This was exactly what we were hoping for!! Beautiful boat, maximum 12 people, excellent crew and plentiful drinks! The amazing whales we saw were a bonus! Highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a personalized sunset sail!

Whale Watching Adventure: Navigating Delays, Delights and Photo Mysteries

My experience was rather unique due to a flight delay, which in turn affected my transportation to the hotel. Upon notifying the operator of the delay, I encountered a lack of sympathy and the option of a potential solutions. Essentially, they insisted I adhere to the original pick-up time. Despite racing to make the shuttle, the outset of my excursion was marked by stress and lacked enjoyment. However, the actual experience turned out to be quite pleasurable. We were fortunate to witness whales, and the sunset was exceptionally beautiful. The crew proved to be fantastic, and the snacks, featuring guacamole and seafood salsa, were delicious. The fellow passengers on the boat were friendly and added to the overall enjoyment. It's worth noting that the boat accommodates up to 15 people, so if you prefer a more private activity, this may not be the ideal choice. Upon our return, there was some confusion surrounding the purchase of photos. I would recommend the excursion, but it's essential to be mindful of the distance between your hotel and the MeetUp location, as a longer shuttle ride may be required.

Bait and Switch

We were not provided the service paid for. We purchased a sunset luxury tour, which was supposed to be on a catamaran with premium open bar and snacks. The photo advertised showed two people sitting at a table. The ad said we would have to pay $5 port fees. When we got there they doubled the port fees to $10 each and put us on a sail boat. I specifically did not buy the sunset sailing package because I do not feel safe on sail boats. We were given a mimosa and offered another drink but I was so uncomfortable with being on a sail boat I did not feel safe letting go of the rope to enjoy the trip. I repeatedly told the staff that this was not what we purchased but no one cared. The captain and crew on the sail boat were extra friendly and it was not their fault we were not given what we paid for. This is our honeymoon and should be special not completely disappointing.

Very slow ride around the arch

The ride is VERY slow. They kinda of just "idle" along, so you feel every wave to it's max. We took this to see the arch and go around it a bit. The slowness of the speed made the trip boring after a while as you are just kinda just trotting along. No real engagement from the crew either, not tidbits, no history. The drinks were definitely good though. Overall not our cup of tea, my wife and daughter didn't enjoy the tour either.

We are sorry to read You did not enjoy the Sunset and Cruise around the Arch and Cabo San Lucas Bay. Perhaps one of the larger Party Cruises would have been a better choose for You. Cabo Hugs

Great way to spend an evening. The tour guide and boat operator were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The snacks and drinks provided during the tour were a great addition to a wonderful evening.

We felt the Luxury Cabo Sunset Tour was "bait & switch."

I have used Viator to book several tours in the past and this was the first time I was really disappointed. When searching for a "Luxury Sunset Tour" in Cabo on your App, we settled on one showcasing a boat called the Albatross. Rather than pay for 5 tickets and get reimbursed by our friends, we bought 2 tickets and gave them the exact tour to book so we could all be together. Well, since we were staying at different hotels, they arrived sooner than us, and after checking in, they were shuttled off to a boat at the marina operated by Cabo Adventures. They didn't realize it was a different operator until they boarded. And the same for us. We weren't allowed to get on their boat, and they didn't think about trying to wait for us. We just assumed we would be on the same boat. We have done many sunset cruises in Cabo over the past 30+ years and have never had our reservation sold to another operator. We were very disappointed and the guide didn't seem to give a hoot. When we book the Caborey, Sun Rider, etc... we get that tour. This time, we definitely did not get what we booked through Viator. Buyer beware, or book all tickets together and check in as a group if in doubt! The cruise its self was just OK. The captain seemed bored to death and it was a very subdued crowd. Our friends actually saw whales from their boat! We did not. You would think the other boat would have shared their good fortune with our captain. The food & drinks were OK, just a snack box to share, but clearly not luxurious.

Comfortable boat and great crew

It is a small bought which allows for a much more intimate experience. Very comfortable with couches inside, hammock in the back and seats upfront. The crew was very friendly, attentive and just nice. They went out of the way to chase after whales (not part of the plan) and we got to see a few up close. We had a family with older and younger people and worked well. For couples, I recommend a small sailing boat as well. The sunsets are magical in cabo.
