Our guide was amazing. We saw much and learned a great deal of Navajo history. One of the biggest surprises was that Stanley, our guide, went to school with my husband, so that made it even more fun . Summed up best by our 8 yr old grandson - “The best Thursday of my life!”

Monument Valley a spiritual place
Ajay_P, May 2024
This was well worth the trip to Monument Valley. Truly a beautiful and spiritual place. Our guide Stanley was awesome and made sure we did not miss any sites.
Well worth it

The tour was amazing, our guide was very friendly and interesting to talk too, there was more to see than I thought. Two and a half hours flew by, wish we'd taken a longer tour or done the sunset one.
We love Stanley!

Got to pose for a picture on top of a beautiful horse in the middle of John Ford country. The whole experience was fabulous but that was the highlight for me.
The right amount of education and adventure.

The right amount of education and adventure. It was easy to find the meeting point and the guide provided some interesting information that I would not otherwise be able to know or learn about.
Great experience

Our tour guide did a great job - was funny and entertaining, took us offroad to some great spots that felt special/unique, and also conveyed the significance of this land to his people and to him personally. Our entire family loved it. Definitely recommend.
Superior Tour

Cal and his wife are the best tour guides. They gave a lot of facts about the park. Since they are native to the area, we were given so much information and details about each formation. They know so much history. It was a spectacular afternoon.
Worthy of Your Bucket List!

Our Navajo guide was very knowledgeable and made every effort to make our experience enjoyable. We had a fantastic time and learned so much about the history of the region and its people.
Would do this tour again!

Cal was the best guide. He gave a nice history of the lands and took awesome pictures of us! We went out at 4:30 and caught some great lighting for our photos

We knew that we would like seeing Monument Valley, but this tour surpassed our expectations. We would highly recommend Wayne as a guide.
Any early morning tour.
Louise_K, Sep 2023
Wayne as our tour guide was excellent. He shared lots of local information at each stop along the route. He also sang a dance song that was unique to us. The 9 AM tour was a great time to view the area as there was only one couple with us. It made the trip enjoyable as we were able to see all around us! The weather was enjoyable at that time of morning as well.
Going to see back...

Going to see back country. I am disappointed that we did not see Hogan or rug weaving as was in the writeup. Also would like more history and facts of the land.
Magical Tour in Navajos and movies site

If you're going to visit Monument Valley, THIS is the way to do it!
Jason_W, Aug 2023
To be honest, I chose this booking because, at the time, it was the cheapest. We were flying to Las Vegas and I wanted to visit Monument Valley, so I booked the cheapest "Navajo Backcountry" tour I could find. On the day of our tour, we arrived at the designated spot and saw that our guide was already there, so I went to greet him. He introduced himself as Richard and offered to start the tour right away (in spite of the fact that he was eating lunch). I told him that we knew we were early and to "go ahead and finish your lunch," but he saw that we were eager and insisted that we hop in. And so, our wonderful backcountry tour of Monument Valley began. As we would see, those first few moments of meeting Richard were a foretast of the warmth and kindness he extend to us throughout our time together. Richard grew up in Monument Valley, and shared some childhood stories with us. Later, he demonstrated how the mesas and other unique rock formations may have formed over time. He sang Navajo songs and played the flute for us. He showed us petroglyphs, took some amazing photos for us, brought us to visit a hogan where we met Elvina - who fixed up my nieces hair in a Navajo style while explaining its significance. He introduced us to Violet and Linda, from whom we purchased beautiful handmade souvenirs and delicious Navajo tacos, respectively. In all, we spent two and a half hours exploring the backcountry of Monument Valley, and it was truly an amazing day! My dad is a big John Wayne fan, so I had seen Monument Valley on-screen multiple times and had some idea of what we would see on our visit. Even so, it was so surreal to stand at the base of those buttes in person and gaze up at their beauty. A sense of awe settles on you. It's hard to explain. Although our trip "out west" included visits to Las Vegas, some towns on Route 66, Sedona, the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park, on our way home we asked the group to name their favorite part of the trip and the consistent response is "Monument Valley!" There are so many things that you get experience during these guided tours that are simply not available when visiting on your own. If you make the trip to Monument Valley, book a tour! We will definitely return to this beautiful place for a sunset tour, and when we do, we will definitely book it with Simpson's Trailhandler Tours. And we hope Richard will be available to act as our guide.
Best tour and guide!

I cannot say enough about this tour and our guide, Richard. He was hilarious, sincere, and knowledgeable. He grew up in Monument Valley and shared stories of growing up. He knew how to get the best angle of pictures and he even sang native songs for us. Do not hesitate to book this tour and this company!
Wonderfull experience

Wonderfull exeperience ! It’s more interesting than scenic drive with a normal car. Benny our driver was very nice, we appreciated so much his song in silence of monument valley.

Crystal_B, Jul 2023
Jaime was an excellent guide who gave us the history of Monument Valley, along with it's significance to the Navajo Nation. His flute playing and singing of prayers was very special. And we enjoyed watching the weaving demonstration, the process from the sheeps wool, thru the weaving of the rugs! A worthwhile and memorable trip!

Beautiful and magnificent place! Our guide played the flute for us and really brought the experience to a different level. You have to do the tour! It’s worth it!
Good experience
Shin_T, Jul 2023
Our tour truck was a little old. That’s ok with me, but we needed more comfortable seats. I got a free water bottle from a driver, but it was not cold.
