      We meet at the corner of 3rd Street and Garey Street outside of Hauser & Wirth art gallery. Nearest Metro Rail station - N/A. There is currently no rail service to the Arts District. Bus service can be found on metro.net. Parking - Private lots are available in the Arts District. Rates will vary.

    What To Expect

    Start your walk by learning about the evolution of this longstanding district, a neighborhood that started as a commercial vineyard and slowly morphed into an industrial area and later a happening arts center.

    During the course of your walk you’ll pop into world-class art galleries like L.A.’s Art Share, the city’s largest private art warehouse, and also pass by the NEON and ‘Out of the Box’ galleries as well. If you’re hoping to get a taste for the ‘cutting edge’ of L.A.’s art scene you’re in luck: during your walk, you’ll discover the colorful mix of street art created by area locals. Make sure to take a photo in front of the district’s famous street art ‘angel wings.’

    Before you finish your Arts District Exploration, stop at Hauser, Wirth & Schimmel, one of L.A.’s best bookstores for art books.

    We thought we would see more galleries, but instead were pleasantly surprised to see such cool murals and street art..a thoroughly enjoyable 2 hrs.

    Neil was a terrific guide. The tour was very interesting and I learned quite a bit about the history of the area and the amazing murals. Our friends are locals and they found the tour equally fascinating.
