Overview

Admire the sea caves around Capri on the intimacy of a short private cruise with a local as a guide-skipper. On board a boat for no more than 12 people, you will cruise along a scenic route passing the stacks of Capri, the Punta Carena lighthouse and a selection of sea caves, the most famous of which is the Blue Grotto. Lucas boat was absolutely amazing one of my favorite days in Italy! He was kind, funny and made sure we all had a great time. We got to go into the blue grotto, swam in different areas and explored capri. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone.

Great trip around Capri! Luca is a great host and even though the morning of our trip was rainy and dull - it cleared up by the afternoon and it was beautiful!

Had a great trip over to Capri. Was sad it was cloudy and our guide told us it wouldn’t be the same experience with overcast weather. We would’ve only waited for 20 minutes is all the line was, and he was willing to wait if anyone wanted to go! We met another young couple and hung out with them the rest of the day!

Good boat ride however please be aware that this is not going to be the right tour if you want to go to the blue grotto or if you want to go snorkeling. The tour guide was ok, he only gave us one drink and took us to his restaurant on Capri to eat lunch, which he claims is his ‘friend’s’ shop. Luca was otherwise on his phone the whole trip or just disinterested. It might be cheaper just to catch the public ferry as this was pretty much the lacklustre experience we got from this tour!

This was 10/10. Tony was our captain and he was fantastic, plenty of swims along the way and although the blue grotto was closed due to high tide he took us to another cave which was just as beautiful and let us swim through it. Sandwiches provided were delicious, don't pack lunch or drinks as plenty of cold water, beer and soft drink were available on board. Wouldn't change a thing and would 100% do again.

The crew were very friendly. We couldn’t see blue grotto because of hi tide. We had no lefty of swim and island time but I wish the crew offered more drinks as they stayed such has persecco and other beverages.

If you want to see blue grotto, this is NOT the tour for you

If you want to experience the blue grotto, this is NOT the boat tour for you. My partner and I had a boat tour booked with another company but unfortunately it got cancelled the day before, scrambling to find a tour we came across this one. We saw it’s a blue grotto + Capri tour and had everything we wanted, guess it was too good to be true. We got to the port and was greeted by our guides, they did not provide a breakdown of how the day was going to go nor did they explain a little about themselves. We set sail and after about 30 minutes arrived around Capri, they provided us with water/ beer & we stopped to swim for about 30/45 minutes however no one on our boat wanted to get out at that time. They kept the boat parked there the entire time, instead of making way to the blue grotto. Once we got to the blue grotto, they explained what it was and kept sailing by it explaining how they’re too many boats and it’s a 2+ hour wait. I stopped them and said that I paid for this tour to go to the blue grotto and that we would like to go. Only me and my partner out of 5 others on the boat wanted to go, but that should not matter because it is advertised on this companies page as a blue grotto tour and that we can go as long as we pay additional entry, which we were willing to pay up to 50€ for. It felt like this company just did not want to spend the time waiting, instead of parking infront of Capri for 45 minutes we could have been in line at the grotto. They did not once ask how many of us would like to go, which they should have done at the beginning of the tour. We waited for the blue grotto for 30 minutes and got to the front of the line, then the police showed up and they immediately said we had to leave because the police slow down the number of boats that go into the blue grotto and it would take even longer. I wanted to leave the tour at this point. We embarked on Capri Island and they provided us with a sandwich each, we had 3 hours of free time. They told us to use the time to take a cab to the blue grotto and go see it ourselves, this would have been an additional cost that I shouldn’t have to pay since I paid >400+ for this tour. After Capri island we got back on the boat and passed through the Capri rocks, we were able to get out and swim again shortly after before heading back to shore. I think this company should either remove the blue grotto from there description or make two seperate tours for those who prefer to see the blue grotto and reduce the time on Capri island.

Unfortunately we could have saved $50.00 by purchasing tickets at the local tour office. No mention of the €15..00 per person charge to transfer from your boat to a row boat to see the blue grotto cavern. Precarious conditions to make the transfer!

