Fabulous day spent at Boone Plantation
Heather_E, Apr 2024
Fabulous day spent at Boone. Guides were fantastic and the presentation about the history of the Gullah people was moving. Do not miss this presentation!
Two Things Not to Miss!
Linda_P, Apr 2024
The Avenue of the Oaks and the Gullah presentation were the absolutely best parts of this visit and not to be missed. If you take Uber, however, be aware that we had a hard time getting someone to pick us up late afternoon to take us back to Charleston. We eventually got a ride, though, and with a great driver!
Glimpse back in time
Kimberly_K, Apr 2024
The entire property was beautiful-the trees alone were worth the trip! The thing we found most impactful was the presentation by “Da Geechee Gal” on the Gullah culture. It was both powerful and moving. I wish we had allowed more time here. We never got to the stables or gardens, and had to hurry through just a few of the displays in the original slave quarters.

Everything there is enjoyable to see, plus if you like history this tour is for you. From the tractor ride around the property to the mansion and gardens. Also don’t miss the flower gardens or Horse stables either.
Tour of the South

The grounds/gardens are absolutely beautiful. Loved to read and hear about the history and especially the Gullah way of life. All the tour guides were very educated and insightful stories of the past.
An inclusive plantation experience.
Dexter_B, Apr 2024
We felt the various lectures were very informative. The all inclusive experience helped us understand plantation life, the good and bad.
Great historical stop
Angie_H, Apr 2024
We had a rainy, chilly afternoon to explore the grounds, but even so the house tour, the farm tram tour and self-guided tours were jam-packed with Southern history!
Beautiful Day!
Teena_F, Apr 2024
We loved listening to the Gullah presentation, the gardens and the house. The displays in the Welcome Center were very well done and informative. Enjoyed the tractor wagon ride around the farm.
Not a wheelchair friendly property!
Dennis_B, Apr 2024
My wife is in a wheelchair and the plantation is in no way user friendly. No wooden or concrete paths. Sandy environment. Insufficient Handicap Parking. Great tours and beautiful property.
Great Plantation with lots of activities !
Amelia_C, Apr 2024
The plantation was stunning. So much history and hard work to keep everything so nice. I loved the tram ride and the Gullah presentation was awesome. Gardens were beautiful and the live oaks lining the road were breath taking.
Excellent experience and very user friendly for those with limited mobility.
Michelle_N, Apr 2024
We were traveling with my elderly mom and aunt. They rode their scooters throughout. The guides were fabulous and helped them. They had chairs available so they could sit during the house tour. My aunt and mom had the best time!!
A MUST SEE!!!

Please consider visiting this site. It was beautiful to see and very informative. Don't miss the Gullah experience and the main house tour. The tractor tour was fun as well. It really makes you appreciate it all - from both sides.
Great

Enjoying the sites while being driven around d. Having all the historical sites explained to us. My favorite way to get to know a new place before touring on my own
We enjoyed the house...
Rodney_A, Apr 2024
We enjoyed the house tour, the wagon tour of the plantation and the Gullah history talk. Would’ve liked to be able to take pictures inside the house and also to be able to tour more of it (the kitchen and upstairs were closed off to tourists).
Disappointed With Gullah Presentation
Linda_B, Apr 2024
This was my second visit to the Boone Hall Plantation and I was completely disappointed with the Gullah presentor. She was stoic throughout the presentation and didn’t move from the table. There was NO audience interaction, like the previous presentator in 2019 (my last visit). It was also very brief and not filled with much info abt the Gullah/Geeche culture. I recommend that you replace her before the tourist season.
The beautiful gardens,...
Pam_S, Apr 2024
The beautiful gardens, the strawberry festival, and the tractor ride around the property. A true southern experience!
Dog friendly outing
Jennifer_M, Apr 2024
Beautiful grounds and very educational experience. We we’re able to walk our dog with us as we looked around.
Great Experience . . . Learned A Lot
Diane_K, Apr 2024
The gardens were exceptional. The people working in the gardens were knowledgeable and very friendly. Trees were amazing . . . worth the price of admission to just drive down the avenue.
Girls trip
Barbara_W, Apr 2024
The gardens were beautiful. The tour guides and storytellers were lovely also. We all loved the loggia room.
