Céline was a wonderful tour guide, very knowledgeable on the things around to do and see, and brought us to lots of delicious food! When we needed a slight change of plans due to some stomach issues, she was fast to accommodate! Would highly recommend.

Mixed Feelings About Copenhagen Food and Drink Tour

My experience on the food and drink tour in Copenhagen was a mixed bag. While our guide was friendly and personable, I left feeling a bit underwhelmed by the lack of focus on the history and culture of Scandinavian cuisine. On the positive side, our guide was incredibly kind and chatty, making us feel welcome throughout the tour. She shared personal anecdotes about her experience moving to Denmark and schooling her kids, which added a nice personal touch to the experience. However, I was disappointed by the limited insight into the rich culinary heritage of the region. I had hoped to learn more about traditional Scandinavian dishes, ingredients, and culinary traditions. Instead, much of the tour was dominated by casual conversation rather than informative commentary about the food and drink we were sampling. Overall, while I enjoyed the tour and appreciated our guide's warmth and hospitality, I left feeling like I had missed out on a deeper understanding of Scandinavian cuisine. If you're looking for a more educational experience, this might not be the best choice. However, if you're simply seeking a relaxed and enjoyable outing with good company, this tour could still be worth considering.

Dear customer, we are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. The guides always give information on the culinary information of the region and of course on the culture and history of the region. In this case the guide may have felt that the talk was entertaining, with the information she was giving but did not realise that you may have needed more information about the gastronomy. If you had asked her to go deeper into the information she would have been happy to do so as she has the knowledge to give an excellent tour, as you can see from the reviews of this tour, thank you anyway.

My friend and I really enjoyed this tour. We had a private guide Magda who was fantastic! We were able to go our own pace and ask so many questions about danish life and culture not just food. We got a variety of danish style foods that gave us a good idea of the typical food of the locals. We learned alot about danish culture and food and got to see some other areas of the city that we hadn't been to. We would recommend this tour to anyone looking to learn more about danish cuisine and culture in a small private group setting.

Nice guide, really bad tour

Our guide was darling, but it was a very disappointing food tour. We walked around all the touristy spots and just chatted about the local schools and our guide’s experiences moving to a new country. Two of the food spots we were supposed to visit were closed or out of the food she wanted to give us. We ended up with a hotdog from a food truck, a slice of pork, and a danish from a large-scale bakery. We cut the food tour short after two hours because we were hungry and disappointed. As I mentioned, we really liked our guide, she was very nice, but it didn’t compare to any food tour we’ve ever done before. I wouldn’t recommend.

Dear customer, we are sorry to hear that your dining experience was not to your liking, but we would like to clarify a few points. Of course we spoke with the experienced guide to see what happened, as we found this review strange, given the excellent comments we have from all guests. The guide told us that you did not like the food, that you even threw away some of the tastings. You did not want to eat the Smorrebrod (the star dish of the tour) because you had tried it before. You wanted to cut the tour short because you had a dinner at a Michelin star restaurant, so you wanted to have room in your stomach. Surprisingly one of the stops was closed, without prior notice, but the guide as always managed to find an alternative with the same tasting. She mentioned that you were always in a hurry, and that you changed your mood because you didn't like the food. Many interesting topics were discussed during the tour. We appreciate your comments as well.

Don’t Waste Your Money or Time!

Don’t waste your money on this one! The tour guide was not local and had little or no knowledge of Copenhagen or the food on offer. All four tastings were in the first 75 mins and no beer, schnapps or danish pastry and coffee was offered. The guide even said it never lasts 3 hours. It finished in less than 90 mins and he said he was returning us to the start point. When we requested a refund we were told the guide told them we requested an early finish! Total lies. Such a shame as we have done a few tours with Viator in Stockholm. Phuket and New Orleans and they were brilliant. Feeling very let down on this as it wasn’t cheap!

First of all, the fact that the guide is not Danish does not put in doubt his enormous capacity and knowledge about Copenaheghen and everything about the city. The guide told us that you were very disrespectful during the tour, and that you did things like throwing food at the pigeons. You asked not to go to the last stop (the coffee and pastry stop) which clearly made the tour shorter. So you are not telling the truth. Our guides are of high quality, as the reviews indicate. We consider this review totally unfair because it is not true. Thanks anyway.

Our food guide Celine was excellent! You could tell she took time to choose every location for our tasting. My group had people who couldn't walk for Kong periods of time and Celine made sure we had rest stops and knew where every bathroom was. The food we tried tasted delicious and I'm so thankful for Celine as our guide. It was a wonderful experience.

Paula was a wonderful guide for our Copenhagen food tour. She was very friendly, personable, knowledgeable and good company. This was our first visit to Copenhagen and we learnt a lot from Paula about the history of the city. This is not just a food tour although the food was delicious and there was plenty to eat. I was just expecting a straight forward food tour but our tour guide Magda made it so much more. We explored a lot of the city while learning its culture, history, and how people live their lives day to day in the city. Magda also gave us numerous restaurant and activity recommendations while making sure to ensure that we ended the tour stuffed and satisfied (we had to take our Smørrebrød's to go due to being full).

Pricey and shorted

I would have enjoyed it more if our guide would have just got us the food advertised rather than trying to get us to skip it or share items. I understand he was just trying to make extra money by saving, but that put pressure on us. The tour was supposed to be 3 hours and was cut down to two hours. I felt it was a bit pricey for was we got.

Dear customer, we are sorry that the tour was not to your complete satisfaction, but we would like to clear up some misunderstandings. Our guides are very professional and will never pull out stops to try to make some money, it is ridiculous considering that it is not much money and they would put their reputation and that of the company at stake. As you will see from the reviews, this tour is very successful and the guides follow the tour perfectly. For organisational reasons there are some tastings, which due to their size must be shared, this is perfectly explained in the description. The guide explained to us that at your request you wanted to return to the Round Tower, and he understood that you did not want to taste the last tasting (the smorrebrod) as you said that you were full, and wanted to go to the viewpoint of the tower. He would never skip this stop, he simply misunderstood what you meant. We will also advise all guides to follow the itinerary perfectly so that there is no confusion or misunderstanding. Thank you.
