A perfect activity

Our guide is wonderful! The whole activity is perfect! We learned a lot about glacier and even tried some real glacier water. We also got to see the very rare polar stratospheric clouds!

The glacier hike was the most amazing part of visiting Iceland! The group in the bus was ~20 people, but we got split between the 2 guides for the hike, so it was still a small group experience. When approaching the glacier it looks like the tour will never get to the actual ice, but we were on the ice pretty quickly. Our guide Gabi was very nice, fun and knowledgeable about the glacier. She even suggested good spots for photos and took some group photos for us. Don’t worry about getting the best views from the bus, the views from the glacier itself are much better!

This is the second time I have done this tour and it was just as great as the first. They always have amazing guides for these tours and that is much appreciated. My dad came along and he was having issues with his foot and the guide was very patient and made sure we didn’t get left behind. I would recommend this tour to anyone. The only thing I would change is the hike to the glacier is quite long and rocky and noticed other tours had vehicles that could drive up closer to the glacier. This long walk in the beginning and end seems to waste a lot of time that could be spent up on the glacier.

Our family of 4 - 2 adults, 2 kids aged 13 & 10 - went on this hike last week. We set out prepared for cold wet weather and ended up having to ditch the waterproofs, extra layers and buy sunglasses instead! This was an amazing experience. Everyone's favourite of the holiday. We were all a little apprehensive and not sure what to expect but our guide (Nicholas from Austria) was excellent - reassuring and sensitive to all in the group. The pace was just right to ensure everyone kept up easily (even me!) whilst seeing many features on the glacier. We loved filling our water bottle from the 'ice cold' stream! Our knowledgeable guide explained many aspects of the glacier, happy to answer the kids' questions and expanded my (degree level geography) understanding too. There's an approx 15 min bus ride then a 15 min walk to the start of the glacier hike. Quite a few different groups out on the glacier when we were there but still plenty of scope/space to enjoy its peaceful nature. Highly recommend.

What a great excursion! Francesco, our friendly guide made the experience even more exciting! After a short trip on the bus we arrived near the glacier. About 1km walk on a rocky path let us to the foot of the glacier. From there on it’s uphill about 15 min till you get info on how to put the crampons on. Another 5 min and you’re on the ice! We were with only our family of 5 so we had a great time exploring new cracks and caves and made some new paths behind our guide. It felt really special up there ! Francesco took great care of us and we always felt safe. The tour is a Total of 4 hours.

Staff were great. We had a delayed start, no fault of the staff, they got the tour underway so thank you. The tour was very basic and spent about an hour on the ice. We walked a small distance on the ice and turned around. Pretty disappointing. We saw other tours covering much more of the glacier. Not sure if it was due to some of the folks in our tour who had great difficulty keeping up or was it due to being a basic 3 hr tour.

The excursion was way to easy compared the expectation. We basically walk few steps on the very initial part of the glacier. We expected something more unfortunately. The group was approximately 15 people and therefore is not a small group. But the guide was a cool guy

Our guide was super safety oriented and very friendly. He also knew a great deal about the glacier and educated us with many Interesting facts. I would HIGHLY recommend this. It was a nice hike, but not crazy and it was the most beautiful view ever being up there! We even ended up filling our water bottles from glacier water!

Great experience but expected longer on the ice.

Walking in the ice was great and our guide May was really good. However, there was a lot of faffing up front so the time on the ice was less than an hour and we didn’t make it very far up. I think this was partly due to having one lady who couldn’t walk far in our group. We didn’t get up close to the crevasses which was a shame.

Discovery of alive glacier

Our guide , Barbara, show us a wonderfall face of à glacier . We walk on the ice during more than two hours and this expérience was fantastic. We discover also how a glacier can be dangerous and brittle in the same time.
