We took a day trip from Kuala Lumpur to Taman Negara and Batu Caves and I can only recommend it! Our driver and organiser Gladwin picked us up at our hotel punctual at 6:00am as agreed. Along the way to Taman Negara he provided us interesting information about the tour itself, but also about many cultural aspects in Malaysia. Thanks to the indications he gave us before the tour, we got with us everything we needed, e.g. long clothing, comfy shoes, protection against rain. We also very much enjoyed the jungle tour with our guide Deen - very knowledgeable and available to answer all our questions. Overall, what we like the most was Gladwin‘s kindness and the fact that we really felt taken care of :)

    Great experience!

We had a great experience with Win and Deen. Our driver Win, called us the day before with the request to start earlier then the planned time; this was a wise advice, because we saved lot’s of time at the end (avoided the traffic). Also, he adviced us about the needs during the day (rain coat, snacks etc.). So, we were fully prepared before our trip. He picked us exactly on time at our hotel lobby. During the drive to Kuala Tahan, he told us about the forrest, indigenous people of the forrest and about Malaysia in general. He informed us about every step we take during the trip. In Kuala Tahan, we met our guide Deen. Deen is a local and knows much about the forrest. We did the Cannapy walk together. The way he guided us, was very fun. He told us about the trees, plants and aborginals. Showed us how the use plants for different goals. Also he took care of the tickets, registrations, boat trips etc. We just enjoyed the day. We visited an aboriginal village and learned about their dialy way of life. Back in Kuala Tahan, Win was waiting for us. He drove us to the Batu Caves and showed us how to reach the cave. We’ve got enough space to explore the caves and the temple. After the caves, he dropped us at a spot we chosen. At all time Win shared his thougts and let us decide what to do..We’ve felt very comfortable during the trip, with Win and also with his car. We are thankfull for this nice experience!

From start to finish the tour was well organized and executed. Gladwin picked us up at our hotel and the 3.5 drive there was pleasant. He gave us good information about the country, the people, and the what to expect on the tour. Dean, our guide in the rainforest was quiet at first but became very talkative and warm when he saw how excited and fun we were. The rainforest, canopy walk and river shooting was amazing. We learned how to blow dart at targets in the aboriginal village. We did really well but failed at fire making! Lol. The Batu Caves were ok. A bit overrated but great to experience if you’re in Malaysia. We were soaked from the River shooting and rain but we had so much fun that we didn’t mind at all. If you don’t to get wet, just tell the guide not to rock the boat too much as we saw many “tame” rides around us. We loved the River, it was better than any Disney rides! Overall, this was the best tour and we had so much fun. Highly Recommend. Gladwin and Dean were awesome guides.

    An overall great trip.

Everything was very well organized. It was worth the trip. The driver was knowledgeable and friendly. The stop at Batu Caves was not worth it. We only saw the temple at 6:30 am and not the caves. It was dark anyway. Everything else was fantastic.

Our driver Robert Parenpa gave us a lot of information until we reached our destination. Very friendly and accommodating. A local guide was waiting for us there, that was very knowledgeable. Great experience!

    Can't stop mother nature

Since we had to prevent mosquitoes, ticks, sun and scratches, we dressed in light long sleeves, long pants, socks, and sneakers that we sprayed with permethrin before we left for our vacation. We were not aware that the trek would be straight uphill in 90 degree heat and 100% humidity. When we got to the summit, the view was hazy. By the time we descended, we were literally dripping and drenched from head to toe in sweat. We then waited 2 hours in line for the canopy walk (Malaysia Day, a holiday on September 16 that we were also not aware of, caused this massive crowd). Then the skies opened up, it poured heavy rain, and they closed the canopy walk. So we never got to do that. Once it stopped raining, we took a boat ride to start another hike through slippery rocks and mud along a stream. We saw a nice waterfall at the end, but both of us slipped in the stream due to wet conditions. After we got back in the boat, things got better. We went to visit an aborigine village and saw them demonstrate firestarting and blowpipe darts, which was fun to watch. We then had another boat ride and a lunch that was fantastic. We ended the day at Batu Caves, which was impressive! Our guide bought us roti tissue, which was very thin fried dough with sugar cooked Indian style, and that was the best part of the day!The bottom line is that in a tropical rainforest, expect rain and very hot conditions. This was not anyone's fault, but we didn't have as good of a time as we could have if those conditions didn't occur. The guides were great and did the best they could under the circumstances.
Great tour but be aware of lots of stairs and vertical paths and treking back & forth across streams

It was a great day starting at the pickup from the hotel and the informative drive to Taman Negra. It is a 3 hour drive. Once you arrive you take a boat across the river into the national park. WE then started climbing up to 2 observation points. The other solo traveler in his early 30's in our party quit about 2/3 up and did not see either view. It was too strenuous for him. WE then did the canopy walk which was great. If you have fear of heights you may not want to do this walk very high above the forest floor. We then went on a rugged slightly marked trail walk thru the forest that crossed a small stream many times and ultimately to a small water fall. Our last stop in the park was a indigenous village where we saw how they made their darts and how they caught small animals. You could try it as well. We then had a wet ride thru the rapids on our way back to the dock. We were served a lunch of 3 dishes with water. Then a drive to Batu Caves and back to the hotel. You need to be prepared with appropriate clothes for a number of activities and there are not really any facilities to change. It was great but was fairly rugged with minimal facilities. Bring toilet paper.

