From the very start our guide Simone was friendly, funny & very knowledgeable. It was a small group (8 visitors) which I found lovely as by the end we were all like old friends. The tour itself was amazing, Simone gave us information on the villages we drove through, and the differing landscapes/vegetation as a result of the eruptions over history, and spoke about the history of Scicily itself. We took the cable car further up the mountain (a must do), but unfortunately due to the weather the buses were unable to take us further so we chose to trek up higher on foot., exhilarating & cold we encountered a snow storm. Four seasons in 2 hours, it was amazing. The wine tasting was an absolute gem, friendly knowledgeable and attentive hosts offering tasty local produce. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone.. One of our top highlights of our time in Scicily.

Francesco was an amazing guide. Lots of really good information, and facilitated an excellent day. The wine tour at the end served generous portions of both wines and food. Both were excellent in quality.

Amazing tour to Etna and winery

This was an AMAZING tour. Simone was a great guide, with super positive energy and very informative all the time. Everything was well organised, on time and fun! When you get to Etna you have 3 choices (and everyone in the group can pick whatever they like more): go up with cable car (70 euro), go up with electric bike (80 euro) or go around on ATVs (130 euro per ATV, up to 2 people per vehicle). All options are with a guide. I went with the e-bike and it was super fun. You need to be in moderate shape though, it's not the easiest. No matter the option, the views are breathtaking. Then after Etna you get to a local winery for food and wine tasting and oh my, how good it is! Totally worth it over the "regular" Etna tour.

Wonderful Experience

We had a wonderful experience on the Mt Etna tour. Our guide, Simone, was knowledgeable, personable, and easy to talk with for the entire day. He made it easy to get to know the other guests on the tour, and by the end, it felt like we had made several new friends. My wife and I choose to rent the electric assist bikes to bike to the top of Etna. It was a great experience, but we are both in very good shape, and still found it challenging at times, in case that's helpful. That said, I would do it again in a heartbeat. You can also choose to simply stay at the arrival area and walk around (there are several craters there), or ride the cableway to the top. The cableway or bikes were both around $80 euros additional per person. The wine tasting and provided food are extensive, you will leave full. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Catania. Well worth it!

My family has been touring for 7 days. This tour was the BEST of all of them. Simone was entertaining and super fun. We paid extra to ride the cable car higher on the volcano. It was totally worth it, but not necessary. Simone took others on a hike that chose not to continue up. There were people hiking everywhere with great views all around. Like others have said, the wine/food tasting is the highlight and a great end to the hike. I highly recommend this tour.

This was a great tour. We learned a lot about the volcano and had some time to trek the craters. The wine tasting that followed was an amazing experience as we enjoyed some of the harvest from Etna. Grazie!

A great day not to be misaed

Etna was amazing, at 3000 meters the wind was blowing, it was like being on another planet. We highly recommend going to the top. The wine and lunch was excellent and abundant, eat as little as possible before the arriving for the feast. The food and wine pairing is very good and their are liquors to taste at the end. Francisco, our guide, knew everything and would share as much as you wanted, we talked with him about many things Sicily.

We had an awesome time. Our driver Nando was awesome. So informative and so pleasant. He took care of all of us. Being able to see Mount Etna and with Nando explaining all about the area, the previous eruptions, all of the craters in the area, and the history. Moving to the wine tasting was very enjoyable. Food and wine was great. Our host was also very informative about both the food and wine. This was definitely a memorable experience. We had a 9 month old through a 69 year old.

We loved this small group excursion to Etna and the wine tasting/food extravaganza that followed it. The guide - Simone - was incredibly informative, humorous and engaging and made everyone feel welcome. Where Etna is concerned, it is important to know that you can either stay close to the base and walk around with Simone or you can pay a supplement (which we did) and ride the funicular to get up closer and hike around. And what to say about the wine tasting other than it was wonderful! The wines were delicious, the food that accompanied it was very tasty. A great experience overall.

