Varied trip within tight time schedule

The hot springs were amazing although we took it slowly as they were very hot. The boat trip for the fireflies was unexpected and great fun. Si ba was our guide and brought it all to life. He was excellent and had real enthusiasm.
Fantastic experience

Everything was awesome .. fabulous driver and very knowledgeable 🙏 I would highly recommend this trip to anyone seeking the flavour of a new country
Great guide, but private tour

The guide was really good, but I think the price was really expensive, especially because some places are free to see or low priced. I understand that transport and the guide need to be paid but it's a lot of money. It also wasn't completely clear that you would be alone on the trip, which was to bad because when you are travelling alone, you would like to meet new people.
Full day and evening of true Malaysian wonders.

Wonderful trip beginning in the afternoon at the amazing Batu cave with a giant Hindu statue, 272 easy steps up to the cave and lots of monkeys. We stopped at a local healing hot springs where people bathed, a monkey park where we fed them. Next an interesting riverside seafood restaurant and finally a boat ride up the river to see thousands of firefly. Our guide was terrific. A great day. I’m
Amazing Tour!

Great experience with many sites to see

We loved the monkey experience the best. My husband was mauled by them but he loved it. They are not shy about jumping on you to get the food. We are seniors but were able to do the temple steps to the cave quite easily. My husband appreciated soaking his feet in the sulphur pools. The dinner by the river was a lot of food but the trip on the boat to the fireflies was a bit too fast with the boats racing each other.
A Must If you have little time in KL

A MUST!!! We had Uncle Sam pick us up right on time, very knowledgeable and patient with us. It rained on and off the whole day but didn’t affect our experience. Batu Caves, Temple, Monkeys and Firefly was all spectacular! Hot Spring could of skip but we did dip our feet in there but not for long… water didn’t look too clean and there were more men than woman using these hot spring tubs! Our guide Sam was so nice and friendly too!
A good way of seeing (self-guided) a lot in a half day

First of all the really good stuff. The actual sights are super and my driver was friendly and made sure I was looked after. Batu caves are beautiful and it is a must do. The main temple (at the foot of the hill) was closed but the rest of the complex was open. The views from the top of the stairs are amazing. The monkeys are pretty cheeky - keep an eye on your stuff. The hot springs are nothing to look at but very pleasant to sit with your feet in the foot massage bath! I felt very relaxed (although hot!) after resting there for a while. I am not sure I would take a dip in the main pool …there were lots of men there and very few women. The couple who were there were very conservatively dressed. They weren’t in the pool either but dowsing themselves with water. So I am not sure of the cultural implications of actually going in. It’s not particularly clean in any case…..There isn’t a huge amount of time spent there anyway. I would just take a pair of flip flops and enjoy the foot spa! Then onto a more modern Hindu temple which is quite beautiful. No photos allowed inside so make sure you take the time to admire the carvings. Then onto monkey hill, which is the site of an old fort. If you go in the week, cars are often allowed to drive up. At the weekends, there is a little road train. When we got there, the road train had stopped much earlier than expected and this seemed to cause a lot of consternation. I decided to walk up which was met with some incredulity. I wondered what I had embarked on. But it was literally 10 mins up a moderate incline. Honestly if you can walk for 10 - 15 mins uphill without collapsing, this is really no sweat. At the top there are amazing views over the Malacca Straits, a lighthouse, a museum about the fort and a lot of monkeys. It transpired the little train had stopped early because of Ramadan and all of the buildings were closed too. This is a really shame. Personally the really interesting thing (for me) about this site were the various ruins of the fort and it’s history. I think you can even go inside the lighthouse when it is open. I think the monkeys are a dull distraction from what must have been a fascinating historical site. There are still the remains of a “poison well”, a place where the Sultan allegedly beheaded people, a couple of graveyards including a royal one etc. Again these were all closed. I really would have preferred to look at this than a load of monkeys. Also I think a lot of the “attraction” of the place is to feed the monkeys which I know is wrong as they are wild animals. Then onto the dinner and the firefly tour. My driver came into his own at the dinner as I have an allergy and he liaised with the restaurant to make sure they took it into account. I am glad he did this as i am not entirely sure that I would have been able to communicate it with them. The food was fine. I mean you’re not going to have a gourmet meal at a tourist trap. The restaurant could have done with being a bit cleaner but that’s one of those things. Then onto the firefly trip. Again my driver came into his own as he made sure I was on the best boat and gave me the nod as to where best to sit. ( he was 100% right). If you haven’t seen fireflies before it is magical. It really is a case of them being “nature’s Christmas tree”. It was a real highlight of a very enjoyable day. Top tip. When you’re first onboard the boat a lady will come found with a basket of things in little sachets. I didn’t know what it was and so didn’t take one (lots of people didn’t) only to discover they will little mosquito repellent wipes. If you value your skin take one! Or at least put your own repellant on. It’s nightfall and you’re on water …….. So a great day and the number one thing is that there is NO WAY I could have fitted all of that stuff into a half a day on my own and the distances are too great for you to do it without a car. Now for the one reason why I marked it down. My driver was a nice guy but not a guide. I was expected to self guide around everything (Ie just dropped off at each place and picked up when I finished) and for £138 I expected more than that. The tour description really needs to be clearer and I don’t want others to make the same error (which I suspect is deliberate).
Don’t miss this tour

Fantastic day.. don’t miss this tour. driver Steve was very knowledgeable and went over and above to ensure we saw all the sites and had a great day. Beautiful dinner on the river, fun with the monkeys, in awe of the fireflies and the Batu caves and the hot springs were a good experience. Travelling with early teens and a good day had by all of us.
Highlights around KL and beyond.

Driver arrived perfectly on time. Batu Caves needs less than 30 mins not an hour that was given, I wouldn't get in the Hot Springs personally no matter how much sulphur is in there so you can leave your swimming gear at the hotel. They added another Hindu temple which was pretty but only a few years old so not quite the cultural highlight it appears. The monkeys at the top of the hill was amazing but there is a small part of me that knows you shouldn't feed wild monkeys, even if everyone has been doing it for fifty years! The driver provided bananas, nuts and leaves to feed the friendly and enthusiastic monkeys. The dinner was fine if not inspiring (I miss Panda Express). The boat trip at the end, which was what I was there for, was magical. Seeing the blinking glow of the fireflies in almost pitch black (apart from the other tourist taking photographs with their flash on: what did they think they would see?) was worth the whole trip despite it lasting around 45 mins but you didn't need any longer. Stephen, the tour kind, was patient and efficient and got a deserved tip for the 7 hours he alternated between driving around and waiting for us. I would recommend it, and am glad I did it, but I wouldn't do it again.
Excellent Tour

Our Tour Guide was great! He was really knowledgable on all the places visiting as well as the general culture of Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur! It was long but worthwhile day visiting the Batu Caves and Fireflies Etc. Definitely do it, if you want to experience more of Malaysia than just Kuala Lumpur itself :) 5*****

My favorite part was visiting the Batu caves. The driver was friendly, informative, and helpful. It was nice to have the free time to climb to the cave. The monkeys are something else, be careful, you can see some funny and wild things on your way up! lol Dinner was great!

Ravi is wonderful! He is very knowledgeable and flexible! The monkey part was definitely the highlight of the trip for me. Although, the Batu cave and the other temple are also very impressive! Overall it was a great experience. Thank you, Ravi!
