Amazing guide, attention to detail, beautiful hike!
    Maud_R, Mar 2024
The guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about the different plants and nature! The hike was enjoyable, and ended up far from crowds in an amazing secluded waterfall. The snacks, the water, the transportation - everything was perfectly thought through! The best day I had my entire trip to Mexico.
    Worthwhile Challenge & Gorgeous

Guides were friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. Coyote Adventuras was very prompt, professional, and fun! Be prepared for a very challenging hike portion of the trip - this is definitely meant for fit and able bodied people as the hike portion is a physically challenging but extremely enjoyable part of the trip. Breakfast was beautiful and delicious. Gorgeous views around the falls on the first 40min mini hike are rewarded with a good hour long swim and photo session at the top of the falls. There is a place to change into your suit and bathroom if needed. The second hike was very challenging. Definitely wear long pants (poison oak type plants) and hiking shoes or sturdy running shoes. Bring a backpack for water etc. a couple rest stops were made but we hiked rough terrain for about 8km in about 1hr40min - the views were worth it! The next valley over we stopped for another swim and a beer at a local quiet swim spot with beautiful waterfalls and rock formations. Finally the tour ended with a lunch and mezcal tasting with a family that has been making mezcal for 3 generations. The mezcal master Jeronimo was friendly and we had a great time. My husband was not feeling well before the big hike and the guide was really helpful and got him back into the van to go directly to the next place while the rest of the group finished the hike. Overall a challenging but worthwhile adventure in a beautiful part of Oaxaca! Must see!
Avoid this trip and avoid Coyote Adventuras

All information provided for the trip by Viator (pickup location, contact info, ect.) was incorrect. The WhatsApp number I texted asking for the departure location was to a different tour company, who gave me their own pickup location. So when I showed up before 6 am, there was no one there. I attempted to email the operator through Viator but there was no response. I went over to the tour company office later to try to figure something out as a replacement. They offered to replace the trip with a much cheaper bike tour. They also refused to refund me, saying it was on Viator not them. Avoid this tour or any other tours with Coyote Adventuras.
AMAZING! Not a tourist trap and authentic experiences
    Jade_R, Jan 2023
Myself and two friends recently did this this tour and oh my god! It was AMAZING! We had the best time! I do have to say the Information Is a little misleading and it doesn’t quite specify how detailed and long the hike is. It’s a little challenging and if your not fit I think you might struggle but luckily for us we love to hike and had the best time! The views were incredible! We loved the your company that do this tour and our guide was so lovely. She was polite, friendly and knowledgeable! There was so many amazing little touches throughout like snacks, several options of drinks and local guides. The places we visited to eat were wonderful and super local. Not these typical tourist traps with bad food and herding people like cattle. The tours were not over crowded and because Oaxaca is still not overly touristy it’s not super crowded. The group we had was small and everyone was super polite and friendly. I can not rave ENOUGH about this tour and the company and our wonderful guide. 10/10!

Coyote Aventuras is grateful for choosing us to have an adventure alongside us! We can't wait for your next visit to Oaxaca, and spend a new unforgettable adventure, full of excitement, and new people along side it... thank you
Wow! Exactly what we were hoping for

We tend to avoid bus tours and tourist crowds, but still want to take in the beauty of local sites. That's why were were so happy to come across Carlos's hike. We got to Hierve el Agua early before the tourists and had the place to ourselves to take photos and go for a swim. It was much more enjoyable than having to fight the crowds. We also beat the heat by starting our hike early. Carlos shared some cultural history and pointed out various plants and sites. The most amazing part was reaching the waterfall at La Salina which had no tourists, no locals and was this incredible hidden gem, again to ourselves. Carlos was extremely well prepared with extra waters, snacks, fruit and all that we needed. Can't wait to come back to Oaxaca to do a mountain bike trip or another adventure with Coyote Aventuras. Gracias Carlos!
    Wonderful Experience

Coyote Aventuras runs an amazing trip, full of delicious, beautiful and unique experiences. I was picked up promptly in the morning, we were the very first people to arrive at Hierve El Agua (no crowds in sight) and then we hiked off the beaten path through agave fields to a hidden grotto full of unique rock formations and very refreshing water to splash around in. Breakfast at a local comedor on the way to Hierve was fresh and authentic and our picnic lunch at Las Salinas was excellent. It was nice to be able to walk through the countryside instead of just sitting in a car for hours; this seems like the only company that offers this experience. Tasting mezcal and learning about how it gets made at the end of the trip was another highlight. Everything felt low key, authentic and not touristy--perfect for visitors with more of a traveler ethos. Highly recommend!
