      Exit cruise ship terminal and make a left turn. Look for the vendor's booth with "Tropical Adventure Tours" sign under the colorful tents,our staff with orange tshirt.We kindly ask all participants to be at the meeting point 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure to ensure a timely departure.

    Great Bonaire tour for large or small groups

    The excursion was passed onto us by others in our group. There were 10 of us in total and we had a great time. The guide and driver were very good unfortunatly I cannot remember their names and can't find them in my phone. She did say she has been on the island for 8 years. Her knowledge of the island, history and culture was very good doing tours it sometimes gets boring but not this one. I give the driver of the bus a lot of credit for managing the roads of Bonaire, he did an excellent job. If you don't want to break the bank with a ship excursion look into this tour you won't regret it.

    We had a reservation with Bonaji, to be picked up at 9:30. Our guide left without us & we were there early. Thanks to one of the other guides at the peir Elgin, he helped us, then took us on the tour. He was a life saver.

    When I booked the tour it said 9 am. We got there at quarter till. The tour did not leave until after 9:30. We were at this port until 10pm and could have booked another tour. Glad we didn’t or we would have missed it. The worst part was this is a 3 hour tour, and most everyone needed to go to the bathroom. We were told there was one at 1000 steps. It was a portapottie which would have been fine, but it had been removed. There was finally a bathroom at the very last stop. Nobody got to see anything except the line for the bathroom.

    A cultural and historical perspective

    Tour time said 9am, but after we checked in (at 8:45), we were told to wander the market or downtown area and come back at 9:30 for our 3-4 hour tour (in a 34 person bus.) We had short stops at the salt flats, mid-1850s slave huts, 1000 Steps Beach, and the oldest community, Rincon. The female guide had fun commentary and the bus driver was good. Side note: The orange staff shirts said “Tropical Adventure Tours”, not the “Bonaij Adventure Tours“as stated in our instructions. To make it more confusing, several vendors had orange shirts.

    Bad tour

    Driver was on mute, texting the whole time and driving like a bat out of hell. Couldn’t hear the speaker in the back, he never acknowledged the people in the back. Felt kind of funny all blacks were in the back and whites in the front; who he held a conversation with the whole ride. Had a couple stop one to get salt crystals but wasn’t not in the bucket.

The Driver was texting us trying to get a solution because they got problem with the radio of the bus that was connected via Bluetooth with the headset, and this please receive our apology for the malfunction of this equipment in the last moment. i would like to clear up and replay to your review. Our policy it's to identify those people that are PRM (Persons with Reduce Mobility) they have priority to embark first regardless of nationality, age, race, etc. We embark first the PRM and them we let everybody to choose their own seat. The salt bucket get refill by CARGIL which is the owner of the salt production in Bonaire. Furthermore, with this we do acknowledge you that our company address all the situation and for the next time we will keep a sharp eye in detail.

    The 1000 steps Beach and flamingos on the lake was the best part of the trip. Disappointed at the salt field and no pink color because of the off harvest season.

    This tour takes you all over the island, giving you a great overview of life on the island. Great photo stops at the salt "mountains", slave huts, lighthouse, church, shoreline, flamingoes, etc. The small house museum is interesting, too. Try the iguana soup while there. Tastes like chicken. Really!

    I did not personality go with the rest of my family on this tour, but they all said that it was one of the best they had ever taken. They particularly said that Lucy, the tour guide was fantastic.

    This tour was so much fun!! It was even better than the description. The driver was excellent, having to navigate through closed roads and small spaces. Even over flooded areas. We felt safe and he was friendly and funny. We also had a driver-in-training (pictured) sitting in the back with us who answered our questions and gave us the perspective of a resident. The bus was air conditioned which was necessary in the extreme heat. We met some great people on the tour as well. We saw lots of flamingos, a donkey, lizards and birds. We stopped at beautiful places and got some great pics!
