This is a perfect pick for foodies visiting Ghent. We will meet at the Jacob Van Artevelde statue. It is the big statue in the middle of the square. You can get there by taking tram nr. 1 and either get off at "Korenmarkt" or "Gravensteen". Ask for shopping street "Lange Munt". At the end of this street turn right and you will see the square.

Please note that the end point is different than the starting point. We will finish our tour at the last taster place. This will be walking distance from the old town or a short tram or bus ride.

We walk 2 to 5 km at a very gentle and relaxed pace and with several taster stops. You need to be able to walk this distance. You also need to be comfortable with standing/walking whilst having your taster.
Please inform us about any dietary needs / intolerances and allergies.

Be prepared for any weather condition (waterproof clothes are recommended).
If a tours needs to be canceled by us, we will offer an alternative date or give you a full refund.
You need to be comfortable with standing/walking whilst having your taster.

Eating your way through Ghent

A very enjoyable way to spend an afternoon in Ghent. Learning about the city and its history while enjoying various food samples. The food samples in total easily made a meal, so come hungry. Sophie was a wonderful knowledgeable engaged guide who also gave me some tips on what not to miss on my up coming excursion to Antwerp.

Lovely tour

This was a great tour! The group was small (4 people) and everyone was very friendly. Our guide was charming and very knowledgeable. The food was delicious, and plenty for lunch or dinner.

Sophie was a delightful guide and knowledgeable of the city’s history. The food choices were great. My suggestion would be to perhaps charge a bit more to be able to include more Belgian beer, especially would have paired well with the fries and beef stew!!

This is an absolutely fantastic tour! You have about 4-5 stops around the city with bits of historical knowledge sprinkled throughout! Our tour guide Sophie was very knowledgeable and did everything to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Great history and amazing local foods. I would highly recommend!

Enjoyed the easygoing pace with the eye of a local on the sights of old Ghent. Great sampling of different foods that gave us tasty dinner ideas before heading home. Sophie was a wonderful and very considerate guide. She was very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. The route covered many of the major sites as well as great food options. All the food was good from croquettes, ham and cheese, chocolates, meat balls and waffles. Sophie made sure that everyone's individual tastes were catered for. It was an easy and pleasant tour. The other people in the small group were lovely.

We had a wonderful Tour with Sophie! We had already seen many of the normal areas she covers so she totally customized our Tour to show us tons of new sights…I had requested to see as much street art/murals as possible and we found some gorgeous examples. All food stops were delicious - we loved the first stop the most with the local meats, cheeses and beer - great kick off to our day! We learned so much about Ghent and felt we truly had a unique experience with Sophie as our Guide. Highly recommend this Tour!

Great Tour and Lots of Food!

Highly recommend this tour! It was a great way to see Ghent, learn about the city, and enjoy some great food. Our tour guide was very personable and gave us some great tips about what to do in Ghent as well as other areas in Belgium. Then there was the food! Definitely do not eat before the tour as you will get so much food throughout the tour. We had 6 stops throughout the tour with food and definitely did not leave hungry.

Sophie is the best! She prepared a Customized Nice route and hotspots by taking our allergies in account. She had interesting stories about the restaurants and historic buildings. We really enjoyed the foodtour and recommend everybody to try. Next trip is to Mechelen 😊
