Overview

Escape the bustle of the Barcelona streets and head out to the Costa Brava for the day to play in the ocean. Spectacular Costa Brava coastline & terrific Tossa De Mar

Other than the spectacular Costa Brava coastline, the most memorable experience was our tour guide/owner/operator, Matias. Matias is friendly, has very good English, and has excellent knowledge of the local area. The stand out for me was his level of safety. Before we left Barcelona, Matias explained that the kayaking may not go ahead due to the conditions on the water - however he would make his final decision once he arrived at Tossa De Mar. Matias provided us with alternatives: plan B which involved a long hike and plan C which involved a shorter hike. He kept us well informed throughout the day and took numerous photos which he provides free of charge (you don't really need your camera). Fortunately we were able to kayak and that was a fabulous experience (including the snorkeling). The mask/snorkel and wet shoes are provided. The lunch was delicious especially the seafood paella. It was in a lovely location overlooking the beach and medieval castle. After lunch we had 2 hours of free time to explore the old town/shops/castle. Matias provided us with enough information so you could decide how you wanted to spend your time. The transport (van) was comfortable and Matias is a very safe driver. I highly recommend this tour. The Costa Brava coastline is spectacular and Tossa De Mar is a stunning town steeped with history.

Best excursion of our vacation. Matias, our guide, was attentive, explained things well, and took good care of our group. I normally do not write reviews but this trip was worth it! A very memorable experience for our family. My teenage son cannot stop talking about it.

Tour was very good! Matthias was very friendly, knowledgeable and made an effort to introduce the members of the group to each other. Matthias made us feel safe on the water and taught us the proper kayaking technique. The lunch was delicious at a local restaurant- highly recommend this tour!

I am the last person to write a review, but I always read them! This tour was the best! So worth every penny! It was a beautiful day filled with lots to do! The kayaking, snorkeling and cliff jumping (optional) was so fun for every level. What beautiful surroundings! The lunch was great and the old fortress town beautiful. Matius was the best guide!! He made everyone feel comfortable and have the best time! I can’t recommend enough!

Matias with Kairos Tours was the best! He is so friendly and knowledgeable. We immediately felt like family. His van is new and clean and the drive was comfortable. The entire day was perfect. Kayaking was so fun. Lunch was delicious. And we had plenty of time to explore the picturesque town and castle or to lay on the beach. I couldn’t recommend Matias any more.

We had the best time with the entire trip. The kayaking was gorgeous and you actually went into the caves. The water was crystal clear for snorkeling with lots of fish in the cove. Matias was the perfect guide helping when needed but allowing lots of laughs. He was knowledgeable about the area and his English was very good. The lunch was fantastic and the service was friendly. We concluded the day with a hike to the fort to see the fantastic views. I don’t typically do reviews but this trip should not be missed!

Mattheus was a superb guide, giving us a top-notched experience from Barcelona experiencing the coast and area of Tossa Del Mar through a personal kayak tour, snorkeling and a fantastic lunch. We still had free time to explore the old-town by ourselves. It was a full day, but well worth it. Our family of 5 strongly recommend this excursion.

Amazing experience, was easily the best day of our trip! Matias was our guide and feels like a friend more than a tour guide. We went kayaking, explored some sea caves, swam and snorkeled at a cove, had a great meal and had free time to explore the town and hike up the cliffs. Great scenery, friendly group and definitely a memorable experience. You should 100% include this as a day in your trip.

Matias was incredible. The entire day was seamless including travel to and from the coast and the activities once we got there. He took the time to make sure we had all the tools we needed to be successful and he was so patient with the newcomers. The sights were beautiful. The water was gorgeous and the restaurant we went to was also really good. I would 100% book with Kairos Tours again. Thank you so much Matias!!!

The most amazing day with a fabulous tour guide

This was one of the best tours we did in Europe ! It was such a different and unique experience to get away from the crowds and kayak along the Costa Brava coast. Our guide Matias was the owner of this small business and has a wealth of life experience and made the day really relaxing and fun ! I loved being on the water without many people around since he has an agreement to be the only operator at that spot. He was a great kayak instructor and you don’t need prior experience, he helped us take many photos but also let us sit back and enjoy the wonderful scenery. It is rare to find someone so genuine and conscious about his environmental impact - he works with NGOs and for sea conservation. You cannot miss his passion for Costa Brava and wanting to show you his part of the world. You’re probably comparing tours like I did - trust me, this one is the best one !! And you’ll be guaranteed to have a great guy like Matias be your guide (he’s the only one for now haha)

This adventure was the best thing I’ve done since traveling internationally. My husband and I went to Spain for a mini honeymoon and we wanted to get away from the hustle bustle of Barcelona and this trip had everything. Cliff jumping, kayaking, snorkeling, and great food!

What a great trip!!!! From the start to finish! We kayaked to some remote parts of the area, amazing views, crystal clear water and super fun kayaking experience. It’s a sea kayak experience not the boring bay one. The tour also provided water shoes! Very considerate. The lunch was also amazing, three course meal in a restaurant.

We had a fantastic trip with Matias and our group, he made sure we felt safe and happy all day. The kayaking and snorkelling were amazing and lunch was delicious and then had time to wonder around the beautiful old town before heading back to Barcelona. Would 100% recommend booking this trip instead of the shorter ones as its a small group and you get more time to do everything

This is the highlight of the trip to Spain. If you are looking for a day that offers it all this is it. You will experience local cuisine served by a restaurant that hosts delicious food with a wide range of offerings provided by the friendliest, accommodating and hospitable people. The beaches are gorgeous, the snorkeling is such a fun time in clear waters near a protected cove. The equipment is top notch and the kayaking is adventurous without the feeling of dangerous. This area is beautiful and we will go back, you cannot pick a better version of this tour. The moment you meet your guide who is also the owner of the company you feel like you are visiting old friends and as spectacular as the day was, their companionship and guidance along the way are what we remember most. Treat yourself to this wonderful day, you won’t regret it!
