What To Expect

This full-day tour begins with a Jerusalem hotel pickup in an air-conditioned coach.

Begin at the Mount Scopus for a scenic overview of the entire city of Jerusalem. This mountain ridge is east of the Old City and named for the olive groves that once covered its slopes. According to the gospels, a number of important events in the life of Jesus took place here, including where he ascended into heaven. The Mount has been a site of Christian worship since ancient times and continues to be a place of pilgrimage for Eastern Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant believers. From here, see the Dome of the Rock at the Temple Mount Esplanade. It has been said that this is where heaven meets earth.

Continue past the Garden of Gethsemane, where it is believed that Jesus prayed on the night he was arrested by Roman soldiers. Continue to the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem and see the famous Western Wall, or Wailing Wall, one of the holiest of Jewish sites. Then in the Christian Quarter, walk along the Via Dolorosa, the street that Jesus traveled on the way to his crucifixion. Here, look for the 14 stations of the cross while retracing Jesus’ steps to the Hill of Calvary, now the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

Continue onto Cardo, the main thoroughfare of Byzantine Jerusalem where the coach will provide transportation for the short trip to Bethlehem.

Explore the Church of the Nativity, where the birth of Jesus of Nazareth is said to have occurred. Manger Square is where the majority of religious activity in Bethlehem takes place, with the Church of the Nativity and the Mosque of Omar, the oldest and only mosque in the old city of Bethlehem. See where Jesus was placed in a manger after his birth.

Stop by the Greek and Catholic churches here, then board the coach for a return trip to the Jerusalem hotels.

Why an average review? The guide was friendly and personable. He needed to focus more on the tour. Rather, we spent too much time in shops. The church of the Holy Scepleture was breeze, no time to see anything. It is hot in August so touring is tough on foot. focus more on the tour

Thank you for sharing your review. We appreciate your positive comments about the guide's personality. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the tour's focus and the time spent.
Great tour to get to know Jerusalem and Bethlehem
Edidem_B, May 2023
Really good tour to get to know about Jerusalem and Bethlehem from a Christian perspective. Very knowledgeable guide (Abishai) - he explains the significance of each landmark with humour. There is WiFi on the bus so you can stay connected while driving and the driver (Isaac) was very nice and polite.
Response from Host, May 2023
Thanks for sharing that you had a great informative and memorable tour experience with Avishy. And thanks for the warm words about Isaac your driver. Always good to receive such feedback.

The most memorable part was walking down the road Jesus walked and learning about the stations of the cross. And being amazed how beautiful the church was that was built over the cave where Jesus was born.

Great to know you came away with a memorable tour experience to cherish always.
Always LATE!
Arnold_m, Mar 2023
If you can find a different tour operator, besides from BEIN HARIM, pls avoid them. They are always late for pick up. They always let u come on time and late 30-40 mins. Waiting in the pick up area. Unfortunately, when i booked 3 of my tours in Jerusalem, they are the tour operator, and they sucks. All 3 days the pick is late. Plus the tour itself is always in a rush. They also mixed the english and spanish client. Which takes alot of time having 2 language when explaining. Thry dont give yiu time to explore places. If ever they only give you 15 mins with major tourist spot. And its not enough. Everything is just not worth it. They really dont care about the client, since we are tourist and possibly not coming back, we have no choice.
Response from Host, Mar 2023
We sincerely apologize for the negative experience you had with our tour services. We are disappointed to hear that we fell short of the high standards we set for ourselves and caused you inconvenience. We understand that being late for pick-up and rushing through tours can be frustrating, and we take full responsibility for any inconvenience caused. Our commitment is to provide the best possible experience for our guests, and we regret that we failed to meet your expectations on this occasion. We appreciate your feedback on the mixed languages and limited time for exploring major tourist spots. We would like to clarify that while we do offer bilingual tours, we ensure that this information is clearly communicated to our guests in advance.
Great tour!

Great tour! A lot of walking but they show you everything you need to know and see in Jerusalem and Bethlehem!

Don't waste your money doing this tour, especially on a sunday!
Fab_P, Nov 2022
We were really dissapointed with this tour. Had a free day to explore and missed seeing important sites because the tour group was not well organised. We were picked up at 8.10 and taken to a cafe with a view of the city and waited there for 60-90 minutes to be collected. We then headed to the church of the good Sheppard and then taken to a souvenir shop and told the church would not be available til 12.30, so we spent over an hour at the souvenir shop waiting to go see the church where Jesus was born. We did this then were taken to a nearby place for over an hour for all you can eat lunch for 70 Israeli Sheckel. The guides were eating their lunch before anybody else got theirs. Glad we chose not to eat there and grabbed a delicious falafel at a nearby shop in manager square which took us about 15 minutes to purchase and eat. This would have been a better option to allow us more time to view the sites. We then headed to the western wall where we had 15 minutes there before walking to via dolorosa and the church of the holy sepulchre. We were told we were running out of time and would only be able to see 2-3 stations of the cross on the way to the church. We got to the church and told we only had 15 or so minutes there before we had to leave because the bus was collecting us at 4.15. There were line ups to see where Jesus was crucified and his burial area so there was no time to see these..absolutely dissapointing. And the tour guide was difficult to understand. Honestly, you are better off doing this by yourself. It's also best you do not book on a Sunday as there are church services on that cause delays. We went back ourselves later and did all 14 stations of the cross within half hour. This tour should have started with the wall and the via dolorosa and not taken us to the 'tourist trap' shops and eateries where 3 hours were wasted !

