What To Expect

Your tour starts at the Newport Transit Center public parking lot. Hop aboard your trolley, complete with plush leather chairs, to begin your trip.

Allow your guide to share their commentary as you get started discovering the city. Spot over 150 points of interest as you glide past Ocean Drive, Bellevue Avenue, and Cliff Walk. Next, with your admission ticket an included option in the tour, visit The Breakers, a Vanderbilt mansion and U.S. National Historic Landmark. Explore the grounds before continuing your trolley ride.

Take a moment to explore the fort or enjoy the stunning sunsets over Narragansett Bay from the Bennington Overlook section before heading back to the lot at the end of your ride.

The duration of this tour is 160-180 minutes depending on traffic conditions

All tours depart promptly at their scheduled times
This enclosed trolley tour operates rain or shine except during and after winter weather events which involve snow or ice
Please do not meet directly at the Breakers mansion. You will visit the attraction during the trolley tour
Youth under 17 must be accompanied by an adult
Our drivers have updated manifests on their devices. Cancelled tickets are not accepted for admission
The trolley is not handicapped accessible.. Driver may assign seating based on customer needs
Management at the Breakers Mansion no longer allows curbside drop off and pickup. All passengers are discharged and picked up in the bus lot at the mansion. Visitors will have a walking requirement about 700 feet from the drop off point to the front door of the mansion.
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 36 travelers

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Trolley Rob was fun and informative. Perfect amount of time to have toured the Breakers mansion. The trolley left for the tour a few minutes early because all ticket holders were there on time, giving us more time for the tour. We could hear the guide clearly. Nothing negative to see.

Trolley was comfy and Trolley Rob was a great tour guide. Funny and knowledgeable! Saw places I’ve never seen before and learned a lot of local history. If you can do this tour at the beginning of your trip it gives a good overview and you can hone in spots to explore later.

Trolley Rob is hilarious and really knowledgeable about the area. We enjoyed every minute of our tour. The 90 minutes at the Breakers is fantastic and a must for anyone in the area to see. If you watch the Gilded Age show on HBO, you will especially appreciate the history. Don't forget to go back and do the cliff walk!
