Nice itinerary. Guide explained much about the areas we saw as well about Angola and Luanda in general.

We met our tour dockside from a cruise ship. They contacted us several days on advance to give information when and where to meet, which was reassuring.
We shared a van with others from the cruise and was a enjoyable tour, It was fast pace to get in all in. They provided a colorful goodie bags of snacks for the trip.

The tour guide did nothing and was not knowledgeable. Half the sites were closed and they seriously underestimated the travel time. 30 min was quoted and it was over an hour. At one stop we were told we had 14 minutes and others were told 45min which led to sitting in the van for 30 minutes. The only bright spot was the driver was helping all get into and out of the van

Only had one full day in Angola and wanted to see as much of the capital city as possible, so I booked this Luanda City Tour.
I am so glad I did because I got to see a bit of everything, including some attractions I didn’t even know about (Moon Viewpoint - it was amazing!).
My guide, Ivone, was super informative and her knowledge of Luanda and Angola is incredible. Any question I asked, she was able to answer.
Transportation was also great, and our driver got us around the city without issue.
If you’re visiting Luanda, I couldn’t recommend this tour enough!

Yvonne speaks English very well and gave us a memorable experience. She is very professional and knowledgeable about her city and country. Valley of the Moon was spectacular. I love to see supermarkets in foreign countries and she made it happen. She is a pleasant and excellent guide!! We highly recommend this tour!

When booked, tour said small group- 4-6 people. Bus held 16. Tour guide spoke little English and gave no information during drive. The market listed in tour was not the one visited; the other being a 50 minute drive each way. Once there, no vendor took dollars and there was no means to trade money. A total waste of time. Group larger than advertised, poor English tour guide who gave no info about country or area, and almost two hours for a market (farther than the one in tour description), and no way to spend money. Worst was, a man came up not scheduled for the tour and bought a place on a bus for $20!!! This was a total ripoff.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the tour not being as expected. The Luanda City Tour is a shared tour, you can have 4-6 people on your private booking but it does not mean that you're booking for a private car of 4-6 people.
We are sorry about the change of itinerary, this was due to the dirt road leading to the ship graveyard not being in good enough condition to drive through. So we took the Moonview point route that also stopped at the craft Market. It's unfortunate the guide did not explain that before the tour started.
The venders usually take 5 dollars and above because it's difficult to change 1 dollars. Our guides are there to assist to change smaller notes.
We sometimes encounter cruise travelers who did not book, and when possible we assit them. You can be assured that the man did not pay 20$ and if so we are at loss.
We once again apologize for your bad experience.

While the tour guide was very good, there was absolutely nothing to see in Luanda, no beauty and no points of interest.

This was a shore excursion from a cruiseship.
We sat in the back of the van, which had 12-14 passengers.
Air conditioning ineffective. Unable to hear/ understand the commentator.
We were taken down a narrow dirt path for 15 bone jarring minutes each way in the vehicle to see the ship graveyard. Very bumpy, poor ventilation. uncomfortable. Remote. Poor explanation of where we were going. After 3 hrs, we asked to leave the tour early, and were accommodated to do this by having a car meet us and take us back to the ship. It was not a fun trip… I think tourism is new to Angola… my suggestion… skip the dirt road trip, ensure there is a comfort stop after 2 hours with a clean restroom, use microphone, hand out an itinerary.

The Ship graveyard is one of the main attraction in our City reason why we have it in our itinerary. We got lost. Driver and tour guide had no idea where to go or how to get there.
It was supposed to be a city tour but we spent over an hour go to see wrecked abandoned ships.

Hi Carl, we sincerely apologize for the disappointment. The City Tour includes different parts of Luanda and not only the business district. Luanda is indeed very big, and we try to show you the different realities, and lifestyle. Although it takes an hour to get to the Ship Graveyard, it is one of the main attraction of the city, which also allows you to drive through different neighborhoods that provide you with another perspective of Luanda. As for the driver and guide, apologies for their lack of knowledge of the road. The way to the ship graveyard gets quite muddy when it rains, since it had rained a bit in the morning they were suggested to take another road. The driver unfortunately did not understand the instructions correctly, that is why we sent a support car to guide your way as soon as we noticed he was taking the wrong track.
We hope that despite all you enjoyed the other attractions.

Perfect way to explore and get a taste of Luanda. Each stop is interesting and well thought out, and allows you to get a glimpse of what life in Luanda is all about, while also delving into some of the history of the city, and of Angola. Ivone and Edson really are incredibly knowledgeable and skilled guides, and I can’t thank them enough! Great experience!
