Nice day out assisted excellently by Rupert our guide and Eric the driver. The mix of canal, inland and coastal venues made it a rewarding experience.

Lovely day despite a hiccup

Resourceful guides, variety in tour, small group, enjoyed the boat tour and the walk in Cahuita Nationalb Park by the sea. The highlights were seeing the variety of animals ( especially sloths and white-faced monkeys) and having a swim in the ocean. The reason I am not giving it a 5 star is because we were told, when we arrived at the pick up spot right on time 8 am, that the van had left without us 45 min earlier.. We were not pleased, to say the least, as the tour was supposed to be from 8 am to 6 pm. However, we were able to catch up the van at its first stop. So the company made ip for it and the rest of the day was very pleasant. Btw, we were back by 3pm.

Hi Marina, thank you for your overall positive review, it's great to see that you enjoyed the tour and our efforts. To cover what you left out of your review, we sent you the correct start time (between 7:30 and 7:40 am) via email and to your WhatsApp, to which you replied that you had received and read it - so it's all documented of course. Out of a group of 10 guests, you were the only ones who did not show up on time, so I personally continued to wait for you. When you arrived 30 minutes late, I hired and paid for a taxi so you could catch up with the group. In the taxi, you also admitted to me that you were late because you stayed at the breakfast buffet. The other option would have been to write you up as a no-show (half an hour late) and you would then have posted an angry 1 star review, right? By the way, the tour lasted 7.5 hours, a bit more than the advertised 7 hours. It's not possible to finish at 6:00 pm if your ship leaves at 6:00 pm. Anyway, it was a pleasure to have you as a guest. The two Jorges were super knowledgeable and passionate. Felt like a tour with friends. Saw monkeys, sloths, and all kinds of other lizards, birds and bugs. Felt very welcome in Limon and loved it.

Forget the Ship Excursions!

Steven (Esteban) met us right on time and tossed us in his AC car and off we go! He took us to a beautiful view Pt over Limon, perfect for pictures. Drove us out to the National Park, but this is where it gets good, we stopped at a small roadside stand selling typical CR foods and goods and then to a banana plantation where he taught us all about banana harvests—so cool! The hike through the NP was wonderful and we got to See many new animals, insects and plants. He then headed to the Tortuga Channel and we had a great hr long boat trip to see even more wildlife, then to a marvelous lunch at Playa Bonita. So, we get our own driver, our own schedule, passionate Costa Rican w great English for 30% LESS than the cruise ship Excursions! No struggle to decide there! We love Viator for their easy booking, transparency and support for us in the whole process!

We had a fabulous tour with Steven around Costa Rica. Consisting of a trip on the river, with ‘eagle eye’. We were lucky to see several sloths, one with her baby.. and lots of wildlife. Then off to Cuhatui National Park for a swim in the turquoise sea. Would definitely recommend…

Fabulous tour, our guide JC was outstanding, so knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. Wonderful boat trip too, the captain got us close up to see the sloths and birdlife.

Our driver Eric and guide Ronaldo were a fantastic team. Eric’s eagle eyes found so many animals for us to see up close. And Ronaldo’s knowledge of the area, history and of course all the animals, plants and insects was incredible. We saw monkeys, Montezuma birds, toucans, black hawks, an eye lash viper, a green tree snake, leaf cutter ants doing their thing, and of course sloths. Both three and two toed. This was an excellent, amazing excursion. The van was great. Air was cool and the stops we made were not rushed. We spent 8 hrs on this trip but it seemed like time flew by. Definitely recommend. Relax Day Tours was great and it was a seamless deal through Viator.

Our excursion was very enjoyable and interesting. JC was an excellent guide for our activities, and Eddie was a good driver and help in identifying many of the animals and birds we spotted. We were old highly recommend this excursion.

Best all day tour you wont be disappointed

our tour guide was awesome he was very informative about the city and culture and the history he made sure to take us to the right places. they stopped along way to show us different plants fruits and animals they saw. the canal ride they went above and beyond to find animals and birds and reptiles. they found a caman that was cool. we stopped at a fruit market and had free tastes of fresh local fruits. stopped and saw dole banana's farm went to the rain forest and saw many monkeys. had some local foods we grabbed really fast at the canal. even had 1/2 hour swim at the beach. you wont go wrong with this tour they are professional and very good communication prior to arriving too. spoke good English also. we also come by ship and had no problem getting us back on time and got going first thing in morning.

Amazing day! We saw iguanas, howler monkeys, sloths, herons, a toucan and more animals. Oscar was an outstanding guide. He ensured that everyone was comfortable and enjoying the tour. The trip to the national park was greatly enhanced by Oscar’s knowledge and Dennis’ eagle eyes. The boat captain was incredibly knowledge about the animals in the lagoon. I highly recommend this tour!

Juan Carlos and eagle eye Eric provided us with an amazing tour! We were able to view sloths, monkeys, lizards and birds in their natural habitats. We also were treated to the history of Costa Rica.
