Nice tour!

Tour was especially helpful in being able to experience these exceptional areas. Our tour was part of a 2-group 2-guide tour . Our guide, Marco, was excellent; highly recommend him. The main guide continued to smoke while walking in front of us. That was the only disappointment.

I really enjoyed this tour. The tour guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and experienced. They comfortably led a diverse group. We enjoyed the historical commentary from our guide (Alessio) and the Siragusa walk experiencing the ruins. Also we like Oritigia and seeing the temples and had nice authentic Sicilian street food. Neto was rainy but we learned about the flower festival in May and ate great gelato!

This tour was well-paced, with just enough time at each stop. I never felt rushed, and appreciated the information provided by the guide on the way, which helped me make the most of the experience. The driver/guide was knowledgeable, and responded well to the particular interests of each member of our small group. His warm and friendly attitude made the day special.

The tour was very good and our driver tour guide was excellent. Siracusa was cool and we loved the open markets that we saw. Our tour guide showed us everything in Siracusa and Noto leaving nothing to spare. We loved the historical sites we saw and the cathedrals and castles along the way. We will definitely be be back in the future for sure. Thank you for the great experience Robert and Sherry Scire'

Noto really stood out as an amazing Baroque town on a grand scale and the ruins of Syracuse were well worth the visit - a great 10 hour tour from Catania

Not up to Viator standards

Our guide Sandra obviously loves Ortigia and this was the best part of the tour. The walk through Noto was unremarkable and she dropped us off at the Syracusa archeological park wirh only 1.5 hours allotted to tour the entire park. The most glaring disappointment was that instead of an air conditioned mini van, we were picked up in a small Seat Clio, along with another couple... also no AC. That meant 2 hours travel each way with 5 people squshed into this tiny car. Riding with the windows cracked for ventilation meant our guide was not able to give us any info on the drive... which felt like a lot of wasted time. This tour was not up to the standard we have come to expect from Viator. If we had to do it again, we would have refused to start the tour and requested a refund.

Avoid doing business with Sicily Grand Tour

At 6pm Local time in Sicily a message was sent to me via email advising me that due to illness of our guide that our trip would be cancelled, and that it was too late to find a substitute. No phone call or text. It was not until 0700 in the morning the day of our tour, that I found the message advising that our trip was cancelled. This was extremely poor customer service. A phone call or text would have been the proper course of action, or better yet, with all of the guide's connections, find us another guide, Within 15 minutes, our hotel receptionist was able to arrange the same tour to Siracusa, Ortigia and Noto with another tour operator. I would avoid doing business with Sicily Grand Tour if this is how they do business. This neglect could have ruined our entire stay in Sicily.

Dear James, hope this finds you well! I am very sorry that we had to cancel the tour but YES, it happens that we get sick and YES, it happens that we can't find a replacement in time. We really care that our standards are high and a driver/guide with fever cannot guarantee a good standard (of safety, above all). About the email received at 7 in the morning, which, by the way, was sent the afternoon before, I used the VIATOR PM system, the only tool that the provider allows us to use to contact our customers (I didn't know if they would send you an email or a text). Also, I personally receive calls, texts and emails on the same device. When the fever rose (in the afternoon of the previous day), I immediately contacted the provider explaining the problem and instantly asking to inform and refund you (I think you have received your money back). We are pleased that you were able to arrange a new tour in less than 15 minutes, thanks to the receptionist. This means it wasn't such a big problem! Luckily this “didn't ruin your whole stay in Sicily”...

We have kept the Viator info to pass along because it was a great trip.

The guide/driver is so knowledgable and fun. Slowed his pace if we were going uphill and the 3rd passenger was good company so we were a fun four and saw everything and asked all questions. Alessio, the guide was good at answering and stopping if we wanted longer at a spot.... perfect day!!
