What To Expect

Make your own way to the meetup point or request pickup from your hotel or condo. Meet your guide and group and set out on an easy–going walking and tasting tour.

While your guide fills you in on Aruba’s culinary heritage, make your way to four different restaurants around Oranjestad. Enjoy a tapas-sized dish at each stop, such as fish and tostones, as well as drinks including Cuban rum and the most popular cocktail on the island, Aruba Ariba.

At the end of the tour feel confident in your local knowledge of the island’s best food.

Your tour ends back at the meeting point.

Met some great fellow travelers! A variety of tastings; the fish stew, mojitos & cheesecake were my favs. Wedele really knows his stuff; the evening included a history tour.

We LOVED our tour! Our tour guide Beach was great!! Our son (20) tends to be on the shy side and he opened out to everyone in group! He had such a great time as well. We thought a little bite here and there wouldn't be enough but we ended up bring food home!!! I was a perfect night. Thank you!

Disappointing tour on many levels

Taxi pickup from hotel was 25 minutes late, it still had another pickup to make, then the driver drove dangerously to the meeting point. Other people on the tour arrived by taxi even later. So, the tour got off to a bad start. Opus restaurant was great. Cuban restaurant also good. Westgate service was awful, with not even enough chairs for our group. Food was mediocre. Tour guide was ok but added far too much political commentary for a vacation tour. There were only 4 small food stops but it took 4 hours due to late start, lack of seating and slow service at Westgate. We had been to 2 of the restaurants already, so would prefer to know where exactly each specific date tour will go. I have been on 15+ foodie tours and this was sadly by far the most disappointing. Getting a taxi at the end of the tour was also a challenge since the Radisson bell stand people gave all cabs to their own clientele.

We had a great experience and highly recommend taking this food tour. Beach was a great tour guide. The food at each stop was well prepared and tasted great. We did not leave hungry! Do yourself a favor and schedule this tour when you visit the island.

The food and drinks were both tasty and refreshing , Evelyne’s commentary of historic events that occurred on our walks to the restaurants made the tour very entertaining. I would recommend the tour to all who visit Aruba. We also had a lovely time getting to know the other members on the tour

The tour guide was great but they were all tourist places. The food was good but when my husband and I signed up for it we thought it was the local Aruban food. We went to 3 places and one for dessert that dessert was an Italian dish lace and it looked like it was from a frozen dessert. Very commercial area we were at. Also, for the money we paid the 3 places we stopped to try were not worth the money at all. There are tons of local great food so make sure you find out which places you are stopping by first before you pay for the tour. Evelyn our tour guide was great and knew a lot about the history of Aruba.

Great tour! This was our first tour of the vacation. We enjoyed being able to walk around and seeing Aruba historical sites. We did the evening tour so it was more focused on food and only partially focused on history, but we still learned a lot about the history. We stopped at four restaurants and had four small meals and four drinks. Our tour guide was Beach, he was very nice and laid back. I think this is a great tour if you are a foodie or want to try something different.

Our guide, Beach, was great! He was very informative and entertaining. It was fun meeting the other people on the tour. Most of the food and beverages were great. Although the description was tapas size portions, we were full at the end of the tour. I definitely recommend this tour.

Tour guide was very knowledgeable on local history and culture and the food was good. However the tour lasted closer to 4 hours rather than the advertised 2.5 hours. Felt more like a historical tour rather than a food tour as there was little to no mention of the food being served.

Horrible Experience

Sadly this is the worst food tour I've been on. Poor planning with Aruba Walking Tours led to no seating in the 3rd establishment, and on the last stop for dessert & drinks the restaurant couldn't accommodate us at all. The food consisted of 3 stops with fish as the main protein no variety or "World Cuisine". The tour leader Beach" did little to nothing to fix these problems.

Restaurants not prepared.

The guide was knowledgeable and personable. Food at first three restaurants was excellent. Service at first two restaurants was perfect. The last two restaurants were not prepared for the tour. One restaurant did not have enough tables available for the group. The last restaurant did not accommodate us at all. They said there was no room for us so we stood around for a few minutes. Then we asked for our desserts to go which was not worth the wait.

Unexpected

This food tour was very different than my other experiences. It was mostly seafood and the partnered restaurants were not prepared for us. The wait times were long and there was not enough seating. I felt bad for the tour guide because of the lack of accommodations by the restaurants. For the price and food given it was not something I would book again. I was able to try things I wouldn’t normally order so that was a positive.
