Must Do Guided Tour
Nadine_S, May 2024
Great guide that shared lots of history and information on the fort, cathedral, Roman ruins, and surrounding area. Wonderful guided tour. We enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.
Waste of money
Noorhayati_S, May 2024
Instructions to meet our guide were not clear. The meeting place was the same for at least 5 other tours at that time and it was challenging to find our guide. She was also late which added to the confusion. I ended up in the wrong group tour. Disappointed to say the least let alone waste of money. Ther are many tour groups to choose from, I advise you go with one that you can actually find the day of.
Not worth the time or money…
Sheetal_G, May 2024
Unfortunately this tour was a thumbs down for us. In the 3+ hour tour we covered the outdoor Roman Amphitheater, the Alcazaba, and the Cathedral and it was just not enjoyable. We could have easily done it ourselves in less than half the cost and time. Our guide was unfortunately not engaging and she provided too many details that felt unnecessary and simply boring. My recommendation would be to buy the entry tickets and do it yourself.
Three Hour Tour
Deborah_C, May 2024
Enjoyed the tour. Loved the inside of the Cathedral. Guide was very good at explaining what we were seeing.
Great sites, poor language skills of guide
Kaitlin, May 2024
To start with the positives, Malaga is a beautiful and vibrant city and the historic sites visited on this tour are well worth the time. We had Fabiola as our tour guide- she is very nice and clearly passionate about her work, but I don’t think it’s appropriate that she is leading English speaking tours. Her English is fairly rudimentary which caused unnecessarily lengthy sections of talking to say what a proficient speaker could say in a few sentences. Way too much time spent at the Alcazaba because of this. I recommend taking a tour of these sites, but unfortunately not necessarily an English tour with Fabiola.
More time in alcazaba
Patricia_H, May 2024
Our tour director was an historian and very good. Only wish we had more time to see Alcazaba instead of being rushed out to see the cathedral
Malaga in a nutshell
Anyatama_G, May 2024
Loved how passionate our guide Lydia was about her city. Also loved the historical titbits imparted by her! The views from the Alcazaba was breathtaking. I'll definitely recommend this one.
Keko, was our guide - If you are fortunate enough to have him as your guide you will love the tour !
Thomas_B, May 2024
Keko, our guide, is a young enthusiastic person with a deep love and understanding of his city Malaga. He lead us through the Alcazaba and the Cathedral. There was not a nook or cranny that he did not know about, the cathedral was a particular love of his and he described each and every altar with a profound knowledge of what was there and what was important. It was a very enjoyable tour arranged by Viator.
Great value and efficiency
Melissa_V, May 2024
We had a great time with Fabiola! She's very knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot about all the sites we went to and she even gave us great recommendations for food and drinks in town as we walked past establishments and at the end of the tour. With the tour group, you can also avoid long queues to buy tickets.
Covers the high points but large group
LisaC, May 2024
Covers the high points, but the Roman Theater is closed on Monday. The group size was quite large, 27 people. The 4 hour tour needed a break in the middle to sit down, have a refreshment, etc. The tour guide was knowledgeable and did get us into each site in an efficient way. We did a “free” tour the day before, so this was somewhat duplicative, but did add the admissions to the important sites.
Information overload
Nigel_D, Apr 2024
There was much too much standing around whilst the guide seemed to talk incessantly. Everything was very, very important but often became incomprehensible with information overload. The poor lady was trying her best but if she’d slowed down her speech and presented half the information we might have absorbed some of it! That having been said, the sites are well worth the time to visit.
Impassioned story of Malaga
mitchelrobinson, Apr 2024
Our guide had a very relatable sense of humor, and a great command of his subject. He was proud of his Andalusian culture and told his stories with passion.
A tour to understand Malaga
Sherin_T, Apr 2024
Great tour to understand history behind the city. Also never knew about certain architectural aspects of a cathedral which is something I will carry forward. My guide Lucia also shared interesting tidbits about the city including places to eat.
Wonderful tour guide!
MerrilyD, Apr 2024
We loved our walking tour!Lucia was wonderful! Extremely knowledgeable and added interesting back story and history! Especially liked that she took the time to collect old photos of the sites to show comparisons with after restorations. Great tour! Lucia!
Unmissable
Ilana_H, Apr 2024
Pilar is an excellent guide, a native malagueña and provided a lot of information in a very nice tour
Fascinating!!!
Becky_C, Apr 2024
It was a fabulous experience. Our guide, Flavia, was extremely knowledgeable, and did a great job. Having her as a guide helped us to look at the places in a different light.
Think again
Martha_H, Apr 2024
The tour guide was passionate about her community and its history. The tour was too long and most participants weren’t interested in the in-depth version …sorry…we left before it was over.
Historical tour
Margaret_C, Apr 2024
The history about the construction of the Cathedral , the Alcazaba and the Roman theatre . Our guide Lucia was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to listen to .
Good Tour
Charlene_H, Apr 2024
The tour overall was very good. The Roman theatre was very interesting as well as the Alcazaba. Skip the tour through the Pimpi waste of time.
Fabulous Tour Guide - Danny
Brian_P, Apr 2024
Danny was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable and very funny. We enjoyed the tour very much because of the way Danny explained the historic facts with a dash of humour every now and then. We will definitely do another tour with Danny one day. Have a great day. Brian from London
