Great tour, but have cash

The tour was informative and the guide was knowledgeable. The experience was ruined by two things. 1. After the lunch you are taken to a leather store that has very little educational value and is there to get you to buy jackets ect. With products with an average price of $1500 2. They pre pay for your tickets so you have no option but to buy from the tour guide. I suspect its because they get a cheaper price on the tickets but you pay the guide full price. This means you have to make sure you have cash, i was told by an operative(the day before) they will work it out, no cash is needed, i can pay for my own ticket at the ticket office and then on the day, i was told i can pay via online link. That was not the case and i had to withdraw from ATM incurring a 10% charge on €100. Not the worst to incur a surcharge but really left a bad taste. Overall this the typical experience in Turkey, nothing is straight forward and transparent.

One of the best tours we’ve taken during our travels this year! The meetup information was clear and it was easy to find our guide when we got to port. Our guide - Zeyneb - was knowledgeable, articulate, and engaging. We saw so much in one day - the sites mentioned in the description and also a couple of fun stops at local shops. Lunch was a buffet with a variety of local food and we enjoyed trying Turkish coffee for a few dollars. I would highly recommend taking this tour if you visit Kusadasi, especially on a cruise ship.

Very nice tour with Alta in a nice and clean van. We only had two couples on this tour which made things move along smoothly. He was very friendly and attentive and knew how to navigate us around the large crowds. The lunch was good with plenty of choices, drinks not included. For half the cost of a ship excursion, this tour with Viator fits the bill. By the way, the visit to "The House of Mary" doesn't allow pictures taking inside. Ephesus was amazing. Enjoy.

Unexpected disappointment!

The sites we expected to visit on the excursion were wonderful. However, this is the first Viator experience where we were bused to a leather retail outlet where we encouraged to purchase leather items. This is not what I paid for or on the itinerary and not what I expected from Viator. If I was informed of this practice before booking the tour I would have booked with another company. This will impact my future choice of tour companies.

Great experience. The tour and driver were fantastic. We like the lunch. Love all the information about Ephesus. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. George was kind and very considering. He help to get out entrance tickets and had a great time in Kusadasi.

Our guide Razi was excellent. Very informative. Didn’t rush us or overload us with too much detail. Offered us optional visits to leather and carpet demonstrations but did not force the issue when we declined. Small group (6) was ideal.

Our guide Metin was excellent. Personable, and very informative with a great delivery of facts and details in a very interesting way. We learned so much from this man and his knowledge and enthusiasm was infectious. We had a very relaxed and pleasant lunch break and he then guided us smoothly through Ephesus when the large crowds had moved on. ( This was a brilliant move.) I would also like to mention the first class Driver Okan, who was not only very skilled but very friendly and gave us a perspective on every day life in the area. His English was also excellent. It was a hot, busy day but also very educational and enjoyable. A First class trip with First class Guide and Driver.