Amazing, the best part of our trip to Malaysia. But be careful of the walkway bridge, there is a section with a ladder. It takes patience and calm to walk on. There is an option to avoid the bridge. The boat ride is amazing. Make sure you take a change of clothes and make sure you change, you will fall ill otherwise. The Batu caves are amazing, but maybe do that on the way back.

Fantastic trip, worth the investment of the day during our holiday and great value. We were very well looked after and group sizes are small so you really feel like you are getting a personal tour. Ram was brilliant and really looked after us, the food and local/regional snacks that he arranged during the journey and for lunch were great. The tour guide in the forest was also fantastic, very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable and you could chat and ask any questions and get a real understanding about the forest, the people and wildlife. The trip, down the river to see the aboriginal village was enthralling and such a privilege to be able to do. Be prepared for a pretty steep hike in the forest, but the steps and trails are good, so good trainers/strong footwear will be ok for you. You also need to be prepared to walk across authentic rope canopy bridges as you see in the pictures so need to have a head for heights and the movement/swinging of the bridges as you cross them, but it all felt well managed and safe. You could miss the rope bridges, and stay on the ground with the tour guide if you didn't fancy that bit of the tour, so no need to be put off by that. Its not clear in the tour instructions but you can leave your change of clothes in the tour bus ready for when you get back to the village after the river ride where you will get very wet! so its ok to take a full change of clothes and a towel so you can dry off and get comfortable for the drive back to KL. Brilliant tour, one of the best we have ever done.

If you are short of time and want to experience little trekking in the rain forest National Park and a quick boat ride then it is OK. Locals suggest you need to spend a full day there, so a night halt is must. As far the trip concerned, you would spend 7 out of 11 hours on road and just 4 hrs in the forest / tribal village / floating restaurant. Don't expect anything fancy. Drive was comfortable but long. Trekking and Canopy walk was very good. Food was just average expected better for the price of the trip. Hospitality and knowledge / engagement level of tour operator is average. For the price charged the trip is not worth it. But as I said, if you are short of time and just need a quick experience with money not a constraint then it is for you.

Was picked up on time and were at the Batu Caves early with very few people there. Great guide/driver who went out of his way to show us the local area. Thoroughly enjoyed the river ride, national park and native village. Had personal time with the villagers. Great people, great day!!!

Amazing tour to the jungle. Whilst only a peak at what can be seen and experienced with a longer stay, well worth the visit. TAKE A DRY SET OF CLOTHES. You will get wet and need to change. First stop after being collected from hotel by Elvin Raj was a visit to Batu caves to see the caves and Hindu temples. As it is an earlier start the site is not busy giving a good chance to view. Elvin gives a brief overview of the site and lets us explore. Then off on a two hour road trip to Taman Negara. Elvin kept the journey interesting by pointing out various items on the way and giving some knowledge on local life. On arriving we took a boat trip upstream to the jungle canopy. Hot and humidity we were taken by DJ our guide for the day up through the jungle to to peaks and a canopy walk. Not a trek for old or physically weak. I was the oldest at 59 and struggled in the conditions. Pace was kept slow for me and the group of us all stayed together. Well worth the puffing and panting for the view of the jungle from above. If you are looking to see animals you will be disappointed as they stay away, other than the insects, which DJ pointed out. On returning to our starting point we had lunch followed by a further trek up river through rapids, where you will get wet on the return, to an aboriginal village. The villagers will show you how to make fire in less than a minute and how to make blowpipe darts and to fire them. Excellent guides and a super trip.

We had the best time of our lives!!!! DJ our jungle guide was spectacular and all the adventures we went on were mind blowing. I have no bad things to say about our experience with them or Viator. If you are looking for a great way to experience things on a time frame, Viator is the way to go. Our driver pick us up from our hotel, talked with us the whole way up to Taman Negara Jungle, explained everything and gave us great information about the culture of Malaysia. If you are in Malaysia and are looking for something to do, definitely go with them and make sure you request DJ for your trekking and Thurai as your driver. You can't go wrong and you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!! Thanks guys, we will definitely be back!!!!