Dear Fab_P, thank you for your feedback. We would like to apologize that was the nature of your experience. Group tours logistics and schedule are very complex and the customer doesn't always understands all the choices that are being made. Shops and restaurants are chosen for many reasons (warranty, catering for groups, bathroom, AC and more). We suggest booking a private tour, where you can decide on all the details.

Bad experiance on one of life time trip
andynlinda2, Jul 2019
This tour was one of the worst experience we have had. The tour started on the wrong food. We would be pick up from our hotel at 7:30 AM. We made the effort to be up and ready at the from of the hotel on time. The tour company did not show up until shortly after 9:30 AM. This delay led the tour guide to rush through everything we were taking to, including Jesus's grave. There was a line where everyone had to stand, and our tour guide stated that she does not have the time to wait in line and we had to skip that part of the tour. Then she spent most of the time talking about Israeli's history, and a very short time about Christianity. The one statement she made during her coverage about Christianity that was extremely offensive and insulting to our faith was while explaining the history about Jesus Crist she simply concluded with " Basically Jesus was a trouble maker". This woman was an insulting EVIL that don't belong of being a tour guide. Stay away from this tour company and safe your money. You can take the tour your self, everything is available to you without having to spend your money only to have to faith insulted.

If you are looking to book a tour of Jerusalem and Bethlehem I recommend that you request Yuval Bigio as your tour guide. He is multilingual and very knowledgeable about the sites that we toured and has a very good sense of humor.

Arlene S, May 2018
This was supposed to be an English speaking tour but was actually a combination English and Spanish tour which made every explanation take longer. Our guide in Jerusalem was knowledgeable but not sympatico. Nevertheless, we saw all the Jerusalem sites in a very large group of more than 40. The Bethlehem part was very disappointing since it was Sunday and the church was busy so that we could not go into the caverns below. I do not think this tour should be scheduled on Sunday. The problems were that the tour group was too large and that the scheduling on Sunday was poor for the Bethlehem part.

Our tour guide was horrible. she was scattered and rushed us through everything. One of the people in the group had been to Israel before and he was extremely unhappy with the information she gave us. there were about twelve people on the tour altogether and no happy faces. do not recommend.

Jena R, Nov 2017
I wouldn't wish this trip on my worst enemy. From the beginning, I knew it wasn't going to be great. We got picked up promptly at 8:30am, as promised. However, it took AN HOUR to get everyone in the correct vans and the tour to start. From there it felt very rushed. The guide was giving us information about things very obvious to anybody who knew anything religious I grew up going to church every week but would not say I know much about the bible. However, I pretty much knew most of what she went into detail about - and the things she did not explain when asked about I know the story, but we don't have time. We also back tracked a lot which she explained was for good reason but to me it was more of an annoyance. Lunch was not explained well so us when we got there and were rushed around trying to eat quickly to go. Our guide explained the entire menu to us - but the workers told us we had only 3 options to choose from. We went to 2 different gift shops and many of the people on the tour thought we HAD to purchase something from these stores. Not many people actually wanted to buy anything and I am very upset we spent about 30-45 minutes in the 2 gift shops but only had 15 minutes to tour a church. We also lost 3 of the people from our tour so that look a lot of time to find them. And then it was never explained well but 4 people in the tour just left after lunch and didn't go to Bethlehem with us. Not sure why?? THEN, as if it could get any better, we went to Bethlehem. When we arrived, we were told we were going in different vans than the one we had used all day? Our tour guide didn't go with us - but we got a new tour guide? We also all couldn't fit in one van so we went in two? With two new drivers? None of this was explained why. We went to the oldest church in the world but again - rushed through. He said he wanted to show us other things but it was closed so no. And we didn't even get to see where Jesus was born because it would take to long. By the end of the tour most all seemed annoyed. I am very confused about it still. It was not organized at all and a waste of my day. And money. DO NOT TAKE THIS TOUR.

Barbara W, Nov 2017
Jerusalem tour difficult due to crowd sizes. No headsets, guide hard to hear. Bethlehem bad because we were held at a gift shop for at least 30 min. Finally went to manger site, had to look at it through a pinhole because it was too busy, we were rushed through that. Awkward situation. Guide there very difficult to hear. Had a good time just walking around on our own today, saw lots more on our own.

Daniel D, Mar 2017
Guide was bored, jaded and in a rush spent more time talking about himself and anecdotes than guiding us on the tour thru the sites. He even didn't want to remain and do the full tour of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, for a Christian woman on the group who came from halfway around the world for a once in a life time trip!
