We booked this experience day off and were quickly contacted by Craven via WhatsApp to confirm pickup/meeting location. The meeting location was a touch tricky — they say behind the hospital but mean the beach there, not the back entrance. The rest of the trip went without a hiccup. Carlos was our guide and he was great! We took a boat across to the island. It was windy and a little choppy but nothing more than you would expect in ocean waters. The views were great. We got a crash course on ATVs and then were off. You have your guide and one more staff member with you and they do a great job of giving instructions, as well as adding touches such as taking videos of you riding. We got a “tour” of Fuerte San Fernando while stopped in Bocachica that was entertaining even if half of the information was likely fabricated. Keep some change on you, both to tip Craven, the fort tour guide, and the children in the village trying to sell popsicles or other goods. You’ll definitely get covered in dust so don’t wear too nice of stuff. Overall we really enjoyed this and would go again!

Carlos was great. Gave a great tour but the coolest part was seeing the castle built in 1750. Carlos was very knowledgeable, communicative and timely.

Four of us took the ATV tour and it was AWESOME! The guides were extremely vigilant and made safety their upmost priority especially when they noticed I needed help a few times I highly highly reccomend this tour don’t miss out!

Best ATV tour I’ve been on. We were actually allowed to have fun and let loose (with safety still in mind). We rode through some challenging uphill and rocky trails, dirt roads, beaches, and the village. 10/10 experience and our guide Carlos was the best.

The tour was well organised and Carlos was a great guide but had I known what the tour was I wouldn’t have done it. The pictures depict a mostly beach drive, but this wasn’t the case. Driving along the beach was maybe 5-10 minutes of the 2 hour tour, the rest was through a very impoverished community with garbage everywhere and extremely skinny/malnourished dogs everywhere. It was very sad and we felt terrible driving through their community stirring up dust on our atvs we paid hundreds of dollars for while they are all obviously very poor. They also stopped the tour for a break on a beach where we just got hounded by vendors that would not leave us alone (1000x worse than in Cartagena) and seemed like this was a set up by the tour to bring us to these vendors because there was no other reason to stop there.

We are so glad you said what you said. that is the reason why I love that community so much. Craven adventures does amazing work with the community .. We supply jobs and opportunity, and growth I would love to see at the grand opening of the hospital we are building. Or the Christmas toy drive . We have guest who looks down cause you think they are Poor but truly they are beautiful and happy people where family is important and we are family … you leave a bad review but offer no help only makes you look bad. Then you said there wasn’t a beach but then said you stopped at beach 😂😂😂

More than ATVs

We’re not big ATV people but decided to give this trip a try and had a great time! Our guide Carlos was amazing and worked hard to make sure everyone was safe and had fun. The trip goes along dirt paths to Bocachica a small village on the water where you’re approached by guys selling necklaces etc. The contrast of the basic living conditions to the beautiful scenery is eye opening. The boat trip back and forth to Tierra Bomba is fun with great views of the city. Overall this trip is great and way more than “just” riding ATVs.

The night before i was supposed to take this tour I lost my phone and that caused a huge disruption to my trip and plans but the guides for this tour were very accomdating they allowed me to reschedule my tour to another day and it was an awesome time they did their absolute best to make sure everybody stayed safe and enjoyed themselves and everyone did and I got see several beautiful beahces that otherwise I would never have known about

Definitely a unique experience. Chris was a wonderful guide. He and his team were patient with us aa we navigated driving ann ATV for the first time. They had the perfect balance of safety and fun. When we got to the fort, Chris had a great amount of information and kept it interactive for the kids. The village we went to was impoverished. With that said, the locals at the village were so friendly and kind. No pushy sales people, which is rare for the Carribean. It puts life into perspective. Expect a lot of fun. Wear clothes that you are ok getting very dirty.

Great time. You get very dirty so dress appropriately. Be prepared with some extra spending $ for souvenirs and fresh shucked oysters and tips for the tour guides at the fort.
