    Such a great experience!!! The guide, Robert took me to places on which I really wanted to visit, the red gates temple old town Kyoto and and a temple over the mountain. Robert knows a lot of religion mythology and history, highly recommended

    She is a very friendly quide who is very patient and eager to please her guests. Her fluent English is a big plus

    What memory? No guide showed up at the Tempozan. I sent a special note few days ago explaining in detail where we will be. I see all the other guides come pick up the passenger but our guide didn’t show up. Called the phone number, no answer. Konnichiwa-Japan is a fraudulent company. Take your money and no service.

    Tour guide did a serviceable job of explaining the interesting facts surrounding the different temples and sites. Tour started over an hour later. If you spend a little time reading about the sites you will visit, you can do this without a Tour. Massive crowds make it difficult to experience everything, so you may want to split it in 2 or more days.
    Horrible organization and management, started 3 hours late, covered 4 of 9 scheduled places and had to pay one fees.

    1. Waited 2.5 hours for guide & went around with him to pick 3 groups. Started at 10 am, not 7 am 2. Covered 4 of 9 scheduled places in 6 out of 8 hours 3. We visited the missed sites, paid admission, transport & time next day 4. Disappointed after we had good experiences with Viator last year in Greece & Turkey 5 Hope our next 2 with Viator in Osaka & Tokyo don't meet similar fate

    Tour was booked months in advance. Payment was taken a week prior with confirmation. Then with less than 24hours notice. Tour was cancelled. When I requested to be notified when a refund will be issued in response to the cancellation. There has been not further correspondence from the provider. Not impressed.

    Worst tour I have ever been on. Very poorly organized. Our private tour became a group tour as the operator kept merging groups together. Everyone on our tour was very upset with the lack of professionalism and accountability. The operator notified us late the night before when we were trying to get in touch a few days before only to tell us they will be starting the tour later and did not give us a full day tour in the end. They gave excuses like it's a busy time but didn't have enough staff - then don't keep taking people's money if you can't fulfill the request. Being licensed guide means nothing. They completely ruined the one full day we dedicated to Kyoto. I could have done this tour myself and instead they wasted all of our time. The other families were also equally jerked around.

    Very disappointed. Admittedly I screwed up the booking date. But I never heard from the tour guide. We missed the tour but there was no reaching out in the time leading up to the appointment. Very disappointed withViatoir.

    The agency canceled the tour with less than 24 hours of notice; disappointed since given the short notice it was not possible to find a similar option as a replacement

    Unfortunately we had rain the entire day for our tour. The guides did an awesome job though. The 3 guides we had were new, but they did a great job for us. I would've given them 5 stars, but what I signed up is not what we got. We were not able to go to all the sites that were advertised. I know that the rain played a big part in how our day went. Wished we could have seen a couple more of the locations.
    Private tour turned to multiple group on public transport

    We booked a private tour which was cancelled and moved to a tour with 3 other tour groups and to include public transportation fees not included. We booked the private tour as to not have to use public transportation. The tour guide was late and not in the location which we were instructed to meet. When we eventually located the tour guide not that she located us we were then instructed that we would have even a later wait time for an additional group to join us. The trip we scheduled was for 10 locations to visit was reduced to 3 locations due to overbooking. Was very disapointed that Viator did not refund the booking for 3 people.

    Bamboo forest, cherry blossom but the meeting up at the station was very bad. Our guides didn’t make it clear they were guides,we just stood around. The guides need some sort of badge to show they were guides

    They never showed up. Then when I called them to see what was going on they said they sent me a WhatsApp message. The message was never sent. They then said they would come the next day because they were too busy that day. They said they would send me details by WhatsApp again. When I didn’t receive WhatsApp message I called them 3 times and they kept saying that they would send me details but never did. Completely awful experience. They never bothered to call me or contact me in anyway. I have no ideas how this company operates or is even in business still.

    Andrea was very nice and friendly and did as much as she could. However what I booked and paid for based on the ad was the 9 locations listed, private tour and hotel pick up. Unfortunately last minute the tour company tells us that they will be cutting the locations to only 3, no longer a private tour, and cannot do hotel pick up anymore. I requested for some compensation since I paid $154 AUD and what was delivered was not what I had booked. Yes it was nice that Andrea had bought me a new pen as a "sorry for the inconvenience for today" however this does not compensate for the fact that I booked the tour and they could not deliver what was advertised. After speaking to the tour guide about the situation, he gets very frustrated with me saying how can I expect to do 9 locations if it is peak season, my response to this is, why did you advertise for 9 locations? You need to update your ad to let us know that this is not possible in certain seasons as it is very misleading, you should know and already be prepared for the season because your ad is false advertising if you cannot deliver what is on your ad. The tour operator then processes a full refund (I only requested for half). He then tells me to never visit Japan ever again and swore on me on whatsapp. This was very unprofessional from this tour operator. I'm travelling solo and i book multiple tours and I have never experienced this type of treatment ever in my life. I can honestly say this experience has really put me down during my stay in Kyoto

    As you mentioned we approve your full refund, because you were looking some way to get the service for free, trying to sneak any excuse to get a full refund even you get the tour, regarding visiting the places for us is imipossiible due to the fact that there is crazy amount of tourist, we cannot control the time that takes to visit each location
    A tour to forget in Kyoto

    What a rip off. What was advertised as a 6 to 8 hour tour, possibly joining another couple or single, turned into a group excursion of over 30 persons. We did have two guides though. The tour barely lasted 6 hours and would not recommend it the one bright spot wasthe guides were both very good and knowledgeable.

    Andrea was an incredible guide and really helped us maximize our time in Kyoto. We would have never been able to see and do as much as we did without her. She was also extremely knowledgeable about everything we saw so we were able to learn about the history of what we were seeing and become better acquainted with the culture. I highly recommend this tour. If I come again with my family, I would do this again.
