Amazing location, Monte Alban. Great piece of history. Knowledgeable your guide. Don't forget to take a guided tour of Santo Domingo after visiting Monte Alban. Restaurant where we stopped at, was very good.

This was a wonderful tour and only suggestion is for the tour guide to always use the microphone when talking and or speak louder. It was hard to hear her at time throughout the tour.

This tour was incredible and our guide was excellent! My Spanish is poor so he gave us a tour in English while the rest of the group took a tour with another guide in Spanish. He graciously translated all the information at artisan stops as well. I know that work is exhausting and I was so impressed and grateful for his help on our full-day tour!

An enjoyable trip to Monte Alban

Zenon was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable of Monte Alban and excellent command of English. He shared with us about his Zapotec heritage and language which was insightful. It was a small group of about 12 and we were split up into an English -speaking group and Spanish-speaking for the Monte Alban tour which made the experience more intimate and we were able to ask lots of questions. It was a busy day but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Monte Alban was the highlight and it was very interesting to learn about the site. We would not have got near as much out of the experience without a guide. The buffet lunch was tasty with lots of options. It was interesting to visit the villages to see how black pottery and textiles are made. Highly recommend. Thank you for a memorable trip!

Our guide was super knowledgeable about Monte Albon and the Oaxaca area. It was a long day, but definitely worth it if you're interested in archeology and local artisans.

We highly recommend this trip to Monte Albán. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the people, history, geography, and agriculture of Monte Albán. He fluently transitioned between English, Spanish, and French. The site is stunning, the traditional craftspeople are incredible, the cost is very reasonable, and we would 100% do it again.

History, Culture, and Fun!

We don’t usually book day tours on our trips but are happy we did this one. Our guide was wonderful ! We learned so much about the history of monte alban while Zenon shared his reverence and knowledge of his Zapotec culture. Our visit to the pottery studio in San Bartolo was also fascinating. Because of road closures he had to change our route a bit, but we still ended up with a full enjoyable day. The van was comfortable, we made new friends, had a good lunch, and came away with a deeper understanding of the history and culture of Oaxaca. Highly recommended.

Our guide was really knowledgeable and informative. We appreciated how he first ask for permission to tour the grounds in his native indigenous language. Very worthwhile tour. My only complaint is that the bus was too crowded. Give the leg of this experience it would be best to leave a few seats empty.

The guide, Zenon, was AMAZING. Very moving that he shared a little of his Zapotec culture. Knowledgeable about history and a wonderful guy to spend the day with. The only downside is that the company crammed 14 people into our van. It was too crowded.

Incredible day. Zenon our guide wS fabulous. Highly recommended trip. Mont Alban astounding! Tours to artisan workshops was amazing. It was a long day. Bring water and maybe an umbrella for shade at Monte Alban.

Highly recommend this tour with Xeno. He is extremely knowledgeable as he speaks Zapotec and the Zapotec culture is close to his heart. You will learn so much about the indigenous culture of this region.

This was a great tour! Our guide Xenon picked us up from our Airbnb right on time. Throughout the day he gave interesting information about the places we visited. Having a guide at Monte Alban definitely added to the experience. Besides the tour stops, we really enjoyed Xenon's stories about the culture in the Oaxacan pueblos, as he grew up in one.
