Great experience. Staff from Tourist Wonders was VERY Good from booking, to follow up, to making sure we got to and from the island. Great staff at the Baru restaurant/bar as well. Highly recommend this as a must book when visiting Cartagena.

Delicious Food

We booked this tour the day before because it was a good price for what it included, and had an English tour guide. Once booked I contacted the tour group to ask about towels, and was informed to ask the restaurant for them once arrived. Arrived at the port, paid the taxes and got an empanada and coffee at their stand inside port security by gates 4 or 5 (delicious). Once on the boat, our tour guide did not speak English. All announcements were in Spanish, but the crew was helpful. Once arrived to the island, we get to the restaurant/beach area for this tour. The lounge chairs definitely need to be replaced. I asked our server and another worker at the place for towels and they said they don't provide towels. I showed them the text and they apologized but no they don't have any towels (BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS FROM THE HOTEL). Inside the restaurant, there are flies around the tables, so be prepared to fan your food while eating. NOW...the food... absolutely delicious! I would go back just for that fresh fish, rice and their homemade mango lemonade drink. Our waitress, Camilla, was very nice and helpful. The beach has some rocks in the water so be careful going in. The water is beautiful though and a nice stroll on the beach. They also have venders selling multiple things on the beach and massage therapists.

The water was warm and clear! However, what wasn’t warm and clear were the directions on where to arrive (which port). We went on a Saturday and where we ended up, as we were told, on a public beach. It was crowded and had lots of vendors. It was difficult to relax. Boats were docked near the beach/swimming area. The folks who did lunch were extremely wonderful! The boat ride on the return was not enjoyable at all. The boat was going way too fast. It certainly was an unforgettable day, but not for the right reasons.

Crystal Clear water

We stayed in the walled city and walked to the dock. they communicated where to go which was door #1. Once we got there that's when the confusion began. You don't know who you're looking for and who is trying to sell you another trip. Luckily we had a gentleman help us find who we were looking for. Please when you go bring COLOMBIAN PESOS in different denominations. You will pay there a fee in cash. There is an atm but as we all know fees and fees to convert to your home currency. The boat you get on to is a speedboat and we arrived quickly to our stop. It was beautiful water clear, warm all the people working there very nice. My daughter had a pina colada it was fresh and tasted amazing. The lunch that was provided tasted local and light. We didn't feel bloated or over stuffed it was a perfect portion. As expected you have people trying to sell stuff just relax and sleep or say no thank you. We opted to get the massage, which you pay for, ladies did a great job. The cost was cheaper then my co-pay to see my chiropractor and to get my massages in the US. It's worth it. Make sure to bring everything you need towels sun block and we packed waters with us too. They provided the umbrellas and cushion but if you need a towel they charge. They do sell other items if you wish to buy drinks. Ok the speedboat ride back. Horrible. It was windy we were flying up out of our seats literally jumping waves. It was extremely scary and nothing I expected. I can honestly say I almost had a panic attack. I wanted off. It was like that most the ride back. During our time I heard it's windy this time of the year. I'm still giving the excursion a 5 star because our purpose was to go to Isla Baru and relax which we did. I can't blame the operator for the weather.

Fun Excursion. Must Improve Communication

Isla Barú was beautiful. You really will have a panoramic view of the colorful and beautiful Carribean Sea. The waters were so warm and relaxing. I was able to do jet skis and make friends with the locals. The weather was good as well as the food that was included in the price. I got the fish and it fresh. This excursion also includes a beach chair and umbrella. I had a good time at this Isla. It was the 2nd time I'd visited in the week that I was in Cartagena. The first time was with the 5 island tour. I would encourage you to do both excursions. I knocked off a star because it was very disorganized in terms of meetup spot once at Door 1 and communication. There are simple ways for this tour group to easily identify their pickup spot if they put effort into it, because the instructions sent via WhatsApp were very confusing. Also, they asked everyone to arrive at 8:20am but the boat didn't leave until 9:30am. Very little English was spoken, which can be scary and frustrating when the pickup area isn't clear and you don't want to be left behind. I also feel that water/soda should had been unlimited instead of just 1 small cup of lemonade. They also allowed me to book for January 1st, just to cancel and reschedule for Jan 2nd. More organization and coordination is needed. If they improve their communication, the tour will be 5 stars, for sure. Please keep in mind that a tip goes a long ways. Try to support the tour guides Hector and Greisis as well as the locals. The tour guides are doing the best they can and for the locals, your tips help them provide for their families. This excursion was well worth the $40. I would book again.

The most memoravle moment was to get to the Island of Baru. The scenery is beautiful and full of lively people. It was hot and the water was warm. The host Hector was good and served a wonderfullmeal. It was really tasty. If yousoeak spanish, he is the person to talj to. I really had a good time on the iskand.

Detestamos esse passeio. Embarcaçoes bem perigosas. O restaurante nao tinha agua nos banheiros e nem pra lavar as. mais. Pessimo nivel. Lugar na praia caindo aos pedaços. Somente o almoço estava bom. Nao recomendo!!!! Fujam de Praia Tranquila, q de tranquila nao tem nada…
