First, the tour was available, so I was upset that things didn't work out schedule-wise. However, Mihai was great an actually messaged me directly to ask what our plans were. He was able to arrange a tour even though it was not originally offered, so kudos to him for reaching out. Next, we were not able to take the tour with Mihai, so I was a little worried when he informed me that it would not be him taking us around, but one of his colleagues. I decided to go with it, and boy was it worth it. He set us up with a friend Adrian, who also runs tours in the area highly recommend. Adrian got in touch with us early on it was just two of us, and was respectful, prompt, and super knowledgeable. He picked us up right on time at 0730 at our apartment downtown and drove us everywhere throughout the day.
First was the mine, which was great with him as our guide. Next, the winery, which was absolutely awesome, and lastly, we were not able to visit the muddy volcanoes, but Adrian had a nice little stop at a cool monastery on an island in Snagov, which was a nice way to end the day. In all, we had an awesome time. Mihai, though I never met him, was a good coordinator and helpful. Adrian was great as well. Fun, excellent English, and the perfect amount of chatty while not being overbearing. It's rare to get a tour guide like this. Great experience in Romania!
