Overview
Burgundy is one of France’s most renowned wine regions, but with dozens of wine villages and hundreds of wineries to choose from, it’s hard to know where to start. What To Expect
Start your tour with a pick-up from your central Beaune hotel by private vehicle, and set out along Burgundy’s famous Grands Crus Wine Road, which runs from Gevrey-Chambertin to Chassagne-Montrachet.
Hop out along the way to stroll through the vineyards of appellations such as Romanée Conti, Clos de Vougeot, and La Tâche. Listen as your guide explains the complex classification system of French wines, the importance of ‘terroir’, and the difference between Grand Cru and Premier Cru wines. Then, get your first taste of the region’s acclaimed wines with an expert-led tasting at a wine estate in the Côte de Beaune district.
Next, stop for lunch at a family-run wine estate in either the Côte de Beaune or Côte de Nuits region (depending on availability), and tuck into a delicious 3-course lunch of typical French cuisine, paired with regional cheeses and more wines. After lunch, take a peek at the estate’s wine cellars, and learn more about the aging process as you sample some of the celebrated vintages.
Spend the afternoon exploring the Côte de Nuits appellations, stopping at locations like Gevrey-Chambertin, Nuits-Saint-Georges, and Morey-Saint-Denis. Finally, enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of a private wine cellar not normally open to the public, and get a taste of Burgundy’s world-famous red wines.

The day was perfect! From the train ride out to Beaune, which was so easy to navigate, to meeting our guide, lunch in a quaint private cafe to the many private tastings of at least 20 different wines from the Burgundy region. We couldn’t have imagined a better guide, he was very knowledgeable on every level of producing wine and the history of the region. I recommend this tour to everyone who is in Paris. A great getaway for the day!! It’s a long day but so worth it!! I would love to stay in the area for a few days on our next trip to the region. Enjoy!!

Elsa was very knowledgeable and fun! A very enjoyable day visiting three tasting rooms, one shop and two Dme. The first and third were very nice wines, the second stop was great lunch food (though not as good wine).

Was good for a day trip but not worth the price.
First stop was lovely. Our guide was very experienced in the wine industry and gave us plenty of information and shared a ton of knowledge with us.
Second stop was to a private wine dealers cellar. That was wonderful and quiet and private and we were able to taste all sorts of different wines and our guide shared a ton of insight with us.
Third stop was for lunch. Meal was wonderful, the girl who served us the meal and tasting was excellent , spoke perfect English and shared all of her insight on the family and vineyards with us.
Last stop was to a newer, larger scale winery. Quick tour of the winery and a small tasting in the basement.
The reason for my three star review.
- was definitely not worth $1000 CAD pp
-no water was offered to us in the vehicle before or between wineries, which would’ve been nice
-our guide was late to pick us up at the lunch winery and then showed up after seeing us sitting and waiting and asked if we minded if he had a coffee first… which we said, ok… but what else were we supposed to say?
-we popped into a place at the end so our guide could see a lady he fancied… not part of the itinerary and seemed pretty unprofessional
-all in all, we’ve travelled to a lot of places and done a lot of tasting experiences, and this one was the most expensive, we really hoped for a more professional experience and this one was lacking that

Jeremie was so knowledgeable and personable. He even made a dinner reservation for us. The experiences at the tastings were great. The only suggestion would be to add water between the wines to cleanse the palette. The countryside was beautiful

From the moment Leonie met us in Beaune we knew we were in for a great day. Our first tasting in Nantoux was exceptional. As tourists, we would never have found this vineyard, Charles Père et Fille. Pauline, one of the two sisters who run this family business, shared her love of their climats and wines. Then to lunch in Gevrey-Chambertin at Domaine Trapet - a fabulous meal featuring Boeuf Bourguignon and of course a selection of wines. Next came a guided tour of Chateau Vougeot, with the final act a visit to a private cellar for some more exceptional wines. All along the way, Leonie shared her knowledge of and passion for this region, it’s wines, and its people.

This was the highlight of our trip to France! We visited world class wine cellars, sampled amazing wine, enjoyed an wonderful traditional French lunch, and learned so much about Burgundy thanks to Team Authentica. We added Emmanuel and Nicolas to our address book for future visits!

Our second day of wine tours we were met by Jeremie as he picked us up at our hotel. Jeremy assessed our knowledge from day before and adjusted our tour based upon this information. Jeremie knowledge not of just the region but of the winemakers and their different styles helped us understand the subtle nuances of the wines. It was amazing as he was spot on when telling us about the wine. We started out our day at Domaine Marguerite Carillon and met by the the most energetic and fantastic guide in Sarah (Lee). Sarah’s passion and positive energy made it so fun. We were the first to experience a brand new tasting room which she designed and was beautiful. We tasted a variety of whites and reds. All were good and it was a hard decision on what and how much to purchase. Next we went to Compte Senard where we had a wonderful lunch and again great tastes including a taste of the 1999 Gran Cru Monopole Corton Clos de Meix. WOW!!! Next we went on a private tour of the 12 century castle Chateau de Clos de Vougeot.
Last stop was La Cave Priveè, Jeremie wine club. All local winemakers not available outside o France and he shared some special bottles. What a way to end the day. Thank you Jeremie. Highly recommend.

Fabulous day!
We debated when booking on the price but read the reviews and we can only agree if you only do one thing in the region do this tour !
Hubert, our tour guide, was exceptional… extremely knowledgeable and made us feel so at ease.

The day was perfect! Our Authentica Tour with Ivan was truly a highlight of our trip to France! Our tour guide brought us to elite locations where we tasted phenomenal selections of wine. The wine caves were incredible and our lunch in a cave was awesome! We also went out in the fields to see the grapes close up. Ivan was soooo knowledgeable about the area and the wine making process. This trip was beyond our expectations and worth every single dollar! Ivan was exceptional!
