, very funny and knowledgeable. A great introduction to modern Irish history. The scenery was spectacular! The Belfast portion was terrific we split between Titanic and Black Taxi tour, and both were more than satisfied.

Norman Foster was probably the best tour guide that I encountered. I enjoyed the trip more because of his attention to details. Darren on the Conemarra was also excellent. We did experience fog on the Ring of Kerry segment but everything else went OK. I liked the Noraville B and B in Kellarney but it was not conveniently located to the downtown area costs 6 Euros for taxi. The Kelarney Court Hotel was nearby - good pub.

Overall a very well organized tour, although if issues arose there was no customer care as too many people are involved. A very great way to get a taste of Ireland via train and bus. Of course it is subjective but it would have been to have more stops in some places, or more time in others. Note that the first two nights we were put up at a 'Bed and Breakfast' as Killarney was fully booked. The tour involves a lot of walking, stairs if you want to enjoy the stops to the fullest so be aware before booking.

The 4 Day Ring of Kerry, Limerick, Cliffs of Moher, Galway and Connemara Rail tour were fantastic. We had a wonderful, funny, informative tourguide Norm who kept everyone on time so we got to see all and more then expected. The places we stayed in at night were all first class. We had wonderfull weather, not a drop of rain, which made this trip extra special. Highly recommend it to everyone.

This tour was amazing! Rail Tours staff were organized and went above and beyond to make sure we all knew where to be at which time. This tour was fabulous due to the tour guide 'John Beaumont' who suggested extra things to do and even arranged transportation to do them sheep herding and The Spirit of Ireland show. The only complaint I would have is in the B and B in Killarney 2 nights. It was musty and had mould in the shower. If you have a chance to pay more, I would suggest the 'International Hotel' as it was beautiful and it was the meeting place for all activities while in Killarney.
