Cannot recommend highly enough!

Our guide, Glean, was eminently knowledgeable, clear, engaging, and blessed with a quick and warm Irish wit. The impact of his explanations of the events surrounding Bloody Sunday, when he lost his dad in the murderous shooting, cannot be overstated. Powerful stuff we'll not soon forget.

The tour was really informative and Gleann was a great story teller. His personal insights made the walk especially educational and moving. He was also a great resource for services in the city. We went to a restaurant he recommended that we would not have found and had an outstanding meal. Thanks for opportunity to learn so much about Derry.

Gleann was an excellent tour guide, and I ended up with a lot more insight into the Troubles in Derry and the first-hand impact it had on so many of the local residents.

Despite bad rainy weather...

Despite bad rainy weather the guide's talk was very informative and moving, as the son who lost his father. He spoke of a Subject that is intense emotionally but put it in the right perspective. We ask him why the British chose to shoot unarmed protestors and his answer was that the British thought this was necessary to stop a peaceful movement that kept growing. They would rather handle a violent one instead that is not widely supported. A cynical view but unfortunately probably an accurate one.

Our most memorable part of our tour was meeting Gleann our tour guide, who was personally affected by Bloody Sunday and could tell us in detail what happened, why it happened and it’s impact on his community. He is close to the experience and tells you of the troubles in a way that brings you back to the streets and imagine it yourself. He is a gentleman and great teacher, highly recommend. Great sights, beautifully designed murals and an overall unforgettable experience. Thanks Gleann!

Highlight of our trip to Derry

Angela is an absolute gem of a tour guide, it was the highlight of the trip. Brilliant to get all the info from someone actually from the area, so friendly and showed us a lovely pub to watch the match in later. Would recommend the tour to anyone, well worth the money.

Personal, moving and informative.

We travelled from Belfast in the morning and got stuck in traffic so were late for our slot. But Glean, our guide, was very understanding and managed to adapt our tour to fit in as much as possible nevertheless. We really enjoyed the tour and learned so much. Glean was a great guide and has a very personal connection to the events of Bloody Sunday. His experience was so moving and we couldn't have asked for a better guide. Derry is such a lovely place, would recommend staying for rhe whole day as there is so much to see.

the history needs to be told

you can walk to the bogside and visit the murals but it is the history that makes the mural speak - Glen provided that history in an informative way. My father and i loved this tour and would suggest that without Glen's spoken word the murals are just murals - well worth the time and a big thank you to Glen

One of the best tours and tour guides I have been involved with. This tour was done with the Derry Walls Private Walking Tour, and was an amazing day. Gleann was very passionate about his city and talked through the historical reasons for the conflict, as well as explaining what life was like in this part of Northern Ireland during the Troubles and the ongoing realities of that history and the peace process faced today. Highly recommended.