Boat was fine. We were on the owners agenda. They pushed us to eat at their restaurant at the time that worked for them. Very disappointed in the overall experience.

I am really very very disappointed, yesterday all the people were very happy, I got a €200 tip. Why say these things that are not true. I don't have any restaurant, I just said that instead of giving the usual take away sandwich you had a credit of €8 at the restaurant, I'm thrilled.

We met Lucas at the bar near the docks at 9am. Waited for the remainder of the group before leaving. The boat was completely booked but was not cramped. The weather was not the best so we were unable to visit the blue grotto. We visited many other grottos along the coast of capri with amazing views. Lucas offered beers and drinks for the trip which was great. We stopped at the small marina in capri and had 3 hours of free time to enjoy some drinks, have lunch and explore. I would definitely recommend Lucas’ boat to anyone wanting to visit capri.

The best way to see Capri

It was a wonderful day seeing the Almafi Coast by boat and would recommend this to all. Went with a group of friends and all of us enjoyed every moment ! We weren’t able to see Blue Gratto because it was over and hour wait to get in for 5 minutes. All those on the boat agreed to skip it. But we did see many other caves that were spectacular. Just for that alone , this tour deserved 5 ⭐️ . A little disappointed that we were offered a drink once about an hour into the ride, not offered a snack or anything else the rest of the trip. Unfortunately , the boat was carrying 13 people( should have been less) and he captain (Lucas) spent his time talking and texting on his phone while driving ( all day) for this reason I have rated this a 3 star ⭐️ tour

Overbooked on the rough seas

I will start with saying the weather made the whole experience a little less than pleasant, but the fact that there were 14 people instead of 12 made it even more unpleasant. We no option to move about the boat the seating situation was horrible, this is not a “fancy” or a “luxury” experience when one thinks of a boat ride. Having done it, I wouldn’t recommend. The captain and his dad were fine, not the nicest but I understand they were stressed with choppy sea, but there no conversation to be had. Also getting off and on the boat were difficult as you had to take another little boat in Capri to get on their boat and in Sorrento you had to climb out on to the pier and hoist yourself up to the walk way. So you need to be able to do that.

Luca’s Boat was amazing! Our group had 12 people total which fit very comfortably on the boat. We left Sorrento for Capri at 9:30. Once we got near Capri we started driving around the island and Luca pointed out all the main sites. We skipped the Blue Grotto due to long lines but were able to stop twice to go swimming which was amazing. Luca provided water, soft drinks, and beer on the boat which was very generous. We stopped on the island around noon at Marina Piccola and then had 3.5 hours of free time. We had enough time to shop, ride the funiculare, and get a drink. Luca also got us lunch at a reduced price. We got back to Sorrento at 5, so about 8 hours total for the entire day. Would highly recommend this experience!

A day out to remember

An amazing day aboard Luca’s boat. We left the Porto di sorrento (meeting point was Ristorante Ruccio) approx 9:30 and sailed smoothly towards Capri. Compared to the majority of other boats on the water, we were going slow - but this meant a steadier journey and for those who get sea sick easily - a much more enjoyable one. After approx 1hr, we stopped for a swimming stop in crystal clear water before leaving the Sorrento coastline for Capri. This swimming stop was welcome as the heat of the day was rising at this stage. Due to the high tide caused by the storms of days previous, the blue grotto was closed, but this was of minimal disappointment as the rest of the day was so good. Arriving on Capri approx 30mins later, we had free roam for a further 90 minutes - this was cut short due to the thunderstorm arriving at Sorrento at 5pm (although this cut the day short slightly, it did not feel one bit rushed) Plenty to see on Capri and busses and taxis will take you to Capri and Anacapri from the harbour if you wish. Again, the return from Capri to Sorrento was a little rushed with the impending storm - around 1hour took us back to the Porto Di Sorrento. Drinks and a grilled sandwich were provided on the boat, fantastic information from the skipper/tour guide and an all round unforgettable day provided!
