Fascinating glimpse into Oaxacan artisans

This was a very interesting tour! Our driver and guide, Javier, did an excellent job of describing what we were seeing and transporting us comfortably to all the stops. Highly recommended!
Excelent places and the time manage was great

They came one hour prior to the time we supposed to be picked up-This van was much better quality and confortable than the one to take us to Montealban . Guide and driver was very kind, and share his knowledge. The place is awesone. The time spend in every place was right what we needed.Place to eat was good.
Great, informative tour

The guide at Mitla was full of knowledge and passion. The mezcal salesman was not pushy and aswered all questions. The family,of weavers was very pleasant. The,tour was in english and spanish. Tule was, closed.
Mitla ruins

We went to Monte Albán the day before and it was much more less expensive and a much better experience. Mitla was okay, it’s small doesn’t even take 45 mins to see everything. We stopped at El Tule, tree of life, but bc of covid there was plastic wrapped all around the fence to prevent people from congregating. We also did Mezcal tasting at El Rey de Matatlan which had beautiful scenery of agave plants. What I didn’t like about this trip was the lack of knowledge and communication form the tour guide who by the way was a super nice guy. After Mitla ruins we were all hungry and most of us on the tour got our own food to eat there outside of the ruins. The guide failed to tell us that we were stopping at a buffet style restaurant to eat. That, to me, was a waste of time bc we had already eaten. After that we went to Mezcal tasting which also had places to eat. None of this was communicated to us. Over all it was okay but I’d recommend Monte Albán for ruins and if I did it again, I would only do the Mezcal tasting.
Did not live up to expectations. Very disappointing experience.

The textile facility and the mezcal distillery ended up being the high points of the tour, because they had English speakers. Our guide was not bilingual, and not even close to being able to convey simple instructions, or understand our responses. The tour of the ruins at Mitla was shorter than the lunch break. This was disappointing, because Mitla was supposed to be the highlight. Time management on the part of the tour guide was atrocious, we were supposed to be picked up at 9:20 am, received an email at 7:40 am telling us we were going to be picked up at 8:20am....we pretty much jumped in the shower, got dressed, skipped breakfast, and ran down to meet the tourbus, which didn't arrive until 8:35. So that sucked. At Mitla, were were passed off to a different tour guide (from a different company)who spoke English.....saving that leg of the tour. However, out guide gave us a 20 minute warning to return to the bus, causing us to leave the English speaking tour before it was concluded. We then got to the bus as asked, and waited for an additional 25 minutes. This caused.us to miss about half of the site tour. Our group never went to the petrified waterfalls at Hierve el Agua, and at the stop at El Tule, we were not admitted, so it left us to take photos from a distance.
Amazing experience very knowledgeable guide both in English and Spanish.

We enjoyed this tour. The guide was knowledgeable. The Mezcal tasting was interesting and they broke us into two small groups for English speakers and Spanish speakers. The pools were not worth the time.

It was an extensive tour for the price!!! Lovely tour guide, van was comfortable, the drive was very scenic. I'd be sure to bring extra cash. There are some additional expenses I was unprepared for lunch buffet and a few entrance fees were all cash only. That being said, I'd recommend the tour for sure!!! You really do get to see a lot of cool stuff!!

One word: Fantastic!!! The hierve el agua waterfalls offers a fantastic view of the valley bellow besides the amazing view of the waterfalls. My sisterw and I walked to the top of the waterfalls about a 20-25 fast minute walk There are a few areas that are slippery but there are a couple of ways to get there and the walk is worth it because the scenery is amazing. We visited in July, which is the rainy season and the mountains had a lush green. Mitla, although it is smaller than Monte Alban, is also beautiful for the details of its stone carvings. I loved Oaxaca and its people. I liked this tour because it has several thing of what Oaxaca has to offer.

The sights on this tour were amazing! I am really glad I went on it. The biggest issue is that I was told it was a tour in English but no one on the tour spoke English. Luckily I know a little bit of Spanish and was able to get by, but I think this is good to know for anyone looking to take this tour! I really enjoyed the Mitla ruins the history there is great. And the Mezcal tour and tasting was mind-blowing. I would definitely recommend this tour, but I also recommend knowing Spanish!
