Great tour!

Great time!! Both the van ride around town exploring interesting parts of Austin and the super friendly boat around the beautiful Austin sky line and bat “wake up” was a perfect combination.

Only thing missing were the bats

We went on this trip on a drizzly night so only a few bats were out. The driving tour and the boat tour ran smoothly and the commentary was interesting

We had fun. The tour boat captain was very entertaining.

The bus tour of town was over an hour. The boat ride was an hour. I was hoping for a 2 hour boat ride.

Enjoyed seeing a flock of snowy egrets in a tree along bank of lake, Wonder Woman mural, Austin skyline at night. Enjoyed the van tour of city . Bat sighting was meh- could only see with red light and basically shadows of bats against the bridge. Our guide on boat was very low energy, could not hear her at front of boat- did not enrich the experience.

We called the morning of the cruise and told Viator our concerns that the bat cruise could not take place due to the weather. We were assured the cruise would happen even thought bad weather was on the radar. We were 7/10 of a mile from the agreed pickup, but they said we were outside of the range for the custom pickup they advertise. SO - We walked there in the pouring rain. We were. soaked to the bone! Then we waited for a 30 more minutes standing soaking wet for another delay, then had 30 minute traffic to get a couple of blocks. Then 2 hours after we expected to be on the batboat, we were told the cruise wasn’t happening at all. Total false advertising and just scamming for the money. ( which wasn’t cheap at $100/person) I will fight this and expect to win because my record is totally clean. I always pay above and beyond when I get half what I expect. In this case I got Nothing but a loss of 3 hours I could have enjoyed in my limited time in Austin. Beware!!

The tour was great but communication about pick up was confusing. It wasn’t clear about the spot to meet the bus. At the convention center across the street or at the hotel.

The boat bat tour was very cool. The lady narrator was great. The small group did not realize we would have an Austin driving tour for an hour before the boat tour. So that was a little disappointing.

Fun way to see the city from the water

Owen was a great g;uide showing us the sights and history around Austin in the evening. He had interesting facts and fun sights to show us. THe boat cruise was a great way to see the city from the water. We did not get to see the bats flly as they had already migrated to Mexico.

Confirmed event canceled without notification

Booked for a 4 pm pickup at our hotel. At 3:35 I called to confirm if event started at 4 or if that was the pickup time. I received a call within just a few minutes; however, the person explained the event was sold out and not sure why my CC went through (and we received confirmation). We had planned our day around it... very disappointing. Not sure when or if we would have been notified.

Mike gave us an awesome tour. Appreciated hotel pick up and drop off. Description should be more accurate. We were fine with tour, large group boat, and hour on water for bat viewing, but would have preferred to know what to expect. Description deceptive. Captain Robert did a great job.

Absolute Austin Must-Do

I was not prepared for how amazing and comprehensive this experience would be. Our guide Owen was professional, kind and knowledgeable. The city tour prior to the bat boat was so cool, as Owen pointed out lots of hidden gems of Austin, including the famous postcard mural where we got a chance to get out and take pics. The bat boat was incredible, seeing these darling creatures taking flight was magical. Like Owen, our boat tour guide shard lots of history and knowledge about not only the adorable bats but the ever-changing Austin skyline. Most importantly Owen went above and beyond to help my sister, whose shoe had randomly broken during the first part of the trip. While we we on the bat portion of the excursion he went out and got my sister a great pair of shoes. We were expecting just a black pair of flip flops but he returned with a nice stylish pair of shoes she could wear out as we continued our evening. This tour is an absolute Austin must-do.

Buyer Beware!

I booked this tour without really understanding what we were getting for $80 per person. We wanted to see the bats, on a boat, which we did get. And it was nice to be picked up & dropped off at our hotel, and given a tour around the City. But when we found out the actual boat tour itself (which, BTW, had no bathrooms or shade!) cost only $13.00, we felt taken advantage of! The transportation and lame city tour was NOT worth an extra $67.00! We could have (and should have, had we known), taken a $10 Uber to the Hyatt Regency, where the bat boats are docked, and saved ourselves $50 each! Lesson learned to do more research, and scroll down the page on Google past all of the overpriced tours!

10/10 great way to see Austin in short time frame

We had a private tour with Mike as we were the only 2 people booked on Sunday evening 7/30 and we had a terrific time. We felt like we saw all the key hotspots of Austin, with a few added extra's that were special to Mike which was so great for us Aussies to see. Unfortunately the boat tour was completely full as we booked this tour so last minute, but Mike was still able to take us to the Congress Ave bridge just in time to see the bats take flight. It was such a sight to see. Overall, highly recommend this tour if you're in Austin for a short amount of time. 10/10

Not a good experience for us.

This was not a great experience. The description was misleading. The “small group” only referred to the transportation to the boat cruise. It was cramped and we could have done that trip for far less money. Communication through Viator was terrible. I replied to an email about the wrong address (instructions were to reply to the email) with no response. I then sent 2 messages in the app with no response. Our driver was frustrated as he was given the wrong pick up address, we were frustrated as we were picked up 30 min late because of this issue. Seeing the bats was great but this tour was terrible.
