What To Expect

Arrive early to the launch point at Bowen’s Wharf, where your memorable sightseeing cruise departs at set morning and afternoon hours. (Please see ‘Important Info’ tab for sail times.) Board the lovely MV Gansett and find a comfortable seat in the cabin or on the open deck for a float through Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay's East Passage. Relax and admire unobstructed views of the shoreline and attractions like Fort Adams, Hammersmith Farm, the Kennedy Compound and the fascinating Clingstone ‘House on the Rock’.

As for refreshments, morning cruisers are offered a complimentary mimosa, freshly-brewed coffee, tea, and juice. Afternoon guests partake in a complimentary offering of regional beverages like Del's Lemonade, Yacht Club soda, and Coffee Cabinets. A cash bar is also available, serving local beers, wines, and hard cider.

Your cruise ends back at the departure point with plenty of time to explore the bayfront.

The tour guide Patrick was fantastic from the minute the boat left the dock. He was funny and very informative. I would highly recommend this narrative tour to anyone visiting Newport. I learned a tremendous amount of history and information about the town and all the boats in port. Can’t say enough good things about this cruise.

Our guide was very knowledgable. The tour was a great overview of the history, homes, and businesses around the coastline of Newport. It was a beautiful fall day which made it even better. Would recommend this 90 minute boat ride.

We throughly enjoyed this excursion. I have to point out that the sound system was superb so we could hear everything our guide said (we have been on other excursions that we couldn’t hear). Service was great and we enjoyed glass of Chardonnay while navigating between Newport and Jamestown and seeing massive mansions.

We recently went out on the 4:30 cruise. We had a great time even though it was overcast. Would have liked to have had a little less harbor tour and a little more open ocean. Still the four of us truly enjoyed the trip.
