The guide, 'Charlie' was a gracious, Knowledgeable, and deeply empathetic tour guide who was simply superb. His manner, deep knowledge and sense of occasion, plus a welcome dash of humor, made the experience so much better. We came away with a far greater understanding and respect for all the people involved in the conflict. A very humbling experience. Truly memorable.

Wonderful staff, small group size was fantastic. We could get into the smaller areas with the mini van. No time wasting waiting for people to get on/ off big bus. Guide very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. Highly recommend this trip.
Excellent value

Seeing my great uncle’s memorial at Chunuk Bair. Fabulous informative and knowledgeable tour. Good drivers and excellent guide, top marks to the guide.
Overall great day

Really enjoyed our day. Traveled from Istanbul. Had a stop for breakfast and toilet around 930, then onto lunch. After lunch we met up with our tour guide Hasan who was brilliant. A very emotional day. We spent about 4 hours seeing the sights. Then headed back to Istanbul with a stop for dinner and toilet part way home. I would recommend slightly shorter breaks, including lunch to get to Gallipoli earlier and maybe have a little more time there. Overall would definitely recommend.
Highly recommend. Thanks Crowded House

This is a well organized tour, from start to finish. Our guide was passionate and knowledgeable. Enjoyed being with a small group and english speaking guide.

I enjoyed the day, and had always wanted to visit Gallipoli. The tour was nice, good information and a good guide. The only negatives were the included lunch was poor, and there was no museum.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Hi There Thank you for your kind review. We don’t know what you mean by poor lunch but We have 3 oourse set menu. They serve the soup of the day first and for the main course they have grilled meatballs ( beef ), chicken shish served with rice , chips and salad. And they have fruit of the season for the last part. As all can see in the tour itinerary we don’t have any museum included in this package. We have the museum only in the 2 Days 1 Night Gallipoli Troy Tour tour from Istanbul ( New Museum of Troy included ) We wish you checked the itinerary well at the booking period. Safe Travels

Fantastic tour. Guide Hasan was super knowledgeable and very informative. It was a long day from Istanbul but very enjoyable and bus was comfy. Very well organised tour. Highly recommended.
Interesting stories!
Andrei_S, Mar 2024
You'll learn A LOT of interesting historical facts and insane stories. Impressive! Burak, our guide, who born and raised in the area, done a wonderful job! Really appreciate the quality of the tour! One more thing to improve the experience. The time to walk around each of the stop was like 3-10 minutes, it is VERY rush, as there are a lot of stuff to read and wander around, plus taking photos. I would remove a 40-50-min breakfast stop on the way to Gallipoli and invest this time into each of the stop along graves/landmarks/beaches.
ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE
Fred_L, Mar 2024
I had read five books on the Gallipoli campaign prior to the battlefield tour and I am a retired soldier of 36 years. I was not expecting much from our tour guide. I was more than pleasantly surprised! Hassan, our tour guide, had a PhD level knowledge of the battlefield and the way he presented it was superb. It is certainly a long day but a once in a lifetime experience. Bring your sun hat and maybe even some toilet paper lol!

Lest We Forget

Deeply emotional experience. Gallipoli has huge significance for Australians. I wanted to see the place where so many ANZAC's gave their lives to fight in a far away place. Very sad to see so many names listed on memorial walls and no graves as these soldiers' bodies have not been found. Also a new found feeling of respect and friendship towards just as many Turkish soldiers who also gave their lives. If I did not live so far away, I would come back and do a 3 day Gallipoli tour as the 1-day tour just cannot do justice to the history of this battle. Huge raps for our guide "Charlie". Was very informative and told us about the impact for both sides of the conflict and how this formed the history of modern Turkey. Tiny comment - the lunch provided was the worst of the 5 day tours we did in Turkey.
Wonderful

Incredible experience with a truly wonderful guide. This is a must do, the tour is very informative and awakening, understanding that what we learn of the war from our countries is often different than the truth of battle. Very grateful for this experience
Great day

Hasan was a superb tour guide. His knowledge of Gallipoli made the tour the highlight of our visit. We learned so much from him. It is well worth the time commitment as it is a long drive to the peninsula.
Exceptional

Gallipoli
Josephine_H, Feb 2024
The minibus collected me from my accommodation well within the timescale. All drivers were safe, friendly and polite. For the tour of Gallipoli I was the only Brit among several lovely Australians. And female on a battlefield tour at that! I went, while staying in Istanbul, because my grandfather landed at Suvla Bay with the British Army in October 1915, so to learn more about the campaign, and the likely experience of my grandfather who died 30 years before I was born, was amazing. Our tour guide was fantastic on such a beautiful, peaceful and emotional afternoon. You brought a few words in WW1 diary to life: “I arrived under heavy bombardment to Suvla Bay…” Yes, there is a lot to fit in but it fitted the bill for me perfectly. I only drop a star for the food. The breakfast and dinner stop were the same. The staff were lovely, but the venue is a bland roadside self-service cafe with a 15-30 minute stop. The lunch stop at Eceabat was similar with lovely staff, who I suspect have been low paid to provide the cheapest of lunch.
A must do for every Australian

Viator are the agent, Crowded House Tours in Eceabat are the crew that deliver the experience. They are a top notch crew, friendly, helpful and with deep extensive knowledge of the Gallipoli campaign of WW1. A deeply moving experience
Well worth doing

If you are an Australian or a Kiwi in Istanbul for more than a day or two, you are doing yourself a disservice if you fail to take one of these Gallipoli tours. Sure, it is a long day and quite a tiring exercise, but the rewards are immeasurable. It is fascinating and moving to traverse the important Gallipoli sites and see this huge part of our history gain another dimension. Our guide, Charlie, provided a sensitive and warm narration of the enormous contribution made by both sides in this devestating conflict. And not without a dry, fitting touch of humour here and there as well. In short: highly recommended.
Anzac Cove / Gallipoli day bus tour
Deb_S, Jan 2024
The whole day was fabulous. The best of the tours we’ve had in Istanbul. The bus ride was comfortable, the food stops fabulous and the guides clear and experienced. The national park is lovely and both the Australian and Turkish monuments/memorials a fitting tribute to the poor soldiers who perished during WWI. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and humerous with his Australian references. A very humbling experience for us. Thank you. Lest we forget.
