Depressed
Lori_F, Mar 2024
The employees were friendly, but I have discovered that I am not a fan of this type of art work. I felt it was very depressing.
Not worth it.

Very limited exhibit. Not worth the cost. Don't waste your money and time. Best to go to the Chicago art institute.
Two thumbs down
Suzy_W, Sep 2023
We were very disappointed. We did not like to have to read an explanation of the artwork to understand it.

Museum easy to go around and easy accessible to exhibits (as opposed to the Chicago Art Institute). The bookstore is very well stocked with books and other items unfortunately there were no prints or posters of the current exhibits.
Terrific experience

Great museum. I was particularly moved by the Public Enemy exhibit. Very thought provoking. The video of the artist speaking about his work really enhanced the whole experience.
Great time out

Didn’t get to see everything but what I did see was interesting. Some of the art was extremely basic but the facility was up to date and some of the art was really cool.
Nice Experience
Lisa_E, Apr 2023
Very nice exhibits. I wish I had known they closed at 5pm (my fault) because we purchased tickets at 4pm and we did not have enough time to fully appreciate everything before the museum closed. Also, wearing my conch pack on my front was not good on my back so don’t take much with you if you go.

Amazing, unique works of art! Spent 90 minutes here. Would definitely recommend. Great restaurants within walking distance and Water Tower mall across the street.

The Nate Cage exhibit was fantastic. I loved the bookstore and the cashier was so friendly and knowledgeable. From the moment we entered the Museum everyone and everything was perfect.

It was interesting, reasonable price the only downside they had a few rooms open they were remodeling so a few of the art rooms were closed
Visiting Chicago
Naomi_K, Sep 2021
We enjoyed the special Comic exhibit. Very good museum store! The 76 year-old man married to Naomi recalled many comics, but your exhibits informed us of a history of comics and talented cartoonists never imagined ! The cultural and anti-racism messages are so important to your visitors…
Fun and Learning
Fay_F, Sep 2021
The Comics Strip exhibit was terrific!!! Loved going back in time and seeing the artistry - ink drawings, the humor etc. I also liked seeing some of today’s talent. On a more delicate note, the restrooms need attention/cleaning/sanitizing more often ugh
Very nice place to visit
Mine_S, Aug 2021
Chicago Comics exhibition was amazing. Paintings of Christina Quarles were also breathtaking. It was really fun to explore art and learn more.
Fun cartoon exhibit
Linda_C, Jul 2021
Fun cartoon exhibit. Most interesting were comics by African-American artists in 60s-80’s. Would have liked more material from 60’s, as well as some comics from the Chicago Sun-Times. The exhibit was focused more on contemporary “underground “ cartoons.
Give your money to the homeless
Tom_S, Jul 2021
Extremely disappointing don’t waste your time. The staff was rude but the customers were even more rude. Your money would be better spent given to the homeless
A MUST SEE
Nikillia_L, May 2021
The museum was wonderful and intriguing. I recommend any one to visit when in Chicago you won’t be disappointed.
Interesting
Kimberly_A, May 2021
The museum was very nice. The artist artwork was very unique and interesting. It taught me a new prospective on art.
Good value
Kathy_D, May 2021
Nice layout and variety of artists. Good value for the price. Some displays were a little edgy for us B
Educational and enriching
yana_v, May 2021
Very well organized, attended is well lit, positioned and composed. For those who appreciate contemporary art, it’s an opportunity to rediscover or discover a few remarkable artists. Unfortunately some of work are heavily politicized, but not all.
