Brilliant Guide & Enjoyable Trip

Very enjoyable trip. Our guide was knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions in great detail. The only negative was that our poor guide was under considerable pressure giving the tour in both Spanish & English and the trip to Buda felt very rushed (again not the guides fault). The Parliament visit was very worthwhile and I would recommend this excursion.

Great tour

We only booked this city tour as it offered access to The Parliament. All the other tours were booked out on the day we had free. However we were delighted that we did as we enjoyed the city tour as much as the tour of the Parliament. The city tour was very interesting and driving around by bus gave us a good idea of the layout of the 2 parts of the city and buildings/areas we would like to go back and see. We learnt a lot about the history of Budapest and Hungary from Agnes which was fascinating. The Parliament is stunning and very interesting. Sadly it closed before we had time to look fully at the last information hall and gift shop.

Great way to see a big city

I've been on the city bus tour before and still recommend it as a great way to get your bearings in Budapest. It was my second time in Budapest but my sister's first time, and this tour showed her some of the sights we had not otherwise planned on our routes. Our guide was great - very engaging and fun. The only thing we didn't plan on was that the Parliament tour would be so long after the end of the bus tour - our bus tour ended at about 1 pm, and our Parliament entry wasn't until 2:30. We had other things planned for the late afternoon that we had to rework, and we ended up a bit late for dinner. So I would just make sure you don't plan on the ENTIRE tour to be 4 hours - the bus tour is 3 hours, then the Parliament tour is about an hour, but possibly not immediately after the bus tour. Other than that, it's a great tour, and I highly recommend.

The guide should check to see if everyone has the AC working before starting out .a description of what sites will be seen would be helpful in choosing between this and other tours.

Not our favorite tour

The best part of the tour was the interior parliament tour, which could be purchased separately. Although it was a nice way to get around both sides of the city quickly, there were only a couple stops and it was difficult to see that much from the car. In addition one couple was late and our guide spent a lot of time taking phone calls to try to meet up with the missing people.

You are basically paying for the Parliament tour.The guide was not informative and was speaking in multiple languages so half the time was wasted waiting while she spoke in a second language.We were mislead and told English only.The bus tour was a waste.We couldn’t see out the windows.We’re not told historical information and didn’t make many stops.

Parliament tour was the highlight of this tour. Would recommend dividing groups who can maintain a faster pace from who need more time on walking portions.

Guide was rather unprepared. A lot of umming and ahih.ing Walked at a pace that was unfit for some of the group.

Visit to the Parliament. While stopping at Buda Castle all we did was stand on a very busy, noisy corner where we could not hear the guide while she talked on and on. We had an hour in which we could have gone into the church. Quite disappointed.

We loved the tour! George was FANTASTIC he is so friendly, knowledgeable and more than happy to share the history and stories of his beautiful city. We were very lucky as another couple had canceled and we basically had a private tour. Our tour had to be rescheduled because of a national holiday and Viktoria made the process simple and efficient. Do not hesitate, book this tour today. Budapest is the best!

Average tour, similar to Hop On/Off, without Hop Off

The tour is mainly a Hop On, Hop Off experience without hopping off. We stopped briefly at Heroes Square for a short walking tour and at Buda Castle's residential area for a quick photo session at Fisherman's bastion. The tour guide was easy to understand and was replaying the information in English and German. She encouraged questions, but sadly was unable to provide answers. The tour finishes by dropping you off at the parliament building (not starting point) with the tour guide procuring entry tickets to the Parliament building. This tour will give you a quick highlight of Budapest's sites, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Really disappointing and not worth the money or time invested. I should have selected a different event...thought tour was English but was hybrid of Spanish and English so double the translations and double the time also tour guide got into an arguement with another Spanish tour guide (in Spanish) while getting our group tickets at Parliament Building and explaining what was to happen. Both guides were very unprofessional. Very disappointing.

Not what we expected

Guide was nice but was supposed to be English tour. Well, 1/2 of it was English but the other half was in German. They should do either one but not both. Also, 45 minute Parliament tour was actually about 25 after going through security and being rushed through in a very large group. Could not get near the photo ops due to crowd.

Disappointing

We were excited about this tour because we’ve done other similar tours in the past in other cities and have amazing experiences. However that would not be the case for The Budapest city tour. It seemed like last minute the tour was blended to be both English and Spanish speaking tour. That alone would have been fine except often the guide would forget to switch between languages and only one group would get to understand what she was saying. I personally love being told a lot of historical facts during the times we are stuck in traffic, which has happened on any city; sadly though that wasn’t the case. We were driven to certain designated spots such as Heroes Square but were not told about who the statues were for and our guide did not walk the square with us. We were simply dropped off for 15 minutes to walk around and then loaded back into the van to sit in more traffic on our way to the Buda side. Again with little to no historical facts on the drive. The most interesting part of the tour, the Parliament building, was not even given by our tour guide. She simply picked up the tickets and instructed us on where to be when the tour started. So of the 4 hours we paid for 1 hour was the parliament tour (given by someone at the parliament building separate from our tour), 1 hour is free time to roam around Matthias Church and the Fisherman’s Bastion, approximately 15 minutes at Heroes Square. The rest of the time is spent in the car with little to no interesting information presented. My suggestion save your money and take the subway to the various sights.
