The booking process was smooth and convenient. I was able to easily reserve my spot online, and the staff was quick to respond to any inquiries I had. They provided all the necessary information, making the process hassle-free. Our driver / host picked us up outside our hotel in perfect time. From start to finish, the adventure was filled with safety, excitement and unforgettable moments. The ride and pickup was nice. Once we got there, the tour operator tells us that we can't use the ATVs to actually go into the Dunes, and if we want to, we either need to upgrade to the larger ATVs or upgrade to the buggy for another $200USD. The track is a single flat loop that won't be fun to ride at all.
None of the pictures on viator show the track, and there's a single sentence in the description of this tour that says you can only operate the ATVs on the track which is extremely easy to miss or misinterpret. I thought the track was some boundaries within the Dunes when I first read this.
We decide to upgrade to the buggy, as we paid for 4 people, the Viator site at the time of booking showed the same price for 4x ATVs as it did for 1x buggy. But the tour operators pricing was different when we arrived, as they requested an upcharge of $200USD. They said they couldn't update the Viator website with the new pricing, which felt a bit fishy. We negotiated the upcharge and just went with it since we wanted to enjoy the next hour.
The don't let you drift or slide on the ATVs or buggy's in the Dunes, supposedly because the police doesn't like that. There's no police around, and I don't know what the point of going to the Dunes is if you can't drift and slide around in your car, they just expect you to go straight and follow the guide in front of you. This is also something they only mentioned after I upgraded to the buggy.
Afterwards they'll pressure you to put a 5 star review which I didn't like, which is probably why this tour is so highly rated compared to the rest. Don't get pressured and just leave a genuine review after the fact.
Along the strip where we were there were at least a dozen other ATV tour operators all with empty ATVs, so there's a lot of competition. I would try to find another tour company doing this with more transparent business practices. The buggy experience we ended up doing itself was fun, but I'd do it with someone else if I were to do it again.

I bought this tour as it was advertised to go into the desert on 4 wheel drive vehicles. When I arrived they said that the ones I booked were boring and given their horsepower, the law was we had to stay on a track and would be bored after five minutes. If we wanted to go into the desert, we would need to upgrade to a higher horsepower buggy for an additional cost of around $200. Since we were there, we had little choice but to do. They wanted cash which I didn’t have. They miraculously found a credit card machine. Once, out in the dunes, it was a great experience for the kids. But Viator, should be clear what this is and that if you want to have any experience you need to pay almost double the amount.