Great Day on Etna

Spent a lovely day on Mount Etna but unfortunately it was so windy the gondolas and buses that would go to higher elevations weren’t operating. Still had a great time. Pay attention to the comment about cooler temps as you go up. It REALLY dropped. The wine tasting afterwards was amazing. Fantastic food and wine and a great array of wines and olive oil. It all was absolutely delicious.

Giuseppe was a wonderful tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was very helpful to the older travelers in our group. Mt Etna was amazing but the wine tasting was even better. Wine was delicious and the food selections were numerous and very tasty. Giuseppe was a 15 on a scale of 1 to 10. Great excursion!!!

Simone was a fantastic host. He was such good fun and his knowledge and passion for his home city of Catania was second to none! He shared fun informative stories on the way to Etna and made the group feel very relaxed and excited. Although we managed to get up the volcano after the cable car ride the weather became too harsh to continue on the tour further up, however Simone ensured we still had a great experience with cave tours, craters, and of course the food/wine experience which was simply superb and ample for everyone. It was a great way to spend my birthday!

In early May, we were expecting hot temperatures but instead got snow on Mt Etna. It was still great fun riding the quad bikes around the summit with flurries falling all around us. Such a beautiful place. The winery at the base of the mountain that we were taken to was phenomenal! Incredible hospitality, wine, and so much delicious food!

This is a wonderful experience! We were picked up near our hotel and Carmelo did a fabulous job of guiding us through the day. Not only did he explain what we were seeing but also provided personal insight into the culture of Sicily. The trip to Mt. Etna via cable car was a highlight - only to be followed by an incredible food and wine tasting experience. Everything was perfect! Highly recommended!!

Dissapointment with the Mt. Etna part, satisfaction with the wine tasting

We would split the trip to 2 parts: first - Mt. Etna "hike" - the description of the trip is not specific. After we read it, we thought that the price included a hike to the top (at least to more than 5 meters above the restaurants and parking lot). We basically walked for 30 minutes around one crater and that was it. But there was an option to pay a cable way (ticket for 30 €) to get you at least to the 2500 m.a.s.l. Also, the description says tracking shoes included - it was not included and if you wanted them, you had to pay 8 € (the same for the jacket). We were hanging around 2.5-3 hours in the restaurant/bar waiting for basically nothing. But I must add, that the weather was rather bad - foggy, cloudy. But when we saw pictures of those, who took the cable way, the inversion was amazing and it was sunny. Second part: the wine tasting experience - this was on the other hand amazing. Stuff was very friendly, took us for a tour around their winery, they served us with 4 samples of great wine and so so so many food variations (cheese, salami, ham, pistachio dezert, vegetable balls, special lasagne etc.). It was really amazing and we enjoyed this part to our max. But visiting the top of Mt Etna should have been the highlight of the trip. Maybe we had a bad luck with our guide.

In the description of the tour we never mention that customers will reach the top of the volcano; furthermore as far as you can see in the section "what is included", there is a special highlight for the cable car and cable car + 4x4 bus + alpine guide which are not included in the price and are "to be paid on the spot" Of course, shoes are included in the price upon request (since the guide brings them from our headquarters), but unfortunately we have not received your request in advance, rather we confirm that the jackets are not included. We hope that this will help you and other customers to have more transparency about what is included and excluded from the price. Best regards

Favorite experience at Mt Etna

Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We spent the extra $$ to ride the quads once we arrived at Mt Etna. It is worth it to be outside and ride through the woods and lava flows. Jackets and gloves were included in our quad adventure. Afterward, we went to the winery and sampled various wines from the slopes of Mount Etna and Sicilian foods. So delicious and a lovely and unique setting. This is not to be missed!

Heading to the top of Mount Etna was breathtaking. Otherworldly landscape, clumps of snow… Our guide Simone was extremely knowledgeable and funny Our wine tasting was full of yummy local appetizers and four delicious local wines - all had very strong flavours. Would do it again!

Climbing up the steep hill to see site of 2001 eruption. Wine tasting and food was excellent. Matteo was a good host.
