Rachel was great! Such a nice way to spend a sunny afternoon - walking with friends, eating delicious foods (especially loved the spelt pizza), and learning a little history of the city I call home. Would highly recommend this tour to individuals wanting to socialize, groups of friends, or even for corporate mixers.

Williamsburg Food and History Tour (Guide: Rachel)
    Sam_C, Feb 2024
Rachel is very passionate about Brooklyn and its history, and this absolutely comes through in her explanations of the Williamsburg neighbourhood. She is a regular customer at her three hand-selected food stops and has a great knowledge of the histories of each business. I can't recommend this experience enough!

Rachel was so knowledgeable about the area and the food was delicious. We left full but not stuffed, which was ideal, and everyone had a great time. Thank you, Rachel!!

Really interesting friendly and memorable tour from a true local with her name on a building to back it up and 3 fabulous food stops!
Nice Food Tour with some Brooklyn History Thrown In.
    Dave_M, Oct 2023
Rachel was a super guide and gave us a really good sense of the Brooklyn area covered on the tour and the three food stops fit in very well overall. The bagels, coffee chai and pizza were really good, particularly the pizza with its nice crispy base and crust. Well worth a visit.

Thank you for the incredibly kind words! Had a wonderful time hosting you and your family -- have a fantastic rest of your trip in NYC!
    A little bite of Brooklyn.

Rachel was a vibrant, enthusiastic tour guide who obviously loves Brooklyn and wants to share that love with those who wish to visit. Her food stops reflected the diversity and richness of the community. At each food stop you had a chance to sample something a bit out of the ordinary while listening to stories about the owners and patrons of the shops as well as their connection to the community. Her explanations about the local architecture and historical insights made for a fascinating introduction to this part of the vibrant borough of New York. All in all, we greatly enjoyed our sample of Brooklyn tour. FYI, if coming from Manhattan, take the East River Ferry to North Williamsburg for an easy commute.

Must-do! Unique blend of history and delicious NY cuisine!
    Michael_M, Oct 2023
This is a must-do if you're visiting Brooklyn or even a local in the area! Rachel provides a truly unique blend of history and delicious NY cuisine - a two-in-one tour and at a very affordable price - all within the bustling, vibrant neighborhood of Williamsburg. Rachel is brilliant and knows so much about the history of the area and all of the unique qualities of the food we ate - so delicious!!! I loved how she shared her exclusive access to the back private room at Misi - really made for a great final stop to hang out and enjoy time with our friends. 10/10 would recommend.

    A slice of Brooklyn history
    Darshdeep_H, Sep 2023
This was the perfect way to explore a neighborhood - through food! Rachel got us an egg and veggies bagel at angels cafe to start off. We then went to Qahwah house where the service was great and the restaurant staff was enthusiastic to greet us. I’m an Indian and the chai here was strong, flavorful and exactly what we get back at home. Would recommend for other Indians looking for some authentic chai. A fun fact about this place is that all the beans are sourced from Yemen, and the place is owned by Yemeni family and with a long history of coffee farming! To top it all off, the final place for fini pizza, another historic pizza place in Williamsburg. The crust and the cheese was so fresh, it’s probably the best pizza I’ve had in New York so far! Overall this was the best way for me to spend a Saturday afternoon, thank you Rachel for the guideship and bringing us great food with a slice of Brooklyn history!
    Response from Host, Oct 2023
Calling the chai exactly what you'd have back home is the ultimate compliment! And so thrilled that this is the best pizza you've had in New York!
You Need Basil On A Bagel
    Kesi_N, Sep 2023
Local food and local people are always my favorite parts about exploring a new city. Rachel puts my two favorite things into one tour. Because her family has lived in Brooklyn for so long, she has this niche knowledge about how the food in Brooklyn is intertwined with the history, architecture, nature, and migration. We started our tour at Angels Bagel Cafe. I don’t even like bagels that much and this cafe has converted me. Who the hell knew basil, prosciutto, sun-dried tomato and cream cheese belonged on warm everything bagel? I even tried to recreate this masterpiece at another nyc shop the next day and it wasn’t the same. Qahwah House was next and the coffee here took the cake for me. It’s not like coffee you have ever had before but it is coffee you will want again. And lastly we went to Fini Pizza. This was the only time that Rachel lied to us. She said it was the best pizza in New York. And respectfully, I have to say it is not the best in New York. BUT it is definitely in the top three best pizzas in New York. The ingredients alone taste like they grew everything in their own garden. It’s an impressive slice because every single ingredient from the crust to the cheese is made with intention. Definitely worth going to.

Kesi, it was such a pleasure to have you!!! You brought the best energy to the tour, and thank you for taking such wonderful photos and videos! So glad that we found a bagel that made you a huge fan!
One of my best experiences ever in Brooklyn
    Martin_D, Sep 2023
I heard about this tour from a friend, and it turned out to be one of my best experiences ever in Brooklyn! Rachel was really knowledgeable and shared so many exciting stories about the places we went to, the neighborhood, and even some of her and her family's local history. The food itself was really well selected! We had bagels at Angels Cafe, coffee at Qahwah House and pizza at Fini. I will definitely be going back to all three! My personal favorite was perhaps Qahwah because the experience of Jubani coffee was most new to me. But the bagel (for me: pesto, cream cheese, tomato, and basil) was great and the pizza was delicious. The crust at Fini is one of the absolute best I've had in the city. Rachel was really considerate of our diets too: she made sure to select vegetarian options at each stop and I never felt like I needed to compromise on the quality because of my food choices, on the contrary! Overall, the tour was really well structured: I was just full enough by the end of it, and we had perfect breaks between each place to take a pause before enjoying the next bit. I really recommend this for anyone who loves food or wants to experience the city and its history a little differently!
    Response from Host, Sep 2023
Martin, I'm so thrilled that this was one of your best experiences in Brooklyn! I'm so glad you loved the Jubani coffee -- this is the speciality of Qahwah House, and I know it would mean so much to them!
