This was definitely a highlight of our entire time in Guatemala. Do not fear if you have never driven or been on an ATV (like myself), there is no pressure and after a few minutes (maybe 15) it felt natural. Our guide was SO amazing (as was our other travelers, 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 you four!) everywhere we went it felt so natural and everyone was so nice. Must do event!

Great tour! Yeshua (the tour guide) was very knowledgeable and accommodating. I was the only person on the tour, so it was a great experience to have a private guided tour.

Driving the ATV was so...

Driving the ATV was so much fun! At first it was a little hard but you soon get the hang of it. My favorite part was the route that passed a beatiful view of the river. Also on the way back the sun was setting and the breeze made it perfect. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took us to three different little stores: coffee, ceramic, and chocolate shop. My favorite one was the chocolate shop where we tried pieces of the different levels/percentages of the chocolate and the rum they had with cacao extract. In addition they had a beauty supply shop within that had all organic products made from the cacao extract as well. Overall, very fun, learning experience.

Incredible experience! Ended up being a private tour because no one else showed up. Pedro was amazing- such a nice, great guy!! He really personalized the experience and easily made this the best day of my trip. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in Panajachel!

Me and three of my friends booked this tour and it was absolutely wonderful! I was the only one in the group who had never ridden an ATV before, and the guide did an excellent job of explaining how to operate it. By the time we started, I felt prepared. The guide was very knowledgeable. I think this adventure is priced INCREDIBLY for how much we learned, taste tested, and got to see. Highly recommend to anyone!

Amazing trip!!! I highly recommend. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip! It was extremely helpful to have a guide who lived nearby, who can explain the different communities and their local handicrafts and art. There's no better easy to learn about the local culture!

Our guide Pedro was amazing!!! He taught us how to use the ATVs and made sure we all felt super comfortable and safe. I do wish it was a little more interactive. And we didn’t stop for textiles or the beach. Instead we went to the hot springs which was okay. Definitely bring sunscreen!! I loved seeing the smaller towns and hope to go back on my own to explore more! The chocolate was delish!!!

Not what we paid for

We booked this tour with my boyfriend who was unsure he wanted to ride ATVs and had not done this before. I convinced him the tour would be fun and that it said it’s for beginners with no ATV experience. At the first ATV stop the guide pulls us over and says I am driving too slow. I was leaving about 20-30 feet of space between be and my boyfriend ahead of me. It seemed weird that he singled me out for this because my boyfriend was leaving more space between him and the guide. This felt like misogyny. He told us I should now ride on his ATV but said it was my decision while pressuring me to ride with him. He also told us a story of a woman who kept taking photos and then almost drove off a cliff. Clearly I was not taking photos while driving and of course it’s a woman in his story of the bad driver. I said I’d rather keep riding my own, he said okay as long as I took 100% responsibility for the safety of the tour. This also seemed weird. Then I rode super close to my bf ahead of me. At the second stop he tells me I’m no longer allowed to ride the ATV because I used the brake too much and I burned the brake, though I followed his instructions of pumping the brakes going downhill. Also because at first he said I was too slow so I rode close to the person in front of me requiring me to use the brakes not to crash. Now I don’t have a choice in being forced to ride on the guide’s ATV. Riding behind him felt very unsafe as I felt I would fall off and there was only a small bar to hold on to. Also he was texting and making phones calls talking with his phone in one hand while driving the ATV with the other while I was on the back. Overall the experience was advertised for new ATV drivers but I followed his directions exactly and he seemed intent to not let me ride it making up a different thing I was doing wrong each time.

A super fun trip through some of the nearby villages! The tour guide was super friendly and not pushy to buy anything even at the tourist stops which I really appreciated. Amazing views and he helped with taking some great photos! I enjoyed the tour overall and would recommend to anyone who is looking to enjoy the sites for a little while!

Fun way to learn more about the villages of Atitlán

We had a great time visiting the smaller towns of Atitlán and learning about some of the core industries of the region. It was a very well paced tour where time allotted for each space felt natural, never rushed.

This was an amazing experience to get to know the local communities located around Panajachel. Yeshua, our tour guide, was so nice, knowledgeable, flexible, and accommodating. This was my first time driving an ATV and Yeshua was patient and a good teacher guiding the way. At the end, I felt very comfortable driving it. You should 100% book this tour - you won’t regret it.
