What To Expect

Your Grand Canyon tour begins with morning pickup from your Flagstaff hotel in a climate-controlled vehicle, and a scenic drive to the Grand Canyon.

Head out of Flagstaff and pass through Oak Creek Canyon and on to the Colorado Plateau. Look for the San Francisco Peaks, a volcanic mountain range with Arizona´s highest mountain, and the historic town of Williams on Route 66.

Upon arrival at Grand Canyon National Park, stop at the overlook at Grand Canyon Village to soak in the views across the majestic canyon. Keep an eye out for condors – the world´s largest bird.

After lunch at Maswik Café, your guide takes you to the top viewpoints along the South Rim, Visit Yavapai Point, which also has a geology museum; Lipan Point, where you can look down into the canyon; and Desert View, which has a historic watchtower and Hopi art.

Later, drive along the Little Colorado Rover and stop at the historic Cameron Trading Post. The trading post opened in the early 1900s on the Navajo reservation and carries fine handicrafts and art from Hopi, Zuni and Navajo artists.

As you drive back to Flagstaff, watch the sunset light up the sky over the high desert. Your tour ends with hotel drop-off.

We enjoyed seeing the lava flow from Sunset Crater. The Grand Canyon sites that our guide, Steve, chose were beautiful . He was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained with Arizona trivia!

Guide was great! Really informative and took time to talk to kids about their questions. Van was too small and crowded.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
We do conduct our tours in a fourteen-passenger touring van, but we do not fill with fourteen passengers. Your tour only had eight adults and two children total in the van and that was during the busy Holiday week. We reupholster our van seats with additional padding and they are cleaned in and out daily. Thank you for your Guide review and we are very happy your kids enjoyed the tour!
Easy, relaxing way to see the Grand Canyon!

Seeing the Grand Canyon for the very first time! Cat - out wonderful guide - gave us lots of interesting facts about the history and geology of the Grand Canyon. It’s so nice to have someone else do the driving too. I liked Cat’s choices of music. And her train whistle!
Andrea is the BEST!
Bianca_M, Jul 2023
This trip was amazing! Andrea made this trip easy! She was very knowledgeable and personable. She took us to the best spots and was so chill and easygoing. She knew a lot about everything. We got to see the Grand Canyon from a lot of different angles. Even got to hike up a little trail named the Bright Angel Trail. Would definitely recommend this trip but definitely with her!

Our tour guide Jeff was amazing. He was knowledgeable, patient, and considerate. We really enjoyed the Hopi ruins. The canyon was awe-inspiring and beautiful.

Margaret_B, Mar 2022
The trip is pretty short (especially leaving from Flagstaff) and a bit too commercial for my taste. We stopped for a long time at a US private-owned (NOT EVEN native American-owned) shopping area. We stopped at 3-4 viewpoints at the Grand Canyon and that was it ... The guide was extremely nice and pleasant though.

Steve was a wonderful tour guide! He showed us parts of the park (and off park) we never would have gone to on our own. He had knowledge of literally everything and gladly shared it. The views were unreal, a wonderful day. The only part we didn't necessarily enjoy was the fact that we were the only ones wearing masks in a van. Masks were optional inside the van during a pandemic? I'm a nurse, so I don't think that makes a ton of sense. People were coughing in the van all day. Otherwise, a great tour.
Wonderful

The history and the views

Matt was very educated and funny. Great trip would recommend. He stopped at his favorites that he thought were best and I completely agree.
Amazing day!
Michael_H, Jan 2020
Matt was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. The Grand Canyon was amazing. We could have driven the same route in our car, but not had nearly the wonderful and rich experience as we had with our group. My teen daughter and I came away with a deeper understanding of the canyon and the history of the native and nonnative Americans. Great day and amazing pictures to our day.
South Rim over pass
TAYLORBR549, Jul 2019
Rick the pilot was great! We enjoyed every minute of the flight over the South Rim of the canyon. The helicopter was in great shape and the flight was very comfortable. Wish we could have flown down to the canyon floor next to the Colorado River.
Grand Canyon Van Tour
Wanda M, Oct 2018
Tour guide, Catherine, was wonderful. The day was foggy and a lot of snow and no visability. Never saw any views of the canyon. Weather was to clear up by noon, but kept getting worse. No one can do anything about weather, so I will be back. The excellent rating is for Catherine. Weather gets a 0. We also had an excellent lunch at Maswik Lodge.

We pre-booked this tour via Viator before we left home. This was our first trip in Grand Canyon. The trip was fantastic from beginning to end. We were collected from our hotel in Flagstaff in a minibus on time. Our tour guide J.R. was friendly and knowledgable. We really enjoyed our adventure and would love to do it again.
